Man you are a blessing! I just went through a few months of prolapse, pain, burning and crazy itching. I used the usual Prep H creams and versions thereof from various sources, including 5% lydocaine which just seemed to be very temporary but helpful in the short term. So, I got to thinking about the fundamentals....this is SWELLING. What do we do with other soft tissues in our bodies when injured and swelling? We ICE THEM. So, I started putting one of those reusable gel ice packs...shaped it to fit up between my cheeks, froze it then sat on it every evening while home at the computer after work. In about a week, they went away! I've been feeling pretty good since then, along with eating bran buds every day, plenty of water and using just plain old hyrdrocortisone cream, I'm optimistic about the future. I do have a surgery scheduled in two weeks though, and am conflicted about whether I should just do it and see if the doc can improve the odds of better overall results down the road. I do NOT look forward to getting cut on and the recovery, nor the two enemas I am told to do to prepare for the surgery!

Hi buddy. I cancelled the surgery. Doing fine! I am using the Pranacura cream the doc here recommends and it's VERY nice. It feels like you're sitting on a York Peppermint patty! Nice and cool and lubricates so when it's poopin' time, it helps the movement. As I mentioned, eat plenty of fiber, stay well hydrated and be very mindful of bathroom habits, go VERY easy with wiping, use wet wipes if needed and just treat your starfish with care. The ice pack trick I am convinced reversed my issues down there. Best wishes to your recovery. @@jherfan7632

So I just got my procedure today for banding. I was put under sedation due to my high anxiety from being sexually assaulted alot. So the doctor thought it be best. And thank God he did. It was super easy. Now the only thing that sucked was the ride home in my husband's jeep. Once we got home I was miserable. I couldn't stay still. I rolled around in bed for a while then eventually got up and walked around slowly. ( the urge to poop was so strong and uncomfortable) eventually after passing gas... my world is so much better. The ibuprofen helped a lot and now I'm doing well. Uncomfortable.. maybe a 2 or 3 pain level. I feel pressure in my hoo ha.. but don't freak out after they are done. Its super uncomfortable and I pooped blood right away but 2 hours after, it just keeps getting easier. It sucked but I have 3 hemroids banded and 2 were prolapsed, happy to get my life back in order. I hope this helps someone somewhere because I just watched this and other of this docs videos and its the only reason why I went. Good luck! God has you!

I’ve had prolapsed hemorrhoids since 2011 with the birth of my second child. I’ve had 1 hemorrhoidectomy and 2 bandings and they are back, bigger than ever. The hemorrhoidectomy was the worse pain of my life. I would literally break out in cold sweats and shake when going to number 1 or 2 during the recovery period. 1 banding was extremely painful afterwards. I think my doc at the time banded an external hemorrhoid. When I have a bad episode I typically lay down and ice my butt. I’m 44 now and hate my life because of this. No matter what I do, standing, sitting, sneeze, cough, sitting, urinating, soft or hard bowel movement….literally anything.can bring on an episode.

I love your video and explanation but I am still confused as to if this is an internal prolapsed or an external hemorrhoids. My gastroguy just called it an angry hemorrhoid and suggested banding. I had IRC done almost ten years ago but here we are Jason and the mother are back for another sequel. I was under the impression that external ones are not to be banded. It has been almost two weeks since I had an incident where I aggravated this hemorrhoid and it is not bleeding pretty badly not only from a bowl movement but constantly. I am spotting.

Thank you for this information. Your video is very insightful with much knowledge and very much appreciated. I have a question for you, in your opinion, do you Believe that prolapsed hemorrhoids could perhaps be the cause of erectile dysfunction? My suspicions are because of restricted blood flow to the pelvic area. This very well might be cause. Any thoughts? Also can internal Hemorrhoids prevent a bowel movement? When I feel the urge to go I sit down and nothing happens for about 25 to 30 minutes. I'm able to squeeze a little out, but never feel like I have empty completely. Very frustrating cuz I know the longer I sit on the pot the worst the hemorrhoid condition gets. I am breathing properly and do not strain but I am still having horrible issues with bowel movement ability. It feels like everything tightens up on the inside. It will not let anything come out when I try to have a bowel movement. Any thoughts or feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thank you Dr. Chung

    • @ManicMili
      @ManicMili 10 месяцев назад +4

Good habits are using the toilet fast and easy. Supplement fiber into your diet and drink water. Think of your intestines as a water slide. No water. No slide. Poo can’t move. Sitting on the toilet swells the hemorrhoids. Try to be done in 5 mins. If you’re not sat long they won’t enlarge and cause issues.
It all comes down to bathroom habits. If we don’t fix that surgery or whatever else will fail bc they will return.

Hi dr Chung!! I am almost 39 weeks pregnant and have prolapsed hemorrhoids for a week now. They bleed sometimes with BM but most of the time they are just tender and uncomfortable. I am using hydrocortisone 2.5%. I am anticipating the hemorrhoids will get a lot more worse with pushing…My question is with my situation, when would be a good time to schedule surgery to get this taken care of care of to minimize complications like infection and hemorrhage? Thanks

I am a 23 year old male Engineer in a foreign land. And I got it back in 2020 when I was junior in college. If it has ring like structures when it prolapses, it's your rectum, if it's swelled and bubbly structure it most probably internal hemorrhoid.
Now After 3 years it worsened and got bigger, I am talking with my manager tomorrow. I can not live like this. I am getting it sorted out by any means.

Hey Doc I gotta stage 2 hemorrhoid that slides out when I am on a toliet and slides back in an hour later so its bigger stage 2 I guess. Now I've had him for a year or two and it always bled after stool and I figured that I can't live like this anymore. So I decided to change my life in general ( became vegan, more active physically, applying some creams etc...). Now its a little better because it doesn't hurt when I poop since my stool is soft and it doesn't bleed! But the hemorrhoid is still there obviously...Now I've always tried to avoid surgery because I've talked to people who had them and some of them said they felt the worst pain in their life! Also they can come back after surgery as well. So that's why I've been against it so far. But on another I've heard that laser surgery or even rubber band are not as painfull so i've been thinking about that. Can you give me some advice on that it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Hi Dr Chung, can you talk about the effectiveness of laser treatment (surgery) is for stage 3 prolapsed internal hemorrhoids? I am unhappily a “new sufferer” . This just happened 2-3 weeks ago. Luckily, only pain on defecation so far. But i have to sometimes push back the hemorrhoid inside my rectum where it usually stays until I poop again. Then, maybe it protrudes a bit, or maybe not. Compared to the banding procedure, what about laser treatment to fix or remove it? Which, if either treatment, is better; meaning less pain during recovery and success at keeping the hemorrhoid from reappearing at some point in the future?

    First banding of three haemorrhoids
    2010
    One haemorrhoid banded
    2012
    One haemorrhoid injection
For months later, one haemorrhoid banded because injection did not really work
    2020 late in year
    Three grade two haemorrhoids banded
    2023
Two small internal haemorrhoids banded which used to come out with bowl movements but go back in with gentle persuasion.
Getting in early before they progress is paramount.
I’m now 60 years old and my condition is better than when I was in my 40s.
I’ve seen some of the videos of hemorrhoidectomy and I really don’t know how they progress that far without causing you to act. I’m kind of glad I’m sensitive to these changes because I’m more likely to act soon enough.
Admittedly I’ve been weight training since my 20s and lifting heavy weights does not help if you are prone to this condition.
Now though my diet is good and I drink plenty of water so better than ever.
When I was younger I used to strain a lot due to hard stools. All in all I feel very lucky so far. And hopefully will stay on top of things.
I hope my story will be of help.
Update. Just got checked out and was told that I have a few grade 1s and one small grade two and this is pretty normal. I’m very happy with this as I now know that by getting my diet and fluid intake correct, that this condition can be overcome but you must catch it early enough.

I was then left with a draining wound for 12 months which finally dried itself up but I now have an area of scar tissue and have an external hemorrhoid right in the exact area where the scarring is.
