    • @l3thaldosage506
      @l3thaldosage506 2 года назад +9

      For quite a few years he was losing it while performing with the band but with Hellyeah, it kind of gave his voice A LOT of time to heal up. The first performance back at Ink was plagued because of having covid + sound issues all throughout the night (not just with Mudvayne). With him not performing at LTL, he was able to rest up a little more and when they hit the 3rd show, his long screams were on point. Doing the screaming day in day out will take a toll on the throat.

      I'm amazed he's even able to still do metal vocals, as he uses his throat (larynx), and that takes a massive toll on you even after one song. But that's what makes him sound unique and I guess he doesn't give a shit about 'fry screaming' and all these other techniques because that's how he rolls lol.

    • @whenwhereandwhy
      @whenwhereandwhy 2 года назад +9

      He's barely "screaming." Notice they brought in a second guitar player and that is doing backup vocals, ie. screaming now? He literally stands hidden in the back. They were always a 4 piece. I have no problem with them adapting to improve the quality of the show, but let's give credit where it's properly due. Howard Jones formerly of Killswitch is 50 and still can f'n rip it.

      I know. As a bass player myself...it's weird to see him without it. But he's endorsed by Fordera now. And the bass he is playing is his new signature model. It still as the same pickup configuration as well as the Wenge neck that his old Warwick has. He's like the first rock/metal player that Fodera has endorsed. Which says alot about Ryan considering that all of the players that Fodera endorses are monster Jazz and session bass players.
      Real talk: I'm just happy he's still playing with the intensity that did back in the day.

    Awesome. A gritty, raw, imperfect brutal live performance. Just how it should be. I just do not understand those of you who mock this band and Chad for his voice. Have you guys ever been to a live show? Ever tried doing metal vocals up until your 50, touring the world for years etc etc? I think you dudes are so used to being bedroom musicians using your 20 plus plugins to sound perfect and over produced and nothing what you'd sound live, and can't accept the fact that bands, those established and those trying to make a name for themselves are not going to sound 'perfect' live. Even Dimebag said himself perfection was bullshit, and as long as your heart and soul is in the performance, who gives a fuck if you overshoot a note or fuck up here and there. Just appreciate any dude who is following their dreams and getting on stage doing their thing, and support your local unsigned bands! Anyway, just my 2 cents, not trying to start an argument. Cheers.

    Chad has really improved his screaming but he still needs some work on his cleans. His voice was completely going out during the chorus of Death Blooms..still better than when I seen them in 2006...which considering he was in his mid 30's then and he's 50 now. That's saying something.

    Overall a good performance. Chad sounds better here than at Inkarceration, apparently he had a mild case of the koof? His screams are still good but he needs to work on his cleans a bit, adding Marcus really helped. The band sounds great as always!

    I love that there is all these vocal coaches on here, I mean fuck why don't you get him in a room and show him where he is singing his music wrong and help him realize that he is too old for this and you the vocal coaches yourself just go on to become the new singer to Mudvayne and make it sound exactly like L.D. 50. It is hard to preform those songs live because on the album he is able to dub his voice closer together than he can live. Even back then those songs are hard to preform live. If you don't like it GFYS
