    Thanks. I got the cheap three jaw puller at O'Reilly. I cranked and cranked with no luck. Got out my impact gun, which I thought might destroy something. I closed my eyes, pulled the trigger, and bingo. Success!

    This worked! Used this technique on a Kenmore 90s series. I had to tighten it a bit more for it to be disloged, but it worked. Thank you SO much!

    It worked it worked it worked! I LOVE YOU! LOL. I had a repair guy come out and say no way no how done deal. I did it and it was relatively easy. I'm a 50 yo woman...my husband did help a little. One thing to note, I bought both a 4 and 6 inch puller and the 4 didn't fit mine..."whirlpool from 90s". I needed the 6 inch. Any way a million thanks to you

    This method works great!!! I used a large three arm 5 ton puller from AutoZone, part#57078, free rental, and had a pair of vise grips that matched the spline pattern perfectly!! Used an impact driver on low power with the socket and it backed right out. Used a heat gun to warm area, don’t use a torch I will melt the rubber seals! Thanks Again!!!

    It worked like a champ. Another video said it wouldn't work but I trusted this method. I just kept cranking and it popped this bad boy right off. Thanks again!

      Give the drive block a shot of WD-40, let it sit, then hold a piece of wood on top of the drive block, like a small section of 2x4, and strike with a hammer. I wouldn’t hit the drive block directly with the hammer as you may damage your tub flange.

    Your system was fantastic - I went to Harbor freight and bought a set a pullers. But it did take me about 3 hours to get it out. Same washer as yours in the video. I was stuck like hard cement. Thank you again for your plain spoken extremely helpful video!!

    Glad I found this.
    I think I have done it before but my old mind did remember until I saw this.
    I think this explains a fear puller being in one of my appliances tool bags.

    Thank you so much. I tried everything for a week to unstuck my inner basket, and I looked up everything on RUclips and Google, but this just took only a minute. I am genuinely surprised I was unable to find this technique anywhere else. You're doing great work. Thanks again.

    The only thing that I would add for future DIYers is, put the bolt back in the threaded hole before placing the puller. That will prevent damaging the threads at the top of the hole. You may have to put a prick punch mark on top of the center of the bolt head if there is a point on the end of the puller screw stud. That will prevent the puller shaft from drifting as screw pressure is applied.

    I watch a lot of other videos with c clamps and even one with a guy using a scissor car jack. Lol. But this has to be the easiest one to do just make sure u use the vice grip like he mentioned or it will not work. Ty for curing my headache lol

    This is an INCREDIBLE video thank you sooo much for sharing .I have just one question before I attempt to try this method and you can correct me if i`m wrong. Is the drive block coming of the shaft with the tub & what size puller are you using? Sorry that`s Two questions. My Tub is really really stuck.

    • @jackofalltrades3880
      @jackofalltrades3880  8 месяцев назад

      1. The drive block should come off with the tub. Once you pull the tub, you can loosen and remove the spanner nut and carefully tap the drive block out with a small block of wood and hammer. 2. It’s a two jaw 4” gear puller.

      Thanks for resonding to my questions! I tried first thing this morning with the puller .When I used the puller the tub does`nt come off but the shaft just goes down into the drive block and becomes very tight . Is that suppose to happen@@jackofalltrades3880

    • @jackofalltrades3880
      @jackofalltrades3880  8 месяцев назад

      @@horacelee880 Try to loosen the spanner nut first and put it back on hand tight before you set up the puller? If the transmission shaft is going down then what you are doing is working and the drive block is becoming free. Keep trying. Use some WD40 if you have it and spray the drive block and shaft.

    I have two questions:
    1) Is there any reason not to use a three-armed puller instead of a two-armed like you are using, and
    2) Should one take precautions or be worried about deforming the top of the transmission shaft where the puller point is resting?

    • @jackofalltrades3880
      @jackofalltrades3880  10 месяцев назад +1

      I suppose you could use a 3 armed puller but it may be more cumbersome to position due to the angles involved and flange space. That transmission shaft is pretty tough. If you’re concerned about deforming it, I suppose you could insert something in between the puller and shaft that could handle some pressure.

      @@jackofalltrades3880 Thank you! I've been spritzing that area with DeepCreep Seafoam every few hours for 2 days now. Hopefully by the time I pick up the pullers today, it'll be ready to pop right off!
