So I just got my procedure today for banding. I was put under sedation due to my high anxiety from being sexually assaulted alot. So the doctor thought it be best. And thank God he did. It was super easy. Now the only thing that sucked was the ride home in my husband's jeep. Once we got home I was miserable. I couldn't stay still. I rolled around in bed for a while then eventually got up and walked around slowly. ( the urge to poop was so strong and uncomfortable) eventually after passing gas... my world is so much better. The ibuprofen helped a lot and now I'm doing well. Uncomfortable.. maybe a 2 or 3 pain level. I feel pressure in my hoo ha.. but don't freak out after they are done. Its super uncomfortable and I pooped blood right away but 2 hours after, it just keeps getting easier. It sucked but I have 3 hemroids banded and 2 were prolapsed, happy to get my life back in order. I hope this helps someone somewhere because I just watched this and other of this docs videos and its the only reason why I went. Good luck! God has you!
I’ve had prolapsed hemorrhoids since 2011 with the birth of my second child. I’ve had 1 hemorrhoidectomy and 2 bandings and they are back, bigger than ever. The hemorrhoidectomy was the worse pain of my life. I would literally break out in cold sweats and shake when going to number 1 or 2 during the recovery period. 1 banding was extremely painful afterwards. I think my doc at the time banded an external hemorrhoid. When I have a bad episode I typically lay down and ice my butt. I’m 44 now and hate my life because of this. No matter what I do, standing, sitting, sneeze, cough, sitting, urinating, soft or hard bowel movement….literally anything.can bring on an episode.
Check out Binaural beats. They work on changing the way you think about it. You have to believe 100% that it can be cured by the Binaural beats otherwise it doesn't help. Use headphones 😊
I am so sorry you are dealing with that. I wish there was a better way to get rid of them. I'm struggling with one now, and I can't imagine living the rest of my life with this level of discomfort. I'm contemplating banding but so scared because I have a low tolerance for pain.

I love your video and explanation but I am still confused as to if this is an internal prolapsed or an external hemorrhoids. My gastroguy just called it an angry hemorrhoid and suggested banding. I had IRC done almost ten years ago but here we are Jason and the mother are back for another sequel. I was under the impression that external ones are not to be banded. It has been almost two weeks since I had an incident where I aggravated this hemorrhoid and it is not bleeding pretty badly not only from a bowl movement but constantly. I am spotting.
Thank you so much for your channel! Your demeanor and way of giving information is very helpful and informative. I had an appointment for rubber band litigation but had to cancel due to losing my job and loss of insurance. Been dealing with hemorrhoids since middle school, but was too afraid to seek treatment, and it has greatly affected my self confidence and sex life. And when I had the ability to resolve the issue, life told me otherwise. I guess I'll get the treatment when I can afford it. Could you do a video on treatment options and/or how to handle hemorrhoids while still being sexually active? Thank you again, and please keep up the great work!
I requested a referral to see you specifically but my insurance denied it because my condition is not a matter of life or death. I would have to file a reason if my life depends on it but since it doesn’t I can’t see you. I’m so bummed about it. My heart trusts you but I have been referred to Jeffrey Lake in Encino Ca. I have tried finding videos to see if he posts anything about his profession but there is only one and he’s talking about anal cancer. Watching your videos has helped me a lot. My appointment is on May 16th. Thank you for the videos you post. Please pray for me. Thank you!! You really are a friendly and honest proctologist.
Water Fiber supplements More water No more than 5 min on the toilet. Use heating pads and ice packs for relief from any flares. Soak in hot water epsom Salts. By ALL means change the bathroom routine. FAST And easy. If it’s not urgent immediate and easy then you need more water and fruits and veggies. NOTHING can ever heal if we don’t fix the BMs. And that’s all done with DIET.
Thank you for this information. Your video is very insightful with much knowledge and very much appreciated. I have a question for you, in your opinion, do you Believe that prolapsed hemorrhoids could perhaps be the cause of erectile dysfunction? My suspicions are because of restricted blood flow to the pelvic area. This very well might be cause. Any thoughts? Also can internal Hemorrhoids prevent a bowel movement? When I feel the urge to go I sit down and nothing happens for about 25 to 30 minutes. I'm able to squeeze a little out, but never feel like I have empty completely. Very frustrating cuz I know the longer I sit on the pot the worst the hemorrhoid condition gets. I am breathing properly and do not strain but I am still having horrible issues with bowel movement ability. It feels like everything tightens up on the inside. It will not let anything come out when I try to have a bowel movement. Any thoughts or feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thank you Dr. Chung
I have been dealing with hemorrhoids for a week...the beginning of the week pain was at a 12 now level is at a 5. Suppositories and ointment and even sugar has been used and it's not going down. Took bath...didn't know about no wipe with tissue after a poop(THANK YOU FOR THAT INFO) I may have to see a proctologist
Do you have any tips for someone with severe gastroparesis w/ hyperemesis? All my doctors basically tell me to shun fiber, but I go weeks without a BM and it has caused prolapsing hemorrhoids that impede my BMs
Good habits are using the toilet fast and easy. Supplement fiber into your diet and drink water. Think of your intestines as a water slide. No water. No slide. Poo can’t move. Sitting on the toilet swells the hemorrhoids. Try to be done in 5 mins. If you’re not sat long they won’t enlarge and cause issues. It all comes down to bathroom habits. If we don’t fix that surgery or whatever else will fail bc they will return.
Brother Chung excellent videos, very well explained. I feel you really care. I just want to ask you about laser and other non-invasive form of surgeries can you shed some light on those options please. Thank you. Thumbs Up
While all of us are having to deal with our current political situation, you are truly looking at all the assholes in our society. My hat is off to you Dr. Chung. You have answered a lot of my questions and I'm trying to change my diet to facilitate better BM's.
What about prolapsed polyp? What I thought was a hemorrhoid turned out to be a small prolapsed polyp, and I'm not sure if I should just try to live with it or have it removed and how.
If you get it recently, just follow my way. 1. Drink water as much as you can 2.eat simple food(easy to digest) 3. Use kayam churan(if you are from india) for soften stool it is best for soften stool i can bet on it 4. Watch it for few days if it works then good otherwise call your doctor 5. Dont panic most of the time it is go on their own :)😊

Hi dr Chung!! I am almost 39 weeks pregnant and have prolapsed hemorrhoids for a week now. They bleed sometimes with BM but most of the time they are just tender and uncomfortable. I am using hydrocortisone 2.5%. I am anticipating the hemorrhoids will get a lot more worse with pushing…My question is with my situation, when would be a good time to schedule surgery to get this taken care of care of to minimize complications like infection and hemorrhage? Thanks
I am a 23 year old male Engineer in a foreign land. And I got it back in 2020 when I was junior in college. If it has ring like structures when it prolapses, it's your rectum, if it's swelled and bubbly structure it most probably internal hemorrhoid. Now After 3 years it worsened and got bigger, I am talking with my manager tomorrow. I can not live like this. I am getting it sorted out by any means.
Never realized how much u clinch till this last episode. Up and down stairs... every step... yellow light driving... holy sheet. (I drive a city bus I felt like I was gonna die last night)
Hey Doc I gotta stage 2 hemorrhoid that slides out when I am on a toliet and slides back in an hour later so its bigger stage 2 I guess. Now I've had him for a year or two and it always bled after stool and I figured that I can't live like this anymore. So I decided to change my life in general ( became vegan, more active physically, applying some creams etc...). Now its a little better because it doesn't hurt when I poop since my stool is soft and it doesn't bleed! But the hemorrhoid is still there obviously...Now I've always tried to avoid surgery because I've talked to people who had them and some of them said they felt the worst pain in their life! Also they can come back after surgery as well. So that's why I've been against it so far. But on another I've heard that laser surgery or even rubber band are not as painfull so i've been thinking about that. Can you give me some advice on that it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Your video is wonderful. It is the best explanation I’ve ever heard. I’m waiting for prolapse surgery and hopefully I will get my life back. I Have lost total control of my body. I’m doing all the right things but nothing helps. I take aspirin hoping to shrink the tissue. No luck. It’s been years and I’ve had it.
Have you done the surgery yet? I have been have it for over 22 years since gave birth to my daughters. It hurts for 10 years and getting worse, scared of surgery. I have prolapse hard to poop especially when it pebbles.
The pranicura stuff he talks about is great! Look it up. And use tucks to wipe. And don’t stay on the toilet. Aim for enough water and fiber that you’re on there for 5 min tops. I swear it’s all about how long we sit there.
Thanks Doc, very useful info. 👍 I have a question. I got prolapse hemorrhoids...the pink sticky guy 😅 Do I really need a surgery. How can I cure it without surgery...what are the things I should do.... thanks again
Hi Dr Chung, can you talk about the effectiveness of laser treatment (surgery) is for stage 3 prolapsed internal hemorrhoids? I am unhappily a “new sufferer” . This just happened 2-3 weeks ago. Luckily, only pain on defecation so far. But i have to sometimes push back the hemorrhoid inside my rectum where it usually stays until I poop again. Then, maybe it protrudes a bit, or maybe not. Compared to the banding procedure, what about laser treatment to fix or remove it? Which, if either treatment, is better; meaning less pain during recovery and success at keeping the hemorrhoid from reappearing at some point in the future?
I’ve had four separate babies. My second child gave me the prolapse ones. My next two were the icing on the cake. Every 2-5 years I can’t walk for 2-3 days. Now I’m my forties I bleed every day.
I would highly recommend an Acupuncturist. There is great success in treating hemorrhoids with Chinese Medicine. I tried commenting already with a link, however, YT deleted it. So instead just copy and paste the following phrase to see where you might find one if you are interested. Hope this helps. "NCCAOM Find a practitioner Directory"
You can treat yourself you just have to change your diet. All fruit, vegetables juices and smoothies for at least 3 weeks. You can get protein by mixing in some oats, nuts, kale and organic non dairy protein powder.
I love your videos! I just went to the Dr because my hemmoroids ruptured. He made 2 incisions and took the blood clots out but didn't sew them back up, he just pushed them back in. Is that normal? Also, when will I heal from this??
I had the same. It was like deveining a shrimp. The size of my thumb. No they didn't stitch it up afterwards. Now it is like a clams foot. And I have another one right beside it. It's horrible and depressing.
That was truly enlightening! I have quite a few of these nasty guys living on the outside who flare up from time to time. I never knew you were born with them. Thankyou for your great videos and humour.

A blood in stool also can be a anal fissure so be careful before it is too late, try to change your life style and follow this doctor advice and you will be fine ❤
2008 First banding of three haemorrhoids 2010 One haemorrhoid banded 2012 One haemorrhoid injection For months later, one haemorrhoid banded because injection did not really work 2020 late in year Three grade two haemorrhoids banded 2023 Two small internal haemorrhoids banded which used to come out with bowl movements but go back in with gentle persuasion. Getting in early before they progress is paramount. I’m now 60 years old and my condition is better than when I was in my 40s. I’ve seen some of the videos of hemorrhoidectomy and I really don’t know how they progress that far without causing you to act. I’m kind of glad I’m sensitive to these changes because I’m more likely to act soon enough. Admittedly I’ve been weight training since my 20s and lifting heavy weights does not help if you are prone to this condition. Now though my diet is good and I drink plenty of water so better than ever. When I was younger I used to strain a lot due to hard stools. All in all I feel very lucky so far. And hopefully will stay on top of things. I hope my story will be of help. Update. Just got checked out and was told that I have a few grade 1s and one small grade two and this is pretty normal. I’m very happy with this as I now know that by getting my diet and fluid intake correct, that this condition can be overcome but you must catch it early enough.
@@kaisakhan3058 Hi, not very painful at all, about 2 to 3 out of 10 depending where, and how large it is. They can only band internal piles, external usually clear up on their own. But don’t mistake prolapsed internal with external piles, they are not the same. Your practitioner will advise on this.
Hi, sorry if you have posted this elsewhere, but could you advise or do a video on how to push your hemorrhoids back in? I’m waiting for my HALO surgery but until then I need some temporary relief - a Dr in A&E recently pushed them back in, but they have popped out again, despite me taking a stool softener and following ALL the advice on avoid pissing my hemorrhoids off! 🙏🏼
Lie on ur right side and apply a clean damp towel and gently push them back. A little coconut oil is good for healing and lubricant. If it’s especially swollen you can place sugar on them and wait a minute for them to shrink before manually putting them back.
Is it possible to get a hemorrhoid as a result of a perianal abcess? I had a really bad abcess which was misdiagnosed by a hospital doctor, ironically as a thrombosed hemorrhoid, and the day after it burst itself. I was then left with a draining wound for 12 months which finally dried itself up but I now have an area of scar tissue and have an external hemorrhoid right in the exact area where the scarring is.
I’m too embarrassed to go to my doctors. So here I am. How I fixed myself is to eat a balanced diet. Eat lots of veggies and fruits and my poop is way easier to push out. While not pushing too hard, I don’t get prolapsed.
Most of the time you have bleeding try witch hazel .get a pad soke it in the W H THATS WHAT I'VE BEEN DOING FOR A LONE TIME. hope thi works for someone.
Dr. Chung I've had prolapse hemorrhoids for many years. About 12 years ago I had stapling done on them that only lasted a couple of years. Doc says they can't do stapling again. What's the next type of surgery available since the stapling has been done? Thanks!
I'm not sure why your surgeon said this. Stapling can be done again if needed. I would seek the reason why as I'm not sure what the details are of your surgery.
@peny1981 the stapling was 17 years ago. I went ahead and had the hemorrhoidectomy in May of this year. I'm great now. It was not as bad as I thought. I'm so glad I did it.
The treatment needs to match the goals of the patient. My consultations are very thorough and I go through many topics to find ways to optimize habits and offer treatments depending on the characteristics of the hemorrhoid. It's customized for each patient. I would advise seeing a specialist for a conversation. I wish you the best.

I just have a slight twinge or reminder that it's not totally "normal" down there, but they are not inflamed, cause me no discomfort nor difficulty in my daily routine whatsoever. Peace to you and may the peppermint patties be yours in abundance!
How are you doing now? Are you free of hemorrhoids now after the banding and healing?

Did you figure this out (I hope so), and what helped?
I'm currently dealing with the same issue.
Thanks for saying so! I will put your question on the list! Thanks for the suggestion.

Chung

Do you have any tips for someone with severe gastroparesis w/ hyperemesis? All my doctors basically tell me to shun fiber, but I go weeks without a BM and it has caused prolapsing hemorrhoids that impede my BMs
Thank you for the help
What causes it to enlarge and what are the "good habits"??
Good habits are using the toilet fast and easy. Supplement fiber into your diet and drink water. Think of your intestines as a water slide. No water. No slide. Poo can’t move. Sitting on the toilet swells the hemorrhoids. Try to be done in 5 mins. If you’re not sat long they won’t enlarge and cause issues.
It all comes down to bathroom habits. If we don’t fix that surgery or whatever else will fail bc they will return.

no offense but flaw or diet differences though. they run on instinct, we factor in emotions when we eat.

How can you tell the differences between prolapsed hemorrhoid and rectal prolapsed?
A trained professional would be the best person to know for sure.

Thanks
I think a video consultation is more appropriate to help you with your issue. Check the description box for details.

So what was the answer?
Hi Dr all these videos are 1 year old. Do you have recent ones ? Where are you located.? Thank you
Is there a timeframe to this, example if it doesn't go away after 1 month then it is never going away???
Your video is wonderful. It is the best explanation I’ve ever heard. I’m waiting for prolapse surgery and hopefully I will get my life back. I Have lost total
control of my body.
Wow so well what do we use, damnit! Prep h, hydrocort, what do we use!!!
The pranicura stuff he talks about is great! Look it up. And use tucks to wipe. And don’t stay on the toilet. Aim for enough water and fiber that you’re on there for 5 min tops. I swear it’s all about how long we sit there.
Thanks Doc, very useful info. 👍
I have a question. I got prolapse hemorrhoids...the pink sticky guy 😅
Do I really need a surgery. How can I cure it without surgery...what are the things I should do.... thanks again
Soft fast poo is CRUCIAL. buy some Miralax and take daily w lots of water. Ideally you wnat to go fast and easy. No more than 5 min on the throne.
Which, if either treatment, is better; meaning less pain during recovery and success at keeping the hemorrhoid from reappearing at some point in the future?
how are you doing

I love your videos! I just went to the Dr because my hemmoroids ruptured. He made 2 incisions and took the blood clots out but didn't sew them back up, he just pushed them back in. Is that normal? Also, when will I heal from this??

How are you feeling now ?
How can you “allow it to heal” when you have to poop every day? My prolapses are causing mass constipation.
try fasting so your ass get some rest or a very low residue diet, very high on saturated fat.

I’m very happy with this as I now know that by getting my diet and fluid intake correct, that this condition can be overcome but you must catch it early enough.
how painful is the banding? was it int or external hemorrhoids?
@@kaisakhan3058 Hi, not very painful at all, about 2 to 3 out of 10 depending where, and how large it is. They can only band internal piles, external usually clear up on their own. But don’t mistake prolapsed internal with external piles, they are not the same. Your practitioner will advise on this.
What causes that electrical shock in your bottom with large hemorrhoids.?
Hi, sorry if you have posted this elsewhere, but could you advise or do a video on how to push your hemorrhoids back in? I’m waiting for my HALO surgery but until then I need some temporary relief - a Dr in A&E recently pushed them back in, but they have popped out again, despite me taking a stool softener and following ALL the advice on avoid pissing my hemorrhoids off! 🙏🏼
Sure thing! Great question. Stay tuned!
Lie on ur right side and apply a clean damp towel and gently push them back. A little coconut oil is good for healing and lubricant. If it’s especially swollen you can place sugar on them and wait a minute for them to shrink before manually putting them back.
@@ManicMilido you just leave the sugar on or rinse off?

@drchung, does UC cause hemorrhoids. is it UC or hemorrhoids
I had the same thing in 2008 it became an access. I have had 3 surgeries. I currently have a prolapsed hemmoroid and I'm super nervous 😫
What happens when they are very big? How do you get rid of external ones?
I’m too embarrassed to go to my doctors. So here I am. How I fixed myself is to eat a balanced diet. Eat lots of veggies and fruits and my poop is way easier to push out. While not pushing too hard, I don’t get prolapsed.
Can this condition cause rectal leakage?
yes

Instead of a hemorrhoidectomy, what are the other treatment options for an internal prolapsed hemorrhoid that can't be pushed back in (grade 4)?
The treatment needs to match the goals of the patient.
