    Versa Note owner here. This was what I've been waiting for. I was ready to jump to an audi Q3, but if this is priced right and the interior is not too loud, I'm staying with Nissan.

    - pano roof
    - a little more horsepower

      Are you sure about a Pano Roof. You have to deal with potential leaks, draining the tubes. I had a sunroof car before and it leaked causing the sunroof frame to crack causing over 2 k in repairs. I never want another car with a sunroof. Not worth it. Plus it takes away headroom.

    • @Jan96106
      @Jan96106 8 месяцев назад +11

      Yes. Everyone wants a low price and excellent mileage, but then they want exactly the same features of a much more expensive car, and they want a power engine that gobbles gas. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

    Great review. Many of the negative comments about the product are both stupid and patently false. Nissan (like Hyundai and Kia) have done their homework and actually listened to consumer preferences over time (e.g., ICEs, feature-rich content, modern cutting-edge design and notable warranty programs). American and German automakers should be looking over their shoulders.

I am not fan of either.

  • @jeffer1101
    @jeffer1101 8 месяцев назад +8

    Likely a good idea to consolidate the Kicks and Qashqai/Rogue Sport offerings into the new Kicks. I see a lot of Kicks around here and some Qashqais (but not a lot, I think most move to the Rogue instead). I'm sure they will price it right and it will likely sell quite well as it looks to be well equipped. If I had to pick something I didn't like, I find the wheels on that SR trim seem a bit off. Not the design, but having a 19" low profile wheel on a vehicle like this seems kind of "boy racer" to me. I'm not sure what this new model has in the way of suspension set up, but if it has oversized wheels with low profile tires and a torsion beam rear suspension, it's likely not the best combination. I think a smaller wheel size with a meatier tire (larger side wall) would help smooth the ride out and maybe match the vehicle proportions a bit better.

    What a difference! I was a little ‘too optimistic’ with the last/first generation. I’m not sure it exactly lived up to my/people’s expectations. It was a value offer that had a questionably weak CVT. This one is a whole different animal. I’m impressed, despite its almost cartoonish looking (but original) rear hips. Perhaps, I’ll reserve judgment this time around… at least for now. Thanks for the video

This new SR trim is impressive but I'm excited to see what the S and SV trims would look like as these would be the ones I would be most inclined to buy. If the speculated pricing of $23-$28k was true it would definitely be competitive with hot selling rivals like Honda HR-V, Subaru Crosstrek, Chevy Trax, Mazda CX-30, Toyota Corolla Cross and Hyundai Kona

    Design looks nice, but touch capacitive buttons are a big let down, the 19” and 17” wheels even are probably too much for a safe drive on pothole riddled streets. Love that they at least have an optional spare. Legroom doesn’t look good considering you fit in the back only with the front seat moved forward so much that the front passenger doesn’t have the armrest anymore. So overall, nice looking car, for one person, on smooth roads, who doesn’t care about touching the hvac controls or radio.

      I think you are missing the point. We are talking about the value of what one subcompact vehicle offers versus another for possibly the same price. The Kia Seltos offers every feature the Kicks is missing, that may be important to some people although it's not important to you. I have no problem with a vehicle missing features compared to its competitors if it's priced correctly. If it's priced the same with less, we let our viewers know so they can make an informed decision. At this time, we don't know the price of the Kicks but Nissan says they are going to price it competitively. The subcompact class is a highly competitive category, why not add some extra features if you are gong to produce a brand new vehicle. It's not about using your hands to open the lift gate, it's about its about some of its competitors offering this feature like the Mazda CX-30, Toyota Corolla Cross and the Kia Seltos.

    I really like the manual lift gate. We have to stop relying on higher tech that adds to the high prices of cars today.

    If only they made it as a Full EV would have replaced the Leaf. That’s why I purchased a MG4 65 kWh trophy model. Have had 12 Nissans over 25 years.

    Nissan missed the boat on this small SUV. Compared to Mazda’s smallest SUV the CX30, with a base 186 hp, and optional 250 hp turbo, the measly 141 hp doesn’t cut it. I like the dual screens though.

      lol that’s your take? This car is strictly meant for taking you from point a to point B. The engine is small, but you will average 7L/100km which nobody else even comes close to. And the top trim is cheaper than the Mazda, looks nicer than the Mazda, and has a TON more features than the Mazda. Definitely a winner, in fact all Nissan dealerships in my city are sold out through December/january

    It needs a hybrid option...period! Also, have they fixed their transmission issues yet? Hybrid options for nissan vehicles exist outside n. America so why not here. What are we? Chopped liver? Overall, it is nicer than the prior model but Nissan missed the boat totally not offering a hybrid. A hybrid = fuel economy and usually much better performance as the power of this mill, imo, is inadequate for anything but inner city driving.

    It's sad to see how low the performance numbers are getting on these new cars man. It looks nice but 140 hp and 140 torque is sad, + a cvt.

      140 is average in this segment. Similar to hrv and corolla cross. They won’t give you 180+ hp unless you pay over $32k

    would be great little SUV if they have more power and get rid of the CVT

    Touch capacitive buttons? No analog gauges, and now a more expensive to repair screen? Thr AWD and 2L engine now doesnt matter. I can see my in-laws, and my self, not considering this new kicks for a future purchase

    Why wouldany anyone buy a bmw or merc this checks alll the boxes for an average buyer at much lower price. Well done Nissan! I can see a huge wait list for this CUV.

    It’s exactly the same length as a ‘95 Pathfinder now. They’ve taken a conservative approach with the new model, devoid of the quirkiness of the previous models and the quasqai that probably turned some people off. I think it’s going to be a hit, especially in Canada where smaller SUVs are popular.

      Except now Nissan needs something that is smaller than this Kicks because it has grown in size.

      @@davidjym The U in SUV means utility. If you need a vehicle smaller than this then they still have the Versa. I’ve driven the Mazda CX3 which is certainly smaller and found it almost useless. You can fit one suitcase in the back. A Mazda 3 is roomier.

      @@mervinprone people survived just fine in the 90's Sport Utility Vehicles with the CRV, RAV4, and Nissan's own X-Trail. Which the Kicks might be bigger than all of them.

      @@davidjym Yes anybody would notice the enlargement of the SUV and the car too. Today’s Sentra is larger than a Maxima from the 80s. I still happen to think the 90s Pathfider was a perfect size but market conditions seem to demand bigger and bigger. I don’t understand why they haven’t tapped into the 2 door SUV market. I always rent them when I’m on vacation because they’re so much fun but theres hardly any available in North America. Great for two people.

    The new Kicks is now competing with larger «small» SUV class than before. With only 141 hp in its 4WD form, it's lagging the competition.
