Thank you! I'm a month out from having my first two (twins!) and found myself at a loss for how to organize a nursery. This video is helping me feel calmer and more like I have a plan. 👍
I would love to see this type of video every 6 months or year or so. Whenever you have figured out something isn’t working just some kind of update. Especially as he gets bigger and play with more toys and has bigger clothes things that you have done and that work for you.
I’m going to be a second-time mom in the spring, and I found your tips super helpful. It was a great reminder that simplicity is best when it comes to small babies. My son is 5 years old now, so it’s been a while since I’ve had a little! Another great tip for storing clothes is to use vacuum bags! This was a lifesaver for us living in small spaces without extra storage for bulky bins. I’ve had all the vacuum bags stored under our bed, and I’m so excited to finally get to pull them out!
I love your videos, but I was looking forward to watching you morph into a mother and see how your suggestions modified/transformed! I’m a mom of 5 and realized with each child how I can be more efficient. When I saw you fold the clothes so nicely in the previous video, I had to chuckle. I won’t say that was ridiculous bc I nicely organized it all meticulously when I was a first timer! We quickly realize how our systems have to be quick and easy to put back and sometimes, that’s not our original desired organizing system, but a system that serves us better functionally! At 5 kids, I don’t even fold anymore! We throw in a few baskets for each kid on a shelf. They unfold anyway trying to find what they want, this way, no one has to fold them 14 times! 😂 Love to see how you’ve found new ways that work better for you. We gotta live it to figure it out sometimes!
I just had my third baby he’s 5 weeks and each one of my kids dressers is meticulous. Every item folded and divided much like how she originally organized - I just spend 10 folding after I wash clothes and put them in The drawer. I love opening a drawer and seeing each item to decide on what to dress them in. I’m wondering why you guys find this system difficult to maintain? Once it’s in the drawer it doesn’t get messy?
It's not hard if you don't have a ridiculous amount of unnecessary stuff. My girls always had neat dressers. They learn from you. My girls are 18 and 20 now and keep very nice living spaces and apartments. Don't teach them to be messy
@@nicoletoronto 10 mins is a lot of time for my schedule. I homeschool all of my kids and I would rather spend time doing stuff with them than folding clothes. I am teaching them to do so if they wish to, but it’s not necessary. I hang mine and don’t fold but would be fine with my stuff in baskets on a shelf too. There are 7 in my household and I do laundry every day, along with cooking 3 meals, homeschooling kids, and spending lots of time outside playing with kids. I also exercise and help my husband on the farm. It’s not that I can’t. I just don’t value that like I value quality time. My kids only have about a week’s worth of clothing, and they don’t stay neat in the dresser once they are there. The kids choose their own clothes from toddlerhood, and they go through them often looking for their choice. That means they get them unfolded. The toddlers don’t know how to fold yet, so it’s another 10 minute mom job. It really depends on what your life looks like whether that 10 mins is too much or not. On the farm, I need to do at least 4 loads of laundry daily amidst all this, and hang to dry which also takes time. I also have frequent appts and in home physical therapy for two children. So, we cut back things that aren’t really important, even though I prefer perfect order, I don’t prefer it over the quality time I offer my kids instead. And I’m not saying you don’t offer that time, but maybe that our lives just look different, not wrong, just different. I get up at 3am to send my husband to work and stop moving when I fall in bed at 9pm. Some things have to give when you value other things.
@@amberdeterman5815 I don’t teach them messy. It’s a different style of organizing. It’s neatly tossed in their basket “drawer” and they put their own clothes away. It teaches them independence. And my older two who watched mom meticulously do things struggle to replicate. The younger 3 who have seen mom makes chores applicable to their age, have learned to independently pitch in. There are many things that are important in this life, but folded clothes are not on the top of our list. That’s not to say that it couldn’t be at the top of yours. That’s completely fine and acceptable. Jesus and quality time are at the top of ours, so if skimping on folding clothes so I can give one of my other 6 people some needed attention is where it gives, I’m fine with that. It’s a quality not perfection that matters to me (recovering perfectionist, it’s tough, but it’s worth it.)
hack is to use a bar, craft, or coffee cart as a mobile diaper station that can be moved around the baby’s room, into your room, and so on. As Baby grows, you can repurpose the cart for toys, books, art supplies, or whatever he or she needs at a given stage!
My baby is due in January- totally saving this to watch again after my shower next weekend! I've had a baby before, but it's been 12 years so I'm a little out of practice! haha
Thank you for recommending the skip hop changing pad! I almost bought the keekaroo one and I’m so thankful I didn’t! Thanks for saving me $ bc it’s such a good changing pad works perfectly! 👍
I bought the keekaroo changing pad and we ended up using a receiving blanket on top of it cause my baby was too cold espeically being a preemie. Now that shes older we just use the changing pad itself but its kinda a waste for the money for sure!
As a new mom who’s not very organized, this video is incredibly helpful! Definitely going to be using a ton of these tips

Love this one! Happy weekend and BTW, the Canadian Thanksgiving is this Monday, Ashlynne!❤❤
I had a toy rotation when our child had toys playing with the most at the top and less one's at the bottom. They were in a wooden blanket box. ❤

Yay!! So glad to hear that! 💛
Thank You for your videos where is your diaper bag from? And do you recommend it?
My goal for all my spaces is to ”aesthetically functional.” If it looks beautiful, I’m more likely to keep my systems working!
Love this video! Thank you!
Where is your rug from btw?
would love to know this as well! 💝
Wash baby’s socks in a mesh bag to make it easier to match them and to avoid losing them in the wash!
You can you a hanging shoe closet to hold oinsies and diapers and pants
