@@wellchamp100 yea making 27” the max it just doesn’t make sense to me to if they are having a juvenile population problem. There are so many spawning size reds in the lake and all over Louisiana marshes that are spawning every year but the small ones until this year were missing. I believe there is a massive over population of bull reds from lack of harvesting(since everyone only wants 16-20”) that is negatively affecting the juvenile growth. But this year all the reds that have been missing are showing up so I just skeptical about the government regulating our limits because they never stop once they start. If they put in writing that it expires in 2-3 years and limits/size return to normal than I’d be ok with it. I fish the causeway a lot and 99% of the reds we catch are bulls and we will never get to keep the reds from there again. Btw love my matrix rod with 17lb fluorocarbon to fight the reds on the pylons.
There is not enough GULFCOAST preservation of Reds and Trout. We have the same problem here. That’s a leech 😂😂
My opinion is if they are going to mess with the redfish size they should make it 16”-24”. They are best eating ones.
