  • The T90 Tank has a length of 6.8 meters or 22.3 feet measuring only the Hull.
    It has a Width of 3.78 meters or 12.4 feet, while it has a height of just 2.3 meters or 7.5 feet.
    Comparing this to an average person will help you understand it better or even more interesting, let’s compare this to the World’s tallest Human at 8 feet 3 inches. as you can see it looks very small.
    This is the T 14 R mata tank, as you can see it’s much bigger and larger.
    Just besides the T90 tank is the British Challenger 2 , the Americans, Abrams tank, and the Lehperd 2A6 tank.
    Soviet tank philosophy is to have lighter and Lower profile tanks, the reason why it weighs around 48 Tonnes or 52 US Tonnes.
    Let’s Start from the front, it has an improved main gun a 125 mm Smooth Bore Gun, Interestingly it's the same Gun, being fitted on the T-14 Armata.
    Just beside it is the 7.5 mm Machine gun that could be fired by the Gunner using Fire control systems.

    The relatively light weight, reduced dimensions and low profile of the tank provide a number of important advantages. These are increased cross-country ability through mud and small bridges, reduced visibility of the tank and more chances of a miss when trying to hit this tank. You should also not forget that this and other Russian tanks are much more mass produced. Russian technology is also cheaper, less demanding in operation and maintenance, and this is often forgotten. In the final comparison of all parameters, the Russian tank and other Russian weapons are much better suited for mass war

      "Russian technology is also cheaper, less demanding in maintenance and operation"
      Which likely just means it won't operate as well as its Western counterparts do (furthermore many of the newer tanks like T90 and Armada use imported technology from the west or elsewhere,
      computers for various things Optics, Etc so its not even Russian technology (Oh and it tends to be older tek aswell)

    In over 90% of the "ammo detonation" cases it is NOT the autoloader that detonates / cooks off in T72 tanks, but the extra ammo carried outside the carousel. Ammo detonation does not have anything to do with the carousel, since all the tanks detonate if the ammunition they carry inside is inside their hulls (just like with Leopard 2 for example). The thing is the carousel is a reallly small target in the T72 (its much smaller than T64 or T80 carousel) and it has some protection, but it also can carry only 22 rounds. Hence, the need for storing the extra ammo in a bustle in T90M, rather than loosely around the turret and hull.

      Was going to say the same. There's a lot of people out there ridiculizing russian tanks (all thanks to the memes) that don't know that. Funny enough, all the tanks in the worls excluding some very very few modern tanks store rounds inside the vehicle. Their turrets don't blow up because there is no carrousel autoloader to ignite when a round pierces it. Fun fact is that the crew inside don't really give a shit if the turret ejects or not, they are dead anyway.

    • @user-tv7fg7wt2d
      @user-tv7fg7wt2d 11 месяцев назад +118

      @@iasha740 Not having a carousel does not prevent turrets from blowing off. Leo 2s in Turkey got their turrets pop even though they didn't have a carousel. Type 69s during the Gulf War got theirs popped as well. As long as enough pressure is pumped to the turret, then it will blow off.

    • @erichammond9308
      @erichammond9308 11 месяцев назад +66

      Actually, have you ever heard of "blow-out panels"? Most modern NATO tanks are equipped with blow-out panels that vent the explosion and won't launch their turret. The autoloader system prevents the use of blow-out panels. So, yeah, the autoloader system is what causes the Russian tanks to launch turret and crew into low earth orbit when they are hit.

    Steering works a bit differently, lever has two positions. First engages lower gear in planetary mechanism so the corresponding track moves slower. Pulling both levers together slows the tank but puts more force on tracks, this is used to clear most difficult obstacles. Second position applies brake to that side.

    • @azgarogly

      @@azgarogly No. T-62 and earlier models had one main gearbox and two of these two-stage ones on sides for turning the tank. But one gear in them was direct and one low so the lever was working just the same. T-72 and newer got two independent main gearboxes, one for each side, and lever engages lower gear in corresponding one when pulled. Although I was told that they don't have that second "brake" position anymore, and latest T-90M got steering wheel instead.

    Ручная КПП на т72 и т80 работают отлично и легко переключаются, управление рычагами вообще элементарное интуитивно понятное. Мне в свое время чтобы начать управлять этими танками понадобилось примерно две минуты на разъяснение , я дольше сиденье под себя настраивал. There are some mistakes in your video
    1. T-90M weights ~51t, 2023 variant is around 52t.
    2. T-14 has a different gun (2A82, but to be honest I've heard that they might put it in T-90M in the future).
    3. Commanders machinegun can be 7.62mm and 12.7mm which depends on what module was supplied to the field
    4. Every transmission there is automatic, if there even is another one. There is a mythical "new" transmission with a better reverse speed, but we don't have any proofs of it's existence.
    5. T-90M is supposed to get hard kill system sometime in the future, it was finally accepted into production.

    1. Hitting the carousel is extremely unlikely, because it is very low. The tower is torn off only when the reserve ammunition located in the niches of the tank ignites. Almost all tanks have such compartments in the hull. In the T-90, the carousel was additionally armored and the niches in the turret were removed to further reduce the likelihood of fire.
    2. The presence of a steering wheel in the t-90 does not depend on the "overhead", but on the modification of the t-90.
    3. If the carousel runs out of shells (and this happens extremely rarely), the tank commander and gunner act in turn as loaders.
    4. The T-90 has significantly smaller areas of vulnerability compared to other tanks.
    5. And most importantly, like previous tanks, the T-90 can fire missiles from a tank gun. You didn't say anything about it.

      @Andy-kl1ry 7 месяцев назад +1

      Unfortunately, we have also seen the beautiful design of the burning Leopard and Challenger tanks, and someday we will see the design of the burning Abrams tank. ;) It doesn’t matter what a tank looks like, the main thing is that it performs its tasks. The designers of Russian tanks are brilliant because they very quickly adapted the tank for war with drones. English, German and American developers are not even going to do this. Which only emphasizes that the Russians are trying to save the lives of their fighters, while the Europeans and Americans are leading them to slaughter.@@snuggleseal

    • @snuggleseal
      @snuggleseal 7 месяцев назад

      @Andy-kl1ry look at all that nonsense you just wrote! The point of the T90M being poorly designed is still the ammunition carousel sitting directly underneath the crew. We've seen in Ukraine the T90M be destroyed with basic drones that still are able to penetrate the ammunition, which causes the crew to burn alive, and the turret explodes. You can count on one hand the Challenger tanks destroyed, so stop trying to cope by changing the subject. we all know the Challenger and Abrams have far superior crew safety with completely segregated ammunition. We've seen in Ukraine the Russian T90 be destroyed with grenades, actual grenades not RPGs or other bombs, grenades dropped through an open hatch then the fire starts so fast the crew burn alive. It's a terrible design.

    • @Andy-kl1ry
      @Andy-kl1ry 7 месяцев назад

      Now you, read that nonsense you just wrote! :) Your knowledge about Russian tanks is limited only by the information that propagandists put into your head. That’s why you are so loudly indignant :)) If you had bothered to look for information a little, you would have been surprised to learn that almost all world tank building schools have the habit of storing ammunition inside the tank. Also, if you Googled a little, you would find statistics on the percentage of hits in the very bottom part of the tank's hull, which is where the carousel is located. The number of destroyed Challenger tanks can be counted on one hand, only because they are FORBIDDEN to be put into direct combat with Russian troops, so that their reputation is not destroyed in the same way as was done with the Leopard tanks. And it is for this same reason that the delivery of Abrams to the combat zone is being deliberately delayed. After all, no one will need a marketing tank that burns perfectly even if hit by a heavy machine gun ;)). And the new design of the T80 and T90, which I wrote about, provides protection against javelins and drones hitting an open hatch. By the way, most of these videos are fake, created by Ukrainian propaganda for simpletons like you. PS Believe less in propaganda and live more with your own mind, that is why God gave you mind.@@snuggleseal

    8:28 Armor increase wont eliminate the problem, the explosion would rip that turret apart anyway. Its more about shrapnels of the entering projectiles not detonating them in the first place and causing, hopefully, less damage.
    10:08 its called slat armour officially but welded structure is decribing it fairly well i guess
    11:29 No mbt is suited for urban combat and its not due to power to weight ratio or ground pressure.. Some can do better than others but they all fail due to simple inability to even retaliate due to limited elevation of those big cannons and having so many exposed angles around you while your own situational awareness is si limited that you have to completely rely on other units. Not beeing political here but we saw russians try to bring their mbt's into urban places and it failed hard enough for them to avoid it after.
    But overall great job, I would not want to make it seem like the rest of the video was not great in terms of accuracy or visual representation. Im glad that this subject is getting more and more visual material.

      Yeah if the turret gets penetrated the crew is probably finished regardless of what happens to the ammo. It doesn't take much to kill people when you're talking about pieces of white hot metal traveling hundreds of meters per second. You can turn the inside of a tank into a blender without much visual indication at all from the outside that anything is amiss...
