- During a special White House meeting with social media influencers, President Joe Biden lost his temper at TikTok star Jonathan M. Katz, threatening to throw his phone across the room.
Katz had been asking Biden on his support for Israel during the Gaza war and the use of American-funded weapons. Biden tried to deflect the questions but grew impatient and responded angrily. Katz noted the irony of his invitation to the White House despite Biden signing a bill banning TikTok.

Lmao i saw this video pop up on twitter yesterday and this specific thing was all I could think about for like an hour. I was like "how did he fuck up the metaphor so bad" before remembering he's just old as hell and was probably really pissed in the moment.

"I trust you as far as I can throw you" is a saying that means you don't trust them at all, or barely at all, because you can't pick them up and throw them very far.
Saying "I trust you as far as I can throw your phone, which I can throw very far" kinda sends the exact opposite message he was going for.

My grandfather was from the south, and spoke very slowly and very deliberately, which I always had to get used to being from the North and generally speaking and doing things quickly. He had a fall down the stairs and a brain injury at 90, and after recovery, still spoke with more memory and better diction than Joe Biden. About the deepfakes: that Twitter account is a far right publication (Andy Ngo also works there) and the did exactly what she's saying they're doing
She misspoke and meant to say "cheapfake," as in a video that has been edited using conventional means.
She's very consistent about this during the whole conference, where the only time she says "deepfakes" being in that video at the very end, one single time.
In fact, you can here her say "cheapfakes" IN that video too. Someone just coughs over it.
So, essentially they did a cheapfake to "prove" another cheapfake.
