$650 for a hand grinder that has no adjustment at the top, no numbers to easily change settings. For the price, I expect more. It seems that the Comandante has fallen behind times, but still charges premium…

I love my C40, and would like to experience the C60. Yeah, it’s expensive but will last a lifetime. It’s also a wonderful work of engineering and art. Considering that $600 phones, computers, and TVs are disposable, this grinder is a bargain.
Haha, great catch! Not during adjusting grind setting but during cleaning the grinder & burrs before the shoot. It’s just a reminder how sharp it is and how careful we need to be when operating it.
@@julianpark93 as I wrote in the comment, it was when cleaning the grinder and burrs for filming. We simply need to be careful when working with sharp objects (like knives, right).
they would need to release another axel with a finer adjustment to make it suitable for espresso grinding, and probably charge us for that additional accessory as well
I feel like the C40 had character with some of the exotic wood designs. My favorite and the one I originally bought had the zebra wood finish and for that it will always be something special. This C60 is just a hunk of metal without any warmth even though I'm sure, as you stated, probably will outlast our entire lifetime.
I have a MK3 with walnut wood. And an orange powdercoated MK4. Went for that as I didn’t like the wood options of the MK4. In the end I actually prefer the powdercoated MK4. It’s far more grippy.

@@ComandanteGrinderIn Russia. But I can also use delivery services to the USA, Turkey, UK. In any case, I really want to buy it and am ready to find solutions :)
I have two C40’s. One for filter coffee and one with red clix for espresso. Grinding for a single espresso with the C40 red clix is fine. But I’m often making back to back espresso’s and at this point the speed of the C60 would come in handy. I’m actually thinking of giving the C40 to our son and getting the C60 for espresso.
What do you get for that price? :D no foldable handle, no external adjustment on top, no magnetic catch cup. comandante fell off. bad. my Timemore s3 can do all that while feeling and looking way better than the c60. all while costing 90 Euros :D
At finer grind settings with a big burr, a bit more crank torque is required. The grind result is excellent for cezve and with 6-7g for one cup, you'd be finished grinding very quickly :). You might prefer the C40 for reduced crank torque at finer settings though. Perhaps your local coffee roaster/cafe can help let you try one? Thanks for your support!
@@ComandanteGrinder Hello. Thank you very much for your answer. I already bought the C60. I've been using it for 4 days. Yes, it’s harder to grind coffee in Turkish than on C40. But I'm happy. Example; the same grain C40 3 clicks, C60 5 clicks, C 60 fraction is finer and the grinding on C60 is lighter (visible immediately) As for the filter, the difference is very noticeable. On C60 the taste is deeper. I bought the C60 already a new version of Velvet Steel.
As Aleš mentions, the C60 is designed with slightly different use cases in mind and we suggest the C40 as the flagship model to suit all users :). On the other hand, although it doesn't sound like much, grinding twice as fast is a huge difference to your workflow! As for the Black Crank, it doesn't increase grind speed (the Baracuda burr is what makes the difference here) but it adds leverage, meaning reduced grinding effort. A Black Crank on the C40 with Nitro Blade (smaller burr, lower resistance) makes grinding incredibly easy work!
Awesome review. Just order a C60. 😊 Does it really fit more beans that C40? Many sites say 40g capacity for both C40 and C60, but would be nice with a bit bigger capacity for 750ml brews.
Yes, since the internal steel chassis allows for more space around the top of the axle. Pair it with our new large Polymer Bean Jars (coming very soon to a dealer near you!), which have a 200ml capacity, and you can easily grind for those bigger brews in one go... and fast! :D

The metal body looks nice at first glance but unfortunately I really don't see who would buy this. The price is crazy high and while a metal body might pass as premium the plastic container certainly does not and if the body is too heavy make that one metal too.
