Too bad it’s underpowered and slow. According to Alex on Autos, this new 2025 Kicks SR AWD will actually be slower than the old Kicks due to the extra 400-500 pounds of weight. This is despite the 19 extra horsepower. Expect a zero to 60 of 12-13 seconds. Also with the top SR Kicks trim now touching 30k most likely, it’s just not an affordable city car anymore, I’d rather buy a base Rogue or Forester or CX-5
Nissan deserves credit here for taking chances on the styling and creating a fantastic looking vehicle, both inside and out. This thing will be a hit for them.
That front end looks amazing..plus the cabin..one of the most under rated thing in nissan vehicles is the armrest padding...easily one of the best..super bargin.
I remember test driving a Maxima like 6-7 years ago and being shocked at how cushy all the padding was where your elbows rest. Felt better than a german car in terms of comfortability.
I had a 2021 Kicks as a rental for a week a few years ago and thought it to be a kind of fun good little commuter. This new version is striking comparatively, and with additional power, all-wheel drive, upgraded features abound is a definite player in the segment.
@@johnkonde1975I'd have neither. Mazda is gonna depreciate a lot and they have cheap paint on their cars. Which is a big reason why they are so cheap along with they put the same engine and transmission in everything.

Eh, if it were truly Mexican, every passenger space in the vehicle would be a different color; pink driver, blue passenger, green back seats, yellow trunk space.
I think the CVT is fine, their new ones like the CVT-X you don't even notice its a CVT. But it definitely needed the 2.5 liter engine in this, 180hp from that would feel about right for a 3100lb vehicle.
Ya nissan knock it of the park!! 👍👍👍👍👍 ya since the rouge sport and qashqai in Canada is being drop they made a car that combines both models!! Can’t wait to test drive it!!…. Great job on the review!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Little touches like having the light source on both the left AND the right in the trunk is so important to real world ownership and costs practically nothing. Nissan paying attention to these things is a good sign.
5:10 oh this is unfortunate, I was hoping it had a floating center console like the Nissan Rogue. The empty space above the floating part is more useful than you would at first think, I use it religiously and its hard to live without once you have it.
Nice video! I'll add that the the Kicks is actually a replacement for the Juke; The Note was just pulled on it's own basis, but yes it can serve as a alternative for the Note as well.
I drive for a company who uses the first gen kicks as part of our fleet and can confirm we've had multiple transmissions below at 100,000 miles. Not exactly sure that's the most reliable
I drove a 2022 versa and never had any issues. I just turned it in for an Ariya though, so i cant say how the longevity of it is. But yea, never gave me any issues in the 2 years I had it
It’s definitely a better car than the outgoing model, however, I’m sure that means it will cost significantly more. Wasn’t the point of the kicks to be an affordable vehicle?
Nissan like the other greedy carmakers, only care about fat profit margins, not making affordable cars. Fat profit margins means selling more expensive cars loaded with luxury features. Sad
The old Kicks has 25 cubic feat rear storage. This has either 30 or 24 (AWD) cubic feat. Why would you say twice as much storage in the redesign? Wrong.
I would have never bought the current Nissan Kicks, I thought it was just too underpowered and cramped for the price, but I'm impressed with this new model and I will definitely check it out once it hits dealership lots. I rented a 2024 Nissan Sentra recently while on vacation and I was surprised at how smooth and responsive it was despite the slightly underpowered hp and torque on paper, great for a daily driver.
