I had no idea that swift mend before a big heal would help so much. This guide has made me go from a newbie healer stressed out in a +4 to easily clearing a +12 almost overnight.
As someone who hasn't healed since level 70 the first time around was cool (Burning Crusade), I picked up resto druid for season 4. I have watched several other videos and read guides trying to learn how to be better. This video has single handedly taught me more than hours of the other research. I did not read each talent, I would just copy X build and try to figure it out, this video explained WHY we use this talent or ability. I had no idea swiftmend boosted the next regrowth or wild growth, this is game changing. I also just learned that Nature's swiftness further boosts that into a very potent regrowth in a pinch. I really appreciate you taking the time to teach us newer players the smaller details that large content creators seem to always skip out on. Cheers Sytheala-Mal'Ganis
Thank you so much for this resto druid guide. I knew something was up with my rotation/spec, and I now have the small spec tweaks I need to increase my healing output. Thank you, Javier!
this is such a helpful guide! im new to healing and i think after watching this a few times (so the information really sinks in) i'll have a good grasp on :D such clear and helpful advice!
Too many comment did not read them all, sorry if I am repeating a comment, first off great guide, I would have to say that I learned something that I had forgotten was a thing with life bloom in raids because how you use it in m+ is different. to add to this guide though, LB in an M+ setting should not be used on yourself with how the talent are set up for the druid. Druids are arguably tankiest healers in the game, IB, BS, renew, potions and the list goes on for ways you can stay healthy in a fight. Using LB on yourself is a selfish way to play and its not efficient for healing and you mana. let me explain healing triage is yourself tanks then DPS, when in fact is yourself DPS then the tank if they have CD. So with that in mind who are we going to LB, your options are the tank and DPS or two DPS. reason for tank and dps, having a LB on the tank will provide a layer of protection that they need most of the time a tanks that can hit there persons and spread them out properly will not need healing most of the time but the LB with the echo healing will ensure they stay at a health bar that is in safe ranges. then the LB on a DPS will do the same and make it so you don't need to pay attention to them as often, suggested DPS mail users.. (sorry guys you just don't have enough to stay alive IMO) other with anyone that is bad at using personals and likes to hug the ground a lot. Also druid talent of verdant when the LB blooms it will heal the group and you will not need to heal as much. (assuming efflo is always down) reason for 2 DPS, as per mentioned before the tank is tanking and they tank all the thing. So let them, usually most tanks will have a button to make it so they don't die, boss fight especially. So keep the DPS standing 2 LB will do that, you are fine because you have many layers of defense USE THEM. tank a group hit with bear form then group heal, hit bark and smash down healing. You have a lot you can do to stay alive. DPS have usually 2 forms of personals and potions if they use them, most of the time they will not use them.... so the two LB is a great way to make sure they stay healthy, meaning you will have two out and you are healing the odd man out, making it so you lead all 3 of your DPS at once. wild growth plus regrowth and efflo is 3 stacks for mastery, then with the +3 more you have to LB and your focus healing SM NS and CW the everyone should be living. in conclusion LB on yourself in a raid awesome, in M+ avoid it if at all possible.

I love this spec. Literally my decade long main. Love the video, I had a hiatus on the game and will be coming back and this video really helps tell me what kind of interesting and exciting changes there are.
Been playing a lot of DPS and tanks since Wotlk but never healers, couldn't understand them. Now, after a 6 year break from world of warcraft I decided to play a healer after dps/tanks wouldn't appeal to me anymore. Kinda sad I didn't gave healers a chance sooner, it's pretty rewarding to heal a raid and get through with it and know you did well. Resto Druid, Highmountain Tauren, ftw!
@Javier you said that when you’re healing at m+ that it is recommended to put lifeblood always on yourself and the tank. I play restroom Druid now for 3-4 years and I think that that is not always true. It might be a very good tip in general if you want to get used to use lifeblood more often. But in terms of effiency and min maxing you might want to rotate lifeblood on targets that are low but only if no AOE damage is coming in. So that means AOE damage -> lifeblood on you and tank. (Reason is that lifebloom on yourself increase the tic per hot so more healing in general) -> no AOE damage -> rotate lifeblood on targets that are lower then the rest. For example only 2dps players getting heavy damage but tank is safe because of CD‘s or just an easy pack for tank. The reason for that is that the single target healing of lifebloom itself is really good compared to the mana costs and it also increases the tics per hot on single target (or 2targets, because you have 2 lifeblom, one for each). I know it’s min maxing but I thought it might be worth mentioning it as you said the guide is for keys 20+. I made that wrong a very long time, and it seems like a small thing, but that small thing will increase your healing output in situations where two target gets heavy damage massively. The reason for that is that restroom Druid is like a snowball system, so if we go back to my example not only you have additional heal from the lifebloom itself and the bonus to faster tics per hot, it gives you also a lot more single target heal because you have 1 hot more. And it applies an additional hot on the other lifebloom target when you cast regrowth. So that’s based on you’re mastery like 5-15% more which is insane. So in total it’s more healing from lifeblood, more healing because of the tic per hot increase from lifebloom, more healing because of the mastery bonus per hot, more healing because you have more hots on on the target and more healing if you play with the small trees which are casting nourish which gets 300% bonus on the bonus of hots. But I love the video, very good explained with very good recommendations
@@mickkoller4584 that’s ok buddy- the video was aimed at people who may have never ever touched the spec or class before. But im glad more experienced players like yourself still enjoy it😁
Something quite important that wasn't mentioned is the role of mastery and ramping. If you know there's a lot of damage incoming it's a very good idea to pile a lot of HoTs on people, use flourish to assist on that and then do tranquility or other major healing. Each HoT you have on a player increases the healing they recieve by an amount determined by mastery so something like Tranquility becomes much more powerful than it would on its own. Took me a while to realise this initially :D Useful both in M+ and raiding.
this video has helped sooo much thank you for putting a video out! been raiding and tbh i been kinda confused lately on how to use rdruid but god this guild sure helped! :D

You can do. I would never have all 3 off cooldown anyway. If u need all 3, use all3… if only 1/2 is needed then save them. I personally think they give us a tonne of flexibility. I hope that helps! 😁
Thank you so much for this! I am returning and this helped me TONS! I am curious about your layout. I like the party member bars/buffs in a row you had. How can I get that?

great guide! Ty! just curious why in the Raid Talents you don't have Photosynthesis, when you showcased the spells you mentioned keep lifebloom on yourself, but without that talent why keep it on yourself on raid?
I’ve found using treats all the time works really well. If I’m about to hit 3 stacks and some healing needs to go out, I’m putting one down and focusing on dps if I can.
i dont quite understand what you mean when you say lifebloom can only be on one or two people at a time. As far as i can see i can put it on all five people in my party if i want and they all get healing from its hot.
It's one person at a time, and with the talent it makes it so you can have it on 2 people at a time. You categorically cannot have it on more at once. If you try and put it on a third person it'll take it off the first person.
@@JaviHeals oh yeah, my bad. i tested it again and you are right. I just started playing wow again for the first time in many years, and first time as a resto druid. Thanks. this has made my healing a lot better now.
Thankyou so much! I'm glad the video helped. There's also a 10.2.5 version (I think) if you need more assistance that may also be helpful for you! Very grateful
The build is kinda weird you are using. Without having Inca talented your proc Inca is also weaker (as it won’t spawn trees this way). This build you are showing is pretty mana intensive and will still heal less. Also you miss the Lifebloom on yourself speeds up the hots. I would assume you are capped to 100-120k how this way. While you could reach 200k+ otherwise. Also if you have Convoke always use Natures Swiftness before Convoking as every cast in the Convoke will be buffed without consuming the NS.
Convoke for M+ & Inca for raid i'd say. And yes, I'm aware regarding convoke etc but remember this is a BEGINNER guide and I don't go through every detail in this guide... It doesn't sound like either you or me are beginners hehe :P
Love the video! Am starting to gear up a resto druid as my alt and it is quite fun. A question, and maybe it is not a beginner part so therefor not in the video. See many talent trees take a lot of the cat talents for m+, rake, thrash, swipe and the last finisher I forgot the name off. Do resto druids often go cat form and dps? Probably a bit above my pay grade at the moment but curious and interested if I manage to go further into m+ and such :) Again, great video!
Yeah go into cat and use those, or use convoke in cat form will spam a lot of dps abilities, plus putting sunfire and tab targeting moonfire will be the optimal dps for resto. The higher you go in keys, the less you’ll be able to though and healers will generally rarely ever do dmg.
Ahh okay, so it is changed a bit and I got to say I kind of like that healers heal, as I was always bad dps whenever I healed :) But then I will focus more on healing, trying your tree out more and not worry to much about cat and just keep moonfire/sunfire and see how it goes. Thanks for a great starting point! \o/
@@MCarlzon no problem! As a healer who does 20+ keys from week1 in the season; I only use the two sun/fire spells and don’t really use cat. Also; once you get your 2pc set you can try changing convoke for the tree! Which is now working really well for me😁
@@JaviHeals ahh interesting! Wish I could do 20s, hopefully I will get there :) But good to know from someone who really do the higher keys that not much cat is used, then it feels better to focus on survivability and tigers rush etc.
I only have one question: when you say "use this on CD" do you literally mean the second it comes off CD? Like even if everyone is at max health (I'm talking mainly about mythic+)? I assume I wouldn't use it if we're not even in combat.
Keeping Lifebloom on yourself in m+ is a good idea only if you always stay in the radius of your Efflorescence (thus, in meelee-range mostly). If not, it's better to keep it on tank and another meelee dps, since most of dps folks now are meelee usually. It will allow your Lifebloom to trigger your Verdancy more effectively.
Can you show me where verdancy states the person it blooms on has to be within the efflorescence? The tic rate of having it on yourself doesn’t stop verdancy happening no matter where you’re standing from my understanding. Most dps are not melee these days either that is completely untrue. Happy to be proven wrong, but going to need to see solid proof backing up your claim that discredits the talent tooltip itself:P
@@JaviHeals Probably it's me who's wrong about the necessity to be in the Efflorescence radius, but I did notice that my overall healing (Verdancy-vise) is way higher if I apply Lifebloom to those who stand in Efflorescence, rather than keep one on myself.
@@MrTree-yw5yw even if blizz have worded it badly and you’re right- overall the uptick in healing from having one on yourself would absolutely be more than the verdancy increase- ill test your theory though it’s certainly intrigued me.
Only thing i would add is mecanic behind swarm and how to spreads since i cant get it to spread like everyone else does in videos and all stacks are gone before i can cast it again otherwise 10/10 guide
I just watched this because I want to improve healing on my druid I would consider myself new to it because im still learning. I have seen people have some type of macro that has 3 spells in one when they target to heal, is this a macro or an add-on and have you seen this more or know what I am talking about? And is it useful thank you
Im not sure, but youd have to click the macro 3 times if its spells on the GCD. If you know which spells I can help more. I have an idea what 2 might be but kinda wana be sure first.
Swiftmend into Convoke. Pop Flourish, then Nature's Vigil. Feel free to walk away from your keyboard, get yourself some coffee. Your entire party can now handle that Mythic+ 99. Edit: Not sure if I missed it or not, but in mythics, Regrowth will also be applied to your targets that have Lifebloom. Easy way to pass a Regrowth to a DPS, yourself, and your tank (Your tank and yourself having Lifebloom applied, and the rando hunter standing in fire being the DPS, likely).
First part made me laugh haha! Comment of the day! And yes! I think I might have missed out that detail!!!! Because it’s generally on you & the tank it’ll kind of happen without too much thought but very good point! 😁
Swiftmend will make your next wild growth more powerful, so if you're doing a flourish it makes sense to include a more powerful version of wild growth in the ramp (that will be extended). Convoke is the next logical thing as it gets out so many spells so quickly (to also be extended). I hope that makes sense?@@emanl84

Probably a bit above my pay grade at the moment but curious and interested if I manage to go further into m+ and such :)
Again, great video!
Ahh okay, so it is changed a bit and I got to say I kind of like that healers heal, as I was always bad dps whenever I healed :)
But then I will focus more on healing, trying your tree out more and not worry to much about cat and just keep moonfire/sunfire and see how it goes.
Wish I could do 20s, hopefully I will get there :)
But good to know from someone who really do the higher keys that not much cat is used, then it feels better to focus on survivability and tigers rush etc.
I only have one question: when you say "use this on CD" do you literally mean the second it comes off CD? Like even if everyone is at max health (I'm talking mainly about mythic+)? I assume I wouldn't use it if we're not even in combat.
What spell specifically?
Not a question , but a compliment . You’re really handsome , and I love your accent . Thanks for the guide
Thats very kind of you, thankyou 🥰
Hey man like this using a tree build and bloom
Yeah I plan on switching to tree build once I have my 4 set! It’ll help with getting even more treants out! I literally cant waittttt
@@JaviHeals im using it now with no set and is great ... but 2 set and 4 set is mad
oooo I might try it out early in that case then!!!!@@adamdunn5520
why call regrowth a regular single target hearl when its also a hot
Regrowth is a single target heal + hot in one
Only thing i would add is mecanic behind swarm and how to spreads since i cant get it to spread like everyone else does in videos and all stacks are gone before i can cast it again otherwise 10/10 guide
I have a foolproof WA for that! Tells me who to cast it on for max efficiency. Do you want me to find a link?
@@JaviHeals Sure! :)
Heal here is when Cow, but where for being Dog is heal??
I just watched this because I want to improve healing on my druid I would consider myself new to it because im still learning. I have seen people have some type of macro that has 3 spells in one when they target to heal, is this a macro or an add-on and have you seen this more or know what I am talking about? And is it useful thank you
Im not sure, but youd have to click the macro 3 times if its spells on the GCD. If you know which spells I can help more. I have an idea what 2 might be but kinda wana be sure first.
@@JaviHeals so i see him heal and he hovers his cursor in raid and m+ and i see all these 4 icons lifebloom, efflorescense, wild grouth and swiftmend
Where is the macro for bear form and barkskin?
I'm sorry! It's in the description now :D
There's no Convoke spell using your M+ ? I cant find it
Do you have a guide like this but for PvP?
Not yet, but stay tuned
@@JaviHeals I tried restro druid but it's so hard. I play Guardian in PvP...
Can you pls make a guide for resto in s4
I did, it released 2 days ago
@@JaviHeals damn gj
also, could you do a disc priest maybe? Thanks again x
Disc will come yes! All specs coming out as fast as I can :)
@@JaviHeals fanatastic x just subscribed and i now get notifications off you :)
Why Switfmend before Convoke?
Swiftmend will make your next wild growth more powerful, so if you're doing a flourish it makes sense to include a more powerful version of wild growth in the ramp (that will be extended). Convoke is the next logical thing as it gets out so many spells so quickly (to also be extended). I hope that makes sense?@@emanl84
@@JaviHeals ok is this a talent or a part of swiftmend ability?
@@emanl84 it’s the soul of the forest talent
wow you got a lot of nice words from your audience. But your raidingskilltree is wrong like @Jesalbov pointed out. You forgot to take photosynt.
The import string IS correct... but you're right, the screenshot was wrong (whoops!)
