  • TEAM JO-JO:
Big Hugh and Oneofthepack had eagerly awaited this Saturday, the day that promised optimal conditions for their Lake P adventure aboard Bay Flat Jr. The wind, which had been a persistent obstacle on previous attempts, was now cooperating perfectly. The tide was in their favor, and the water clarity, rated at an impressive 7 plus, hinted at promising fishing prospects.
As they set out, the excitement was palpable. The sun danced on the water’s surface, creating a picturesque scene that only heightened their anticipation. The Bay Flat Jr cut through the calm waters with ease, heading towards the familiar trestles where Silverwonders were known to roam.
However, nature’s surprises were in store. Despite the ideal conditions, the absence of the Loons, those reliable indicators of bustling fish activity, was conspicuous. Oneofthepack and Big Hugh exchanged knowing looks, understanding that even the most promising days could throw unexpected challenges.
Nevertheless, they remained undeterred, their experience teaching them the value of patience and persistence in the face of nature’s whims. They adjusted their tactics, exploring different areas around the trestles, testing various bait and lure combinations, all in pursuit of the elusive Silverwonders.
Their conversation was punctuated by shared stories of past fishing adventures, strategies honed over years of chasing these prized catches, and the camaraderie that comes with each trip on the water. As the day progressed, the conversation shifted from anticipation to reflection, appreciating the simple joy of being on the water, regardless of the day’s catch.
By the time they headed back to shore, the sun casting a golden glow over the lake, they may not have reeled in Silverwonders, but they had certainly reeled in another memorable day on Lake P, filled with

    • (1) Rattle Trap rig, Big Hugh caught

    • Tasty friend chicken lunch as provided by Big Hugh
    • Being on the water with one of the best fisherperson me know that be Big Hugh
    • Got to see every fishing boat known to man, must have had over 80 plus on water today
    • Quick / easy trip
    • Lessons learned
 Grass has developed along trestles pilings, we caught it a bunch of times today:
 Loons still not around, no Loons no fish
 Not much bait in water
     Water clarity a 7 plus
 Flounders not that active today
 Silverwonders hard to find and to entice them to attack Lake P Troll rig
 Saw a lot with live shrimp, did not see much action there either
 Yamaha (6) gallon fuel tank still pouring out fuel in boat when hose removed, this not good at all.
    • Best fishing trip of my life, until the next one.
    Good Fishing

The D spot would likely have been more productive but as you know it would take 1-1/2 hours to get there because of the green bridge being closed on weekends lately. Sticking with local water is sometimes the best decision. Lake P looked fairly clear; certainly fishable. Like The Loving Spoonnful’s 1970’s song “Do you believe in magic”. You’ll did alright for the effort and belief. I would definitely NOT swim in or around Lake P., or any other tidal water. Sharks get hungry too and they definitely scare the fish away. Then there are alligators…

The check valve is not sealing. If the fitting is separate from the pick up, replace the fitting that is spewing fuel when disconnected. It should check and not allow fuel to spill. It is a spring loaded check ball which presses against a rubber seal.
