- Alex Jones has asked a US court to liquidate his assets, which could help him start paying the $1.5 billion in damages owed to the families of the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting victims. The families, who have faced harassment due to Jones's false claims that the shooting was staged, have yet to receive any compensation. This move aligns with a 2023 settlement offer by the Sandy Hook families to allow Jones to pay a minimum of $85 million over 10 years. Jones and his company Infowars filed for bankruptcy in late 2022, delaying victim payments, but a judge ruled he still must pay the settlement. Jones admitted in court in 2022 that his claims were false.

I'll be honest. I kind of discovered Hasan and Vaush around the same time, but I really haven't watched Vaush in a very long time. The reason I stopped watching was because he joked about Yemen being bombed referring to it as "Business as usual" which was so gross that the second I heard him say it, I clicked off the video and unsubscribed. I was already on thin ice because of his take that all queer people should be heavily armed which I still very much disagree with. I didn't know about the FD beef, but as a POC I completely agree with FD signifier that if you are a white person in a white supremacist society the talking about black culture without a strong understanding of black culture is often harmful to the black community. To call him a nazi for that opinion is potentially racist, but just more likely a sign of low emotional intelligence, and at that point...like what's the point? Maybe I'm hating and that's fair, but when I disagree with Hasan which is fairly often, I still feel that his heart is in the right place, but with Vaush it's just not something that I was ever confident in and it made me uncomfortable, but I am entirely aware that I someone can have a different opinion.

He defaulted on some of the cases so it’s extra high. He also got punished by the courts for miss conduct, missing court and breaking gag orders (held In contempt). And finally lost all his other cases. So it’s not from 1 court alone. It is a lot and he won’t be able to pay it but a lot of the times even other cases like Tom Girardi had the same thing occur. So many people are seeking money that it unrealistic that payment will pan out. He also I believe wouldn’t share his assets. Trump did the same thing trying to get out of paying. But that means the courts have to base it on other information (like public comments). That also leads to skyrocketing court costs. If you share how much you make, they can reasonably assess to that standard. If you will not share those documents they do as they must.
Think of it like a 700 year prison sentence. It not gonna actually be 700 years but it’s representative of the punishment.
