A great deal of tech and value here depending on the price when released. If only it didn't have a cvt I too being a loyal Toyota fan w just might have considered it 😢
The more i watch I know buyers who love small compact vehicles will flock to this. Bose sound stereo in the headrest? Bomb. Space is utilized so well. Infotainment screen nicer and bigger than big suvs. Damn Nissan this is nice
Joe’s straight delivery on the joke made it funnier. I don’t think I could have gotten the joke out with laughing. 😂 thanks Joe. That’s why we keep watching.
I was at the New York car show on Saturday and was looking forward to seeing this. I was not disappointed Nissan I think has a home run with this one. I am a loyal Toyota owner… But lately Toyota has been annoying me and I would consider the Kicks… but for me, it is missing a power driver seat, rear seat, vents, and a power tailgate… nice to see the new tech Nissan put into this vehicle. My guess is a fully loaded SR all-wheel-drive will be around $30,000 - 32,000.
100% agreed. I'm looking at a 2024 Corolla cross hybrid right now and the interior has all the charm of a clinical morgue. And Fisher-Price simplicity but not in a good way. It's like the most basic and boring and functionless design I've ever seen in a vehicle. And to make it fully like a death related thing, you have yet another tombstone style - display that sticks up annoyingly rather than being inlaid like this. This is a million times nicer. The only thing I don't see addressed here, please tell me this thing has a brake hold function, and remote start in the fob not as a phone app! I completely disqualified anything Mazda makes because of the bullshit they pulled with remote start as a paid app
Dude!!! Awesome review. I am NOT a fan of Nissan. HOWEVER. This offering looks amazing. The deciding factor (for me) will be pricing. Looking forward to a full Raiti-Review.
I currently have a 2019 Kicks SR and this is definitely alot of steps in the right direction! Way more upgrades and features. Really looking forward to seeing more of this w/ the added horsepower and AWD.
AWD + 8.4 inches of ground clearance is sweet, this is not just a city car anymore but can compete with the crosstrek market/any sub compact. Glad to see them finally addressing the infotainment situation for first time in 10 years on their new offerings.
I love the Nissan Kicks & even it looks good, I feel that Nissan did a good good job. Let K stand for the price because it's not set in stone at this time.
I bought a brand new 2021 Nissan Kicks after I watched your video 3yrs ago. I still love it just the same as I did when I first test drove it. You have me thinking now of getting into the 2025. 😃 Thank you for the awesome videos & thorough explaining. I’m 6ft too & it’s good to know what will work best for my height. Appreciate it!
Not at all what I was expecting for an updated Kicks. It's actually a great improvement. It not only looks better, but sportier, and like a more expensive vehicle. Very happy to see they added all-wheel drive, too. Since I think the Rogue Sport is gone, this was needed. Now if they could only do something about it only being available with the CVT. Can't wait to see you get this out on the road!
My favorite Asian Car Brand since the Infiniti Q45. Let's admit everyone....Nissan is wayyy more Premium, Established, and one of the Sports Car leaders than a Hyundai/Kia could ever be. The new Infiniti QX80. Blowssss Genesis away. Nissan Infiniti had us in a choke hold and still does. Go outside and look at how many Nissans you see on the road. America trusts Nissan.
I just Purchased This 2025 Nissan Kicks SR the 2 tone..Gun Metallic with Red 10/21/24!! I am in LOVE! THE Ride,Technology and all the upgrades! Everyone wants to know,WHAT IS THAT?? I SAY KICKS, GO GET ONE! NISSAN YA DID GOOD!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
This is a great car for the people who will buy it. Your average joe does not care that it has a cvt (which isn’t as bad as it once was). Imo, Nissan could keep the cvt in small cars like this and try to remove them out of their midsize sedans and they would be golden. It’s not like their cars are ugly it’s just the cvt that drives people away.
It's a home run for sure! I just returned a 2024 Nissan Rogue that I had rented for the weekend. It was great, but too big for my liking. I like the look of the new Kicks - inside and out, especially in the SR trim 👍
As an option to the infamous Jatco CVT they should include the option of a manual transmission including on the AWD version. For people who refuse to buy anything with a CVT (especially a Jatco CVT) that would give them an alternative in addition to attracting buyers who prefer manuals and there isn't many other vehicles on the market that offer a manual with AWD so that would make them one of the few.
This is definitely a Pumped Up Kicks! Lol All kidding aside I think Nissan did an amazing job with the Exterior/ Interior. Only concern I have is the power or lack of it.
I own one Nissan which I gave to my son at college. 2017 Maxima SR midnight edition....about 55K miles and never a problem....just replaced battery and never an issue....Wonder if there will be a Maxima upgrade soon?????
I had the opportunity to drive this car as a rental for 2 days since my Rogue was in an accident. I actually liked it very much and I am considering to switch when my lease expires in December.
I personally could not deal with the lagginess of the CVT transmission. This car needs a regular torque converter automatic or manual transmission for the modest amount of power it has.
Right now, mid-September, the lowest I can find in my area for the SR is $27,755. It is $26 something without the floor and cargo mats and two-tone paint and some other add-ons. There aren't many 2025's in yet. They are just being shipped to dealer lots now in my area. They were supposed to be here this summer. Wait till there is a larger supply and the price may drop.
I'm doing my research thinking about buying my first new car. I've been so torn between different makes and models, but I'm thinking this 2025 kicks will win if the price is right. I really want AWD, or else I'd just get a sedan. Back seat space for passengers has also been a concern. So I'm really excited for this to come out. Fingers crossed that the price will still be within my means!
I have a 19-year old Nissan Altima that has served me well. That’s why I will stick with Nissan and purchase this Kicks. It’s likely my last vehicle, so I’m hoping it holds up well.
Given the increase in size, now you wonder will the new Kicks replace the Qashqai model sold in other parts of the world. I definitely think the Kicks will get the e-Power hybrid system by the spring of 2025.
Got a 2020 Sentra SR new. Never had any mechanical issues, minus a recall, just build quality. Volume nob glitches so you have to use the steering wheel controls, the lane departure alert in the door will sometime rattle when you hit a bump and the window controls won’t work unless you lock and unlock them each startup Always been a mixed bag, family has always owned Nissan and it’s usually quality issues if anything.
Over $30k no go. Mazda is the way to go!!! Base cx-30 still has leather seats, heated front seats, blind spot, monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, standard awd, standard remote start, big touchscreen, nice allow wheels, and so on!
I had the 2019 kicks and OMG I WANT THIS CAR. I loved mine, only thing was the horsepower. Merging onto highways was awful since it didn’t pick up fast when flooring it to speed up. But this car looks promising. Love the body.
Don't floor it. That makes it hang up. Instead, gradually but steadily increase speed while you are on the ramp. You will easily be up to speed by the time you run out of ramp and need to merge onto the expressway. I don't even put it in sport mode.
Unmatched by the competition in exterior design execution. Nissan nailed this exterior design. The cvt in the Sentra was always programmed better than the Kicks. I hope that they reprogrammed the cvt to feel more like the Sentra. Last comment. I hope that this is going to replace the Rogue sport also.
I like it but it really comes down to price. If it's 30k the Hyundai kona limited might be a better deal for a compact SUV. More HP and better transmission. Don't like the CVTs
Even though I am a loyal Toyota/Lexus customer the Nissan Kicks should appeal to a lot of people. a lot of great features and tech.
Gotta give credit where credit is due. I salute you for that🫡
Unfortunately Nissan is sticking to their making ugly car practic

Huge interior improvement. Very well done, Nissan.

The red and grey two-tone colors on the exterior is literally eye candy. It is that nice.
It also makes me think of m&m's
It looks like they forgot paint color all the way. LoL
I think it that color combo makes the Kicks look more expensive than it is. The blue also looks nice.
Way better than last generation in terms of styling. Interior is an upgrade too. I can zonk the cvt here but the rest of the competition has it
This is so very true! Very good points!
The HP is pathetic
