I was debating between Nissan kicks and Lexus ux. So I went for Lexus UX Hybrid. I know more expensive but Lexus in my opinion is more reliable. But kicks is cute lol

Bought one yesterday, on the fence, hard to tell, the factory tires are just so terrible, it's all over the road, but it feels like with a little bit of tweaking it's going to be very fast.

Nissan has steadily improved their cars ever since ousting cost cutting Carlos Ghosn a few years ago. Their current CVTs are much improved and more reliable now.
My wife wanted the Corolla Cross until she showed me this. I like this better and i hate cvr transmissions. This looks like something i would buy, for her.. the fact it has a useable back seat is i winner in my book! Our granddaughters car seat will fit nicely 👍

I think overall a very big improvement and a vehicle i could see myself driving. Too bad still with a CVT...i noticed that Nissan is ditching their cvts in some of the more premium vehicles (and getting more positive test drive reviews). Too bad they did not go with a traditional 6 speed auto in this 2025 Kicks. But i understand that the new CVT is allegedly a lot better and hopefully a lot more reliable too.
I just got a new 2024 Nissan kicks sr in boulder grey yesterday! Love her! Im ok with a smaller size b/c it's more comfy to me! The 2025 is nice though! I did test drive it!
23:33 Typo, the AWD is 27 city/ 34 highway/ 30 combined. Also, its probably less top heavy without the pano sunroof. If you've ever picked one of those up they are REALLY heavy compared to just the very thin metal that is usually there.
I think they got the right product to bring the nissan out of financial problems which they are recently facing. I hope this works well to nissan to improve their sales and profits.
I’m conflicted on this car. On one hand, I want to like it because it’s just a functional vehicle and seems to work well. Issue is to me, its best bought at the S and SV trim, and sticking to FWD as you’d be at 23-24k MSRP and under. SV with AWD gets into 25-27k territory and there are better values at 25-27k and up.
the only trim that makes sense in this car is the absolute base. and even then, is it better than the Trax?. its not really a good deal, AWD is not standard, who is buying FWD suvs?. you're better off with Trax, CX-30, Envista,
Nissan their foot into this.. literally. What I heard, the design is inspired by a shoe and I think it really works on this. The kicks has always had a funky and fun look to appeal to the consumers. And I wanna assume the front seats are inspired by a person wearing headphones? It’s definitely a unique vehicle in this segment considering most are basic and nothing of interest.
It’s a nice piece in the lineup. We are Nissan people. A 2024 QX-60 Autograph. A 24 Platinum Rogue AWD and a 2025 Frontier Pro4X 6 ft bed. Yep😊. All because of you guys. Nissan is the new Toyota.
My neighbor has a 2021 Rogue platinum. He has 90k miles and he always does a drain and refill on the transmission fluid every 30k miles. I told him always use oem fluid. Great gas mileage for long drives he says 😁.

One request for Mason - When you measure the width on the tailgate, you need to measure the narrowest point, which of course, is between the wheels. Also, you could have measured the height on the Nissan, if you had simply removed the parcel shelf prior to filming this sequence, and then you would not have had this ‘strop’ about these items would you? Respectfully, mate, you might have an economics degree, but as a college president once said to me, “Degrees do not guarantee intelligence!”
Been seeing a lot of these around (I live near a Nissan dealership). Hard to read the name on the liftgate, was shocked when I finally realized this is the Kicks! And they put a chain driven CVT in it! And AWD! I kinda expected Nissan to just forget about the Kicks. Instead they made it pretty awesome for the money. Nice.
This would be perfect with the 2.5 liter 185 HP engine they’ve had for years. They should have that in the top of the line SR model. Great video guys, thanks!

@@occckid123 the cvt-xs doesn’t have enough torque rating for the 1.5t, so needs more expensive engine and transmission it’d likely cost close to the same as the Rogue at that point

@@occckid123 If we round up, its 4K difference. You don't compare base to base but comparable to comparable. A base Rogue S has 17" alloy wheels, soft touch everything interior, independent rear suspension, and the like, which you have to step up at least to a Kicks SV AWD to even get alloy wheels. That's bit over 26.7 after destination. A Rogue S is $30.6, and remember its a bigger vehicle, with higher end components outside of the powertrain. The 2.5 is much cheaper and can still use the CVTXS, you won't ever get better than that and you're wasting your time if waiting for them to put the 1.5T engine and transmission in the Kicks, it will never happen.
If it's at least 186 hp or more that would be my first choice. Don't understand why they couldn't have put the Altima's engine on that great looking compact suv?

That is a big causal stretch to say it is coming out of the vehicle. It is parked over a puddle. There are all kinds of stains all over that parking lot. One would have to know a lot more to claim it is coming out of the vehicle.

I set the electric seat in my Subaru Crosstrek to where I needed it 3 years ago when I bought the thing and have not touched it again since. Not sure where the hype about electric seats comes from
@@lcann251multiple drivers? I don’t wanna pump my seat to raise and lower it, and you get an infinite amount of adjustments where the manual ones need to “click” into certain spots on the rails. This is kinda of a deal breaker for me especially when it’s $40k here in Canada after taxes.

I wonder how long will it be before the engine start having major issues and the transmission fails, 20,000 km? 30,000 km? Nissan is not really known for reliability quite like Toyota. Most buyers care more about reliability over esthetics, this is why Nissan was never in my top pick when I was out vehicle shopping 2 years ago neither was I ever going to buy any fancy looking Hyundai or Kia, they don't care about longevity for their vehicles they care more about the longevity of returning customers to their service and parts departments.

Yep after all the fees and dealer add ons and registration fees new license plate and taxes it's about $3000 extra dollars after base price. $5000 if you are wanting the upgraded versions. My man just got the Nissan Sentra 2025 SV and it said base was 23,000 it ended up being 29,000 after including the fees of everything.

More of an updated Rogue Sport than a Kicks considering the engine and the AWD. Needs an SR edition with the 1.5T from the Rogue and would get a lot more attention. C'mon Nissan, stop building junk for the rental fleet, and not offering some optional engines.
Lol, boy they tip toed around that motor and the acceleration. I drove it and it's about what you would think 141 horsepower would feel like. Blah... It sucked at highway speeds, if your driving around town rarely going on interstate and certainly not in mountains or hilly areas it would be ok. For me, it was nowhere in the ballpark of a mazda 30, or subaru crosstrek sport. I think it looks good and they really improved it. But drive a crosstrek sport or mazda 30 and you feel a big difference in the smoothness of the ride, Much better suspensions on both of them. I was looking at the 3 of them. And for what I want and need the subaru with the best real all wheel drive system won out. Good try by nissan and they are getting close but still not quite there yet

Not likely, the new CVT-XS is rated for torque just in excess of the 2.5, likely because they are going to start using it with that engine on other vehicles soon too. This 2.0 is not close to being able to stress the CVT-XS.
This is the size vehicle they should make a ev not these big heavy expensive ones there producing . A small battery , small price point , fast charging and this would fly off the shelves . But in th mean time Nissan needs to rid the cvt we all know and hate .

Passing no problem, though I'm not Racing anyone. It is a heavy vehicle, the ride is not bad. I find the seats comfortable. Road noise is minimal.

SV is not top of the line, SR is. the new CVT-XS can handle the 2.5, but the SR is already very expensive. At that point just buy a 200hp Rogue.

Not likely, the new CVT-XS is rated for torque just in excess of the 2.5, likely because they are going to start using it with that engine on other vehicles soon too. This 2.0 is not close to being able to stress the CVT-XS.
This is the size vehicle they should make a ev not these big heavy expensive ones there producing . A small battery , small price point , fast charging and this would fly off the shelves . But in th mean time Nissan needs to rid the cvt we all know and hate .
