I lost my wallet in Reykjavik. It fell out on the street while I was walking. I backtracked when I realized it was missing and found it still lying there. When I told a guy about it that night, he said, "Why were you worried? No one would've taken it." Definitely NOT in America anymore.

As a 6'4 icelandic man myself...I can vouche that not every man goes for one night stands. It's normally a two night stand. 2 nights of sex before getting to know you. That way, we'd know the 1st night wasn't a fluke. Cause on the 3rd night...it's usually when we propose...to try in getting to know you. And a couple of one night stands more, we just get down on our knees and propose marriage. We really don't like wasting time.

The word “please” does exist in Icelandic, it’s “vinsamlegast”, most commonly paired with other polite words such as “gætiru” or “could you”. So basically please = could you please in Icelandic.

While it is true that Icelandic does not have any word that directly translates to please, we do often say "takk" or thanks instead so "yes, please." would often just be Já, takk.". I'm still very happy you decided to put the "þetta reddast" phylosophy as I myself live by that.
