You are an impressive young man where you’ve learned your mechanics from at such a young age. It’s absolutely incredible people say you’re silver spooned fed. I don’t think you would be up to your elbows in grease !!! there is no question. You should be proud of yourself. You come across as being a good person. I hope your next one is 100 footer keep being you boss.

Gus, you are a beast! Working your ass off to chase your dreams! I am 58 and disabled and I live vicariously through your videos and adventures. You never cease to amaze me and you make your own way through this life without the help of parents, or a trust fund or anything resembling assistance. A little help from your good friends and you are your own man. You should hold your head up high brother. I can't believe you have your truck license and hauled that huge boat and your mechanic skills are nothing but impressive. I'm not trying to stroke your ego, you are an amazing guy! I wish my two sons would take a page from your life and do half as well as you are. I'm glad you made this video. I've been wondering what you have been up to. A hell of a lot apparently lol. I'm so looking forward to your adventure in your new big yacht! You've already put so much work into her and so much more to follow! I'll try to support you in Patreon. You do some gnarly jobs Gus. Replacing all the heads, head hoses and head pumps ranks at the bottom of appealing jobs. I hope you bought the Broward for a song, because you have repaired/replaced almost all major systems -- electrical, plumbing, most engine pumps and systems, corroded major parts, not to mention vast amounts of cosmetic work. You are a man possessed at the yard -- working long into the evening to finish jobs. Your boss seems like a really talented guy, you are lucky to be able to learn from him. Thanks for a wonderful video.

Good stuff Gus. I remember the first and last time I drove a tractor trailer rig. I was in the Army and held the "Qualified to Operate Heavy" rating, but never used it for anything bigger than a deuce and a half. One day, at Fort Knox we had to go retrieve a downed Bell TH-13 helicopter that had to land at a farm after losing power.
I was told to go get a 10 ton tractor and a high flat trailer from the motor pool. I hooked up and brought it to the hangar, then my co-driver drove us out to the farm. Once we had the helicopter loaded it was a bit over height and the skids hung out past the trailer deck about 6 inches on each side. We brought railroad ties to stick under it for extra support(making it higher) and tied it down, with 6 guys riding on back helping hold it steady. I started back on the two lane roads, nearly nicking the mail boxes along berm. When there was no oncoming traffic I got more to the center of the road. Soon we approached an intersection with a flashing light hanging down in the middle. I looked in the left mirror and there was Sarge waving and pointing. I just smiled back and kept boring straight for the light, with the front rotor blade positioned to spear it. I eased right just before the intersection, hoping the Sarge would crap his pants. Once safely back at the hangar I backed the rig in to where the transmission shaft was directly under the hook of the overhead crane, on the first try. The base General was standing there watching and when I got out of the cab, he said, "You looked like you knew what you were doing." I relied, "First time driving a rig, Sir."

I am jealous of all the knowledge you have and the trust in yourself you have. As you often say, I will make it happen. You have no clue how this says a lot about someone. You are what I call a Genius. And most of all, you are such a great guy!!!

I think what you should do is cut your videos in half and send them out a couple days or weeks apart. I love your channel and want you to make lots of money so you can do and travel even more. Love the videos. keep it up

I like Chip. You should keep him.
Also… get rid of the copper. PEX can expand more without bursting and it’s easy to work with.

On the teak, you might consider teak oil instead of varnish. The varnish looks great for about a month then the process starts all over again. Teak oil is easy, looks nice and no peeling. Just a thought.

Hi Gus, I'm no mechanic but I've been through the journey that your on. I think that short oil line from the engine to the transmission provides power (oil Pressure) to the clutch in the transmission. In effect when the engine starts the oil pressure enables the clutch in the transmission to work and allow gear selection. Hope this helps! Enjoy the journey!
