Thanks for the review! Very good analysis. The game was definitely intended to be easier than it is, but it's very easy to forget what a steep learning curve SM64 has when you play enough rom hacks. By the time I realised I was losing a hold of the casual play, it was pretty late into it. Glad you were able to enjoy it despite it's flaws! 😅
Honest, it serves as a really neat tutorial for some sm64 speedrunning tech. Never thought I wound ever have to triple jump tech or wall tech in my lifetime
@@KostidisYGO I never bothered to learn how to backwards long jump in SM64 because, outside of breaking the endless stairs, there was no point in doing so. I feel like I've pretty much mastered that tech thanks to Takua 64 (though the secret stone in The Trees of Le--Koro can still bite me... Much easier to climb to the top and bounce-fly off a bird...) After beating it (well... nearly, I've only got the last secret stone to collect), I honestly want to go back to SM64 and put all these new tech skills to the test.
Happy to see you stretch your reviews outside of Steam curator stuff! This looks super cute, and imo it's in character for a bionicle game to be just a biiiit too hard for it's own good :^)

"The texture work and geometry is beholden to the 64 bits the console affords" - this line is a little weird, as none of the N64's limitations are due to it being 64-bit. Modern gaming PCs are also 64-bit.

It’s as hard as tick tick clock by world three or four in my opinion, then gets harder from there

I think you also forgot to mention a few more cons, like there are no boss battles and hardly any cutscenes. In fact, I think it is missing an ending.
Not having a lot of cutscenes is not at all a con. Maybe you should play the new God of War or something. Lot of cutscenes there.
