The thing about ww2 Germany mass producing tanks was not their problem, they could have done that. But it would have been useless, since they didn't have the fuel for a massive tank army. Also Hitler made the same mistake that Putin did in Ukraine. He thought once his army enters the Soviet Union, their whole "rotten structure" would collapse.
That is a proposal for the Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf. H2, using a regular Tiger I chassis and a new turret designed by Rheinmetall mounting the 75mm L70 gun.

I was a Leopard 2 commander in the 90th. Sorry, you forgot the most important part of the Leopard2. The Leopard 2 simulators were already in the 90th light years ahead in technology. Took 3 month to teach a crew, only with little time on a real tank.

The fins on the apfsds ammunition actually prevent spin on the projectile. Unlike regular bullets, apfsds rounds will not spin they will tumble end over end if fired out of a rifled gun. That is why tank cannons use smoothbore guns.
@@Aitellythe German leopards are also in Canada and they used their own round called the KE-W which is similarly used on the Australian abrams. Both tanks with the same shell can do the same damage to a different tank However the Canadian leopard was used on the leopard 2a4…. So it shares its weaknesses too In appearance it’s similar to a leopard 2a5 but with the gunner sights is where the a4 is normally used which is also a Good weakness for the Canadian tank. But at least it’s safe to say when Canada has a leopard they aren’t sorry anymore
The turret wedges are not simply spaced armor, but modular system with multiple steps. It is a misconception that the spaced armor is „enough“ to destabilize a long-rod penetrator. I’ve seen it explained quite often in this comment section. I’m going to keep it short: - The front of the wedge has heavy-NxRA (non-explosive reactive armor) elements that work similarly to the heavy-ERA „RELIKT“ which is in Russian use. These basically expand into different directions when being in contact with the HEAT-jet/APFSDS. This causes directional stress that results in the penetrator being deformed and broken. - The destabilized remaining bits of the penetrator are lastly going to hit the main armor. These are nowhere close capable of penetrating it. The main internal armor has been upgraded several times, and reportedly, recently in the 2A7V too. It consists of ceramics, titanium, tungsten and multiple other high streng steel alloys and materials.
Finally 😁 Waited 6 days for this video.... Btw i was thought that video is on kf51 panther tank but I was wrong 🙂 & NXT video on Tata Kestrel armour fighting vehicle pls 🙏
Nice video. I will note that there is one inaccuracy with the tank's steering: If the controls were turned to the left or right, the tank would move around a circular path instead of moving in a straight line.
In 4:28, APFSDS darts do not spin. Spinning is only effective for a shell with length/diameter ratio of approximately 6. With the ratio of 20, APFSDS will get unnecessary moments if it spins, thus they just use fins to stabilise the dart, thus the name.
I didn't realize until watching the video just how enormous the gun on the 2A6 looks compared to the older models, shame you didn't cover the newer Leo 2 tanks like the 2A7v
The leopard 2A6 is not enormous at all with similar size as older A4. The physical difference are the L55 gun, additional armor & CITV. The largest leopard is the A4 evolution bought by Singapore & Indonesia army. Author left out the risk of ammo stowed next to driver which would end up disastrous. Leopard 2A6 armor is inferior than Challenger 2 & M-1A2 by the way. We'll get to see how leopard 2a6 fares over Ukraine later on

correction. the fins on an APFSDS are NOT there to make the round spin, rather they stops the round from spinning as a spinning movement would destabilize this kind of rodd shaped projectile
@Aitelly for an artillery round it true because it's not Rodd shaped like an apfsds round. And artillery round aswell as almost all the older gunshells from mid 1900s have more of an elliptical shape which will rightfully stabilize the shell with a spinning motion. It's all physics and the difference between an elyptically shaped round and a rodd-shaped round
You should know that russian T-90s tank has got a laser irradiation sensors, and it means that if Leopard2 will try to determine a distance with laser rangefinder then T-90 will set an aerosol jam and the cannon of T-90 will be directed to Leopard2. There is no a silver bullet.
In the abrams the gunner presses a button and the computer lases the target and does all the elevation then the gunner fires immediately to give the least time for laser detectors to act laze and blaze.
A very good unbiased summary most people do not include it's pros and cons tbh that's why some people think it's a bit invulnerable which is kind of not true any tank facing any modern digital ATGM will be at danger whether it is Russian or NATO. The development of Top exploding missiles makes every tanks frontal armor useless as it literally penetrates from the roof. Also thanks for explaining the limited vision some people ask why other leopard variants have optics on the wedge armor like the PL version well that's because the wedge armor actually reders the the places covered by it unable to put an extra sensor or optics which is why all the sensors and optics and sensors of the leopard are put on the roof on with a 360 rotating lens and sensors.

You also stated the L/55 can penetrate (with apfsds ) only 450 mm RHA at 2000 which is wrong, modern rounds like DM63 still have over 760mm of penetration at 2000m.

The fins on the apfsds ammunition actually prevent spin on the projectile. Unlike regular bullets, apfsds rounds will not spin they will tumble end over end if fired out of a rifled gun. That is why tank cannons use smoothbore guns.

The turret wedges are not simply spaced armor, but modular system with multiple steps. It is a misconception that the spaced armor is „enough“ to destabilize a long-rod penetrator. I’ve seen it explained quite often in this comment section.
I’m going to keep it short:
- The front of the wedge has heavy-NxRA (non-explosive reactive armor) elements that work similarly to the heavy-ERA „RELIKT“ which is in Russian use.

Author left out the risk of ammo stowed next to driver which would end up disastrous. correction. the fins on an APFSDS are NOT there to make the round spin, rather they stops the round from spinning as a spinning movement would destabilize this kind of rodd shaped projectile
Is this true because an artillery Round was intentionally made to spin from the rifle Gun.

Как показала практика они теперь и с расстояния как слепые котята

Unfortunately quiet a few things wrong. You guys mixed up data of the 2A6 and 2A7. The 2A6 weighs 59,9 tons like stated earlier and at the end it was suddenly 62 tons. You also stated the L/55 can penetrate (with apfsds ) only 450 mm RHA at 2000 which is wrong, modern rounds like DM63 still have over 760mm of penetration at 2000m. Furthermore the leopard 2A7V has multiple cameras and FCGS capabilities. So situational awareness is very good. The 2A7V also has an APU which makes silent operation with low heat signature possible. I’m surprised you didn’t come up with the classic ammo hull storage problem, which was made obsolete in 2007 when Rheinmetall developed new propellants which do not ignite when impacted with shaped charges or kinetic projectiles
