Another cool fact about this interesting movie: The character of Zombo on the TV program Herman was watching was featured in the original series. Eddie idolized Zombo and won a contest that allowed him to visit the set of the show. He became very upset when he discovered Zombo was just an actor in make-up. And, in the fashion of 1950s-60s TV. Executive Meddling: Universal wouldn't let the movie be Deliberately Monochrome to match the look of the original TV series - so other than the short black and white sequences he was allowed, Rob Zombie went for "the opposite of black and white" by using bright, oversaturated colors. While it didn't affect the direction of the film as much, Grandpa/The Count also couldn't be shown smoking a cigar as he often does in the original series.

Fun Fact at 5:15! Sylvester McCoy 7th Doctor never actually had a sonic screwdriver since the showrunner at the time, John Nathan-Turner, though that it would be more useful for the Doctor to think of an ingenious way to get out of problems without relying on the sonic

I got stuff to say too. I love the costumes and set designs, it's so colorful and odd it helps the movie really stand out. And after watching it, my sister said something that made this really click in my head. "When my nephew's older, he's gonna love this movie". This is a great movie to ease little kids into horror. Like you said, it's an 80's pg. There's enough scary stuff to give the kids a jump, but enough jokes to calm them back down.

Sadly this is the first Rob Zombie's movie to not be rated R. Although now i kind of wonder what a rated R version of the Munsters would be like probably would have a lot of Grandpa trying to cut off people's head's with a chainsaw and feeding them their own blood

NBC and Bryan Fuller actually attempted a dark and edgy Munsters series about a decade ago. Like, they were supposed to be actual murderous monsters in it. It was called “Mockingbird Lane” and starred Jerry O’Connell as Herman, Portia de Rossi as Lily, and Eddie Izzard as Grandpa. It got a pilot, but never went anywhere.

It is a beautiful tribute to the original series, the colour scheme is gorgeous, the actors all do a great job, and the story, while being a little weak in places, captures the spirit of the original series nicely. My whole thing about how Herman and Lily act so different from how they did on the show, is because it supposedly took place before they met, before Eddie came along.
In the actual show, they've been married for several years with a kid, so it;'s natural that they've matured and simmered down once the responsibility of parenting came along.

"We're Normal, just like you." despite their weirdness.
    The Munsters is more:
"We're Normal, what's wrong with you?"
One is more about embracing the strangeness, while the other places it on a podium.
