As you can probably tell by listening to the frontman here. The metal community gave me a place to belong when I had nothing else, nowhere else to fit in. There's always some bad apples, but it's mainly love and acceptance around here. I'm sure your son felt just as strongly about it, being in a band and having a real stake in the local scene (I know the feeling.) There's a metal song for every single mood and feel, 'metal" itself is like a whole new section of music of it's own, kind alike there's 'normal' music then there's this whole world with just as many sub genres as there are types of other music. Probably because rock naturally progressed to metal in the 80's, then the record exec's took a huge step backwards in the 90's wanting literally everything on the radio to sound like Nickelback. (not kidding, you can research it, there were 3 people in charge of EVERYTHING on the radio pretty much still are, and after nickel back blew up if you were trying to get on the radio they had one question only: Do they sound like Nickelback?) Meanwhile, metal kept pushing forward and became a truly democratic music of the people, purely decided on by the peoples vote by going to shows and buying their music. even though music is essentially free, Metal and rock still have the highest amount of fans still buying physical copies of music, purely to support the band they like. The metal scene is more than music, it's the front lines of people pushing the envelope and progressing this world, like rock in the 60's and 70's. New, 'out of control,' taking the world by storm (again) and just like classic rock, very progressive groundbreaking unprecedented musical style, and the top technical proficiency, raising the bar of what's possible. Never listened to Gojira before I found Amozonia on youtube. Went out and bought Fortitude got it home and its not been out of the cd player since. So impressed with this band.
These guys are at a level that is almost incomprehensible. The drummer's double bass drum work is spectacular, the way he shifts rhythms and tempos, it's mind boggling.
Sometimes find it hard to believe I saw them in Glasgow playing to maybe 300 ppl and they blew me away. They're definitely not playing to 300 anymore. Amazing band.

A lot!!! They have been beneath "my radar" for long time. Although i planned to listen to them prior olympics 2024. Of course epic olympics performence provided "kick" to finally do it. What a band! 🤘🤘🤘
For the new comers don't miss their side project called "Empalot". Funny metal. Back in the days I saw them in the Basque country in France it was just awesome. The album is called "tous aux cépes ". I think it's available on youtube
I was interrupted by a political ad at the start of Stranded, I’ve decided not to vote for them 😤😂 so damn annoying. Gojira kept me from clicking away from this performance
I’ll never forget the first time I saw these guys, in a crowd filled with people who had no clue who they were, second opening act. I knew, and assured everyone that they had no clue what they would witness. Gojira utterly crushed the crowd with the weight of their presence. Unbelievable.
Never gave Gojira a chance (for wtv reason). I'm only 25 minutes in and it sounds like I've been missing out on a lot great riffing. These guys kick ass.
My first listening of Gojira. I must to say that the rythm section (drumm anda bass) is one of the best combinations ive heard in metal. Guitars, nothing to say, very good too.
why exercise normally when you can just listen to Gojira? You get all the workout, same amount of calories burnt (maybe even more depending on how into it you get), and is 100 times more fun. 10/10 would mosh again.
you laugh, but my fitbit recognized me attending a gojira concert as a long workout of cardio. i saw lamb of god a month ago and it was like 1000 calories burned😂
This band's vibe is about 100x bigger live than on recording. I never really got the hype around them until I started watching live videos. Arguably the most entertaining and organic metal drummer since Danny Carey.

Gojira is the first band I've gotten into this heavy since the days of Metallica, Megadeth and Sepultura. I mean they are on a non-stop revolving playlist,i just cant stop. This is exactly what the next generation of metal should sound like. The influence of previous mentioned band is clearly audible in their music yet they sound nothing like them. The riffs are just so fresh and heavy, so aggressive yet musical, the drums are so fucking good, the bass hard hitting. The vocals diverse with lyrical content so befitting the times. I kind of miss the awesome guitarsolo sometimes but the breakdowns , switch ups and outro's are so damn hard hitting you don't even notice they hardly play solo's. I guess I also really like its a band where the singer is also the rhythm guitar player like previous mentioned bands. Plays so fucking tight! They are just great, love their evolution in albums where you can hear they don't just keep playing the same old stuff like a one trick pony but age and grow up and play the music they want to instead of just pleasing a hardcore fanbase.
I wish the cuts lasted longer than 0.45 seconds. These quick cuts give me ADHD. At least give us 5 seconds on a shot, allow us to be present and experience the scene for more than a heartbeat.

Great to hear you can enjoy them too!
Meshuggah.

I can’t get enough of this video. Mario is absolutely amazing on drums. The best drummer in metal by far in my opinion!
I’m in my mid 50s and these lads remind me just how exciting, challenging and enjoyabke metal can be!😊
Not to mention all the guitar riffs that ring in my head when I sleep at night, such a superb band I recently found and now I listen to Gojira constantly all day and nothing else
Holy moly - that locations is absolutely stunning and a perfect fit for Gojira! Would have sold my soul to be there.
If you ever get a chance to see a show at Red Rocks do it!!
I was at this show. One of those moments that you never want to end....
I’ve been there..twice
Seen Gojira over 5-6 times
I NEED to see them at RED FUCKING ROCKS haha then I can hike pikes peak all hungover the next day and try to hand feed a deer 🦌
Honestly the greatest venue for concerts I've ever been to!
Not only was it a great Gojira show but Opeth was the headliner. what a show. I feel so incredibly grateful to have been there. It was in May and it was chilly and windy. I watch this now along with garden of the titans {opeth} and tears stream down my face.
Never listened to Gojira before I found Amozonia on youtube. Went out and bought Fortitude got it home and its not been out of the cd player since. So impressed with this band.
hooo somebody tell this guy about Magma
The 🐇 hole of FANTASTICNESS IS ..... 🤘🤘🤘🤘😊😊🤘🤘🤘🤘🥴🤘🤘🤘🤯
EXPLOSIA ANYONE.......
You have to listen to 'From Mars To Sirius'!
What's a cd player?
Dude, I want to see you get to "terra incognita", I would do anything to listen to that album for the first time again
Finally a band that understands the importance of excellent sound!!!! And that drummer is a fucking machine !!!!
The smile on Christian's face at 7:29 as the crowd roared... what a feeling that must have been!
I burst into tears when I had a crowd of about 1000ish screaming for us, I can't imagine THIS
These guys are at a level that is almost incomprehensible. The drummer's double bass drum work is spectacular, the way he shifts rhythms and tempos, it's mind boggling.
Mario stamina is ridiculous. Long live Gojira
And mind you, Red Rocks is 7,000ft above sea level.
This show was so devastating, pretty much the perfect metal show... Happy to say I was there with two of my best friends, so epic!
Just saw them in Atlanta a few days ago. Best live band I have ever seen and it's not even close. They're a once in a generation talent.
To be this hard and yet sound so melodic and clean
its fucking unreal
Thanks to sound designer and engineering. Tons of FX on voice and guitars.
Sometimes find it hard to believe I saw them in Glasgow playing to maybe 300 ppl and they blew me away. They're definitely not playing to 300 anymore. Amazing band.
Wow congratulations that’s so cool.
Dude.. Seriously same here I seen them in 2008 at a small club in Albuquerque with Car Bomb. After that they played much bigger venues.
Pray is just...I mean,.... just when I thought Toxic garbage island was the best song...they finish up with this one..epic beyond epic...the ending is just really great...props as well to their immaculate crew to keep the machine rolling for these live gems...great visuals..sound perfect...how?? Hard work I would imagine haha
man, i'm coming back just want to listen this epic ending song
Best drummer in the world. There is nothing this dude can't do and he never misses a beat.
Danny Carey, tho...
@@projecttapeworm Danny's really good, but I don't think he's at this level
He’s definitely a very solid, extremely talented drummer. Best? Hell no lol. Thomas haake of meshuggah, Alex rudinger, George Kollias, stef broks to name a few.
Tony Royster was better when he was...12!! No joke, check this, it's hard to believe:
ruclips.net/video/BA5D-WEcNGA/видео.html
He is 37 now.
I'd put Mario on par with Carey and Haake for sure
I will die happy when I eventually see Gojira live
Saw them in Mexico. It was the heaviest show I've ever been to.
I get to meet them in Kansas City in 3 days......my wife suprised me and I will forever be grateful for it.
They came through my city years ago. I was lukewarm to Gojira at the time so I didn’t attend. Now that I’ve come around to them I’m really hoping they come back near me and play
@Robodude_0528 Their setlist is quite a bit softer this year. They removed a couple of the heavier songs and added some newer tracks. Still amazing....but I'm there to headbang!
Haven't been to many shows in my life, but I saw them at the start of Mega Monsters w/Lorna Shore & Mastodon, and I could have easily and gladly died happy that night 🖤
Whoever was responsible for the sound deserves a raise! The drums sound absolutely bonkers 🤯🤪🤘
His names Mario
@@larndelaney7848 mario should get a raise. Drums sound so clean I could eat off them.

This is a phenomenal concert fucking hell, Gojira never misses on their live performance
Pretty sure I could listen to this every day and not get sick of it. How is Gojira not talked about more often?
If you’ve just come from the Olympics. Welcome. Look what you’ve been missing!
saw them around this time at a small auditorium, i couldn't hear the next day! So awesome
I think it's available on youtube
yes !
You’re not lying, and I’m a metal head lol
I'll never buy anything from any company that interrupted this with a commercial. 😂 What an amazing show. Love Gojira!
I was getting so annoyed
I was interrupted by a political ad at the start of Stranded, I’ve decided not to vote for them 😤😂 so damn annoying. Gojira kept me from clicking away from this performance
That girl caught that drum stick. The happyness on her face brought a tear to my eye amazing
The sound quality here is phenomenal
one of the most incredible live performances ive ever seen
What a performance
What a beautiful crowd
What an amazing venue
My spirit soaring
My first listening of Gojira. I must to say that the rythm section (drumm anda bass) is one of the best combinations ive heard in metal. Guitars, nothing to say, very good too.
Joe's vocals sound amazing
I can’t wait to see gojira and Korn the same day this upcoming tour it’s gonna be crazy
I'm seeing them in september as well, I'm hyped! Been a fan of theirs for a little while now, and I really hope they do toxic garbage island

Seeing them in Silicon Valley at Shoreline
I’m seeing them at LTL!! So excited 🤘
This is why Gojira is one of the best metal bands on the planet.
That Rememberance outro is just such a gem.. On this perfect mix it's bliss
why exercise normally when you can just listen to Gojira? You get all the workout, same amount of calories burnt (maybe even more depending on how into it you get), and is 100 times more fun. 10/10 would mosh again.
yeah

you laugh, but my fitbit recognized me attending a gojira concert as a long workout of cardio. i saw lamb of god a month ago and it was like 1000 calories burned😂
The mountains and the forest in the back is one of the most metal backdrops IMO
This band's vibe is about 100x bigger live than on recording. I never really got the hype around them until I started watching live videos. Arguably the most entertaining and organic metal drummer since Danny Carey.
organic is a great word to describe him. He has the groove, the pocket, the chops, the technique. I mean, his way of writing drums is from another world

I wa at this show.. Probably the best show I've ever been too especially with Opeth headlining! So epic!
Opeth live is amazing.
By the time Opeth came on it was so freakin cold! That was my 1st show at Red Rocks and it was incredible.
doesnt it suck having to be on slopes and rocking out? look tough not being able to just move around and dance and mosh
But I'll bet Opeth was sweating a wee bit having to come out and follow THIS
Wait someone had to follow this!? Yikes
The look on peoples faces, like they cannot believe what they are witnessing. Magnifique
If you ever get the chance to see them live, GO!
I never really gave Gojira much of a chance until now. What in the living hell was I thinking? Excuse me, but I need to go kick my own ass now...
You have permission
Ditto. Found 'em a day ago. Ears are bleeding now. 💀👍
I just gave them my first real listen to yesterday and now I am hooked... What was I doing???
I think Gojira kind of has that effect on people. For me, I wasn't listening to a whole lot of metal from 2008-2013 other than Tool and maybe Deftones who aren't pure metal bands to begin with. Then I started to come back around but thought 'meh, not into them.' The I smacked myself in the face when I came across The Gift of Guilt live at the Brixton Academy and straightened up real fast😄😄... now their one of my favorite metal bands ever. They are so. Fucking. GOOD.
You and me both. Where the hell have I been??
Love how the sound just bounce off those beautiful Red Rocks! Bucket list place to see a show at.
Been to this venue before and what I love about it... the rock structures on both sides actually amplify the sound.. sounds 100x amazing 👏
it looks awesome. even the people in the back can see properly. seems much better than just a flat floor.
@@howlingmadme because it is better, only thing that sucks is the stairs are killer lmao everything there such as merch, snacks and restrooms are at the top. Also the seats and stairs are all out of the natural formation as well
One of the best drummers of all time
The first time I heard these guys was live opening for Mastodon back in maybe '13 or '14. My brain nearly exploded. Became an instant huge fan. I love everything about them and what they're about and this performance is a masterpiece. Flawless production AND execution!!
Thank you so much for this. I may have been tripping my face off on acid, but this was easily the best show I've ever attended. The visual elements blended in perfectly with the venue in a way that I don't think I've experienced before or since
"the acid helps"

Gojira raise the bar so far. Best metal in ages. Ripping music, messages that matter and they f$%#^ing shred live. 🤘
Indeed they do
Gojira is the first band I've gotten into this heavy since the days of Metallica, Megadeth and Sepultura.
If you dont know them than check out Orbit Culture
I definitely hear Morbid Angel riffs. As in ”what Morbid Angel would die to sound like”. Metal masterclass!
Me too, just found them this year and I'm totally sold!!!!!
I was there. The video reminds me of why I came. The band holds the heart and all who relate were there as well. We shared the moment.
One of the best shows I have ever seen. Mario is the God of Drums.
As a filmmaker im so heavily in love with the camerawork and the grading here, its brilliant like a concert-movie
I wish the cuts lasted longer than 0.45 seconds. These quick cuts give me ADHD. At least give us 5 seconds on a shot, allow us to be present and experience the scene for more than a heartbeat.
@@michaelbogutzki4623 this was a thing many people criticised about the Rammstein: Paris film, edited by Jonas Åckerlund, it was also cutted in a very high frequency cause it was the directors idea of how to translate the feeling of a Liveshow, where so much happens that u cant watch everything at ones, into a movie.
Here interesingly the high frequency didnt jump into my eyes right away like in the movie I just mentioned, but I see what u mean, nevertheless I was very pleased bu the camerawork and the colours and so on😊
Mate these wide shots and handheld shots are second to none. I'm absolutely in love with how it was directed
Best live performance I’ve ever seen… the sound is amazing, the songs sound better than studio recordings
This needs to be released on vinyl and all other formats.
This is one of the most powerful shows I've ever seen. Wish I could have been there.
This concert is so damn good, I went back to listen to the studio versions for the first time, and feel like this is way better. Especially Pray, this extended version and performance is one of the best things I've ever seen in music.
