    I had externals surgically removed in February after suffering 15 years (getting them from childbirth). Here I am 3 months out and so thankful. It was a really horrible first couple of weeks, but worth it. I had one funny lump leftover that was snipped off last week, and I never thought I’d say this, but I have a nice bum hole now! @Dr. Chung- Your videos have been a wonderful guide to keep me reassured!

    So one day when I was done doing a number 2 in a Porta potty I didn’t have anything to clean down there well. So what I did next was a true blessing. So I wiped my self down there with tp. and the alcohol based hand cleaner !

    Ok within 48 hours while sleeping the hemroid bled out with a small pool of blood.

    • @robertdecker146
      @robertdecker146 2 месяца назад

      @saurabhMaratha. I've heard the same thing, and it was actually quite a few years ago, way back in 2006, I used to work security at a lighting warehouse and I used to have various conversations with one of the maintenance guys, and we were discussing about hemmharoids one particular day, and he stated about having his removed, but then they grew right back, within a year or so. I have an uncle who had his removed, right in the doctor's office, way back in the 1980's, and apparently they never grew back. I'm assuming they were much less serious hemms than that maintenance guy's hemms. I've had hemms since 2006 myself, and they evolved into the external type, by 2011. The internal type that I had before the external, caused blood in my stools, but no real problematic type of ongoing lingering pain, which the external hemms are. I never get blood in the stools anymore, but the external hemms are such a profoundly cruel affliction. I work a laborous job which requires alot of standing and walking, and I have to find somewhere to briefly sit, for just long enough(Typically only a few seconds) in order to basically push the hemms back in, like every 5 minutes. It's ridiculous. I'm 54 years of age and so tired of living this way. I often feel tempted to take a pocket knife and just slice that pesky Horrible hemmharoid right outta there myself. I realize that that would likely cause me to possibly bleed to death though. At the very least I'd wind up passing out, from the excessive blood loss. Then I'd be carted into an ambulance, and I'd probably wind up needing a blood tranfusion(I knew a guy who got hepatitis from that procedure). So yeah, between the Hep C risks, to the enormous hospital bill, definitely not worth going full on crazyville. I just take it one day at a time for now. Note: It's always when I have a bowel movement, in the morning, that I have to suffer while working at my job. Late bowel movements are what I try to aim for, but unfortunately, my own personal biology rarely enables that to happen. And as far as getting the Hemm Surgery, yeah, I think about it and consider it often, especially if it were a brief and minimalized pain involved type of surgery(Using lasers, instead of knives). For now though, I just suffer. : (

    I hate a hemorrhoids surgery.. My surgeon was good but if any surgeon says that your pain will be gone within a week or 2, they just absolute liars..yes pain starts to reduce after 2 weeks but it still around pretty consistently for 4 weeks easily... It's been just a little over a month & I still can't sit without a donut pillow. Even when have to go for follow up check up to the doc, have lay down sideways in thy back seat, cause sitting in a car even with a donut is extremely uncomfortable.. Recovery is just an absolute shit slow.. I truely detest my life right now stuck inside home.

    I previously commented on a video you made in regards to water only fasting and hemorrhoids. I stated their that I saw moderate success in getting the ruptured vessels to heal by "giving them a break" but this is far from a cure. Intermittent fasting is "the way" for anyone dealing with an inflammation response to food though because it limits the amount of times you need to go daily. I went on to figure out some time ago that a low dose otc decongestant (10mg Sudafed) alleviates the swelling enough to have a complication free bm, I'm not sure how well this will work in the long run but it makes regular bodily functions less of an emergency for sure on flare up days. I also figured out that the bleeding OUTRIGHT STOPS on "the next bowel movement" using cayanne peppers natural ability to cease bleeding. I currently use franks red hot until I'm able to make it into surgery😂

    Hello, Doctor!! Another great video! I like to watch your videos just because I've had a hemorrhoid (I think...or maybe it was a terrible fissure, but it put me into the hospital for 2 days with a catheter), and I've never forgotten that experience. If I ever have to face something that bad again, I want to hear strategies and advice from someone I can trust, and that's what brings me here. Considering the procedure you described that you do in your office, what is the recurrence rate? If I was to have one of these done, would I have a reasonable chance of not having to deal with this problem again for a while? I've read many different opinions regarding similar operations. If the recurrence rate is low, then a few days of pain might be worth it. :o)

    Hi Dr Chung, regarding this Video, it sounds like you are saying you can do the External Hemorrhoid's surgery at your office, less evasive and less complicated. If so, is there a difference in the removal procedure? Are you still cutting out the Hemorrhoid's and stitching it?

    Every three or four years I’ll get a really bad week or two flareup where the hemorrhoid looks like it’s external but then once the swelling goes down it’s like nothing ever happened. Would mine be classified as an external hemorrhoids or prolapsed hemorrhoid?

    I know it’s off topic for this video specifically Dr Chung but could you maybe cover something about the roll of mucus in fissures. I know it’s typical talking about the haemorrhoids but I’ve heard about it with fissures and suspect this was the reason for my mucus too. It usually seems to crop out when the anus and pelvic floor is super tight for me. But that may be unrelated. I feel the mucus irritates the skin down there including the fissure even with the scar tissue there. It can be quite hard to clean too. But it’s only there a few times a week and has been there at various stages during the fissure healing but didn’t start until quite late on. I’m not sure if that typical or not.
    Anyway there’s not much info out there on mucus and fissure.
    A follow up topic I wonder if it’s worth mentioning some of the more Oral based medications and the pros snd cons and what they can help with.
    I’m thinking things like your amitriptyline, pregabalin etc that are being used off label for pain or spasm, nerve issues after a fissure etc. And possibly even things like Valium suppositories or muscle relaxers.
    Thanks again doc. I know you’ve probably got a lot of great topics already lined up!

    Be nice as a resident of Ontario, Canada if I could find a surgeon who would operate on my hemorrhoids. It seems that surgeons in my province would rather see a patient suffer than do anything to help. I have been suffering from hemorrhoids for years that have been bleeding and causing pain and discomfort. Pretty scary that Ontario surgeons can’t handle a hemorrdectomy! I hope I won’t have to rely on one for a more serious surgery such as a triple bypass! What a bunch of incompetent idiots!

Just tried the Pranicura for first time in a couple weeks because of increased swelling and microcracking from night time terrible itching and scratching. That menthol was too much! Thank you for your videos, Dr. I have been suffering from mild to sometimes severe hemorrhoids. With occasional bleeding. I've been strict about diet and fiber as well as using Lax-a-day. My GP finally referred me to a proctoligest who said he could help me by banding my hemorrhoids. This was 4 weeks ago. I've been through hell and have ended up worse off than before. I now have external hemorrhoids that were nit there before. What should I do? My surgeon says he's done and can't help me. He said I have to live with it and that I'm the 2% that goes wrong and I should not do this kind of surgery ever again.
