They just don't have that many haters, actually. Too interesting of a band to hate, and this is coming from someone who doesn't LOVE them, but hey, the vocals are great, the grooves are cool, the riffs are there, and so is the energy, so what's to hate? It's pretty good metal. Ghost, for an example, has so many haters it gets crazy sometimes.

shirok shor Gojira is definitely up there. Every Time I Die was amazing live. Saw Norma Jean and Misery Signals when it was still the old Norma Jean singer. Black Dahlia Murder was probably the best. The most memorable was AFI years ago when they were on the Art Of Drowning tour. I’ll have to dig through my old ticket stubs to see if I missed any.

I am an extreme Gojira fan, but i would never say Mario is better. i’m no drummer, but there’s no way you can Say constantly doing double Bass, and cymbal, cymbal, cymbal, Snare, repeat is “better” than danny carey. please go check his fills and composition.
This is definitely one of the best modern metal bands Ive heard, and I think it’s really cool they’re from France. You don’t see many metal bands from there.
It's actually fretting noise from the bass guitar. (If you'd turn up the gain on an OH mic so far that you can hear the swish of a drumstick flying past, the cymbals and drums would give you nothing but clipping.) It's a pretty good illusion though!
Pandemic introduced me to this band. "Flying Whales" is the first Gojira's song i listened to, about two years ago in my college years but not really into it. Last year i finally dig into it. "Stranded" is the second Gojira's song that i like because it is relatively easy to listen than the other song (such as Vacuity, Gift of Guilt, etc) "The Heaviest Matter of the Universe" is definitely the best Gojira's song in my opinion. Heavy, heavy, heavy. Crazy Mario Duplantier at his peak. This month i am really into "Backbone" and "Remembrance".
I started with "To Sirius" and back then i thought "Oh it's not the big deal", now i cannot avoid to think that is an amazing song. That album is my favourite now.
I like Gojira, but metal bands don't go cry in the corner. No matter how badly they get crushed. They bend, break, whither in your face with a face full of mush, cracked teeth, and a blood soaked smile.

In a world where many people put Jimmy Sullivan (The Rev) and Joey Jordison on a pedestal for modern metal over all the other drummers,I think it’s safe to say he’s underrated. No offense to The Rev and Joey Jordison - they’re terrific drummers - but Mario is easily better than them. Perfect mix of melody and brutality. Doesn't hurt to have such precise instrumentation, especially Mario... drummers are super important in metal. As others have said, this mix is incredible. Gojira is in their prime and the best metal band out there imo.

It's actually fretting noise from the bass guitar. (If you'd turn up the gain on an OH mic so far that you can hear the swish of a drumstick flying past, the cymbals and drums would give you nothing but clipping.) It's a pretty good illusion though!

Pandemic introduced me to this band.
"Flying Whales" is the first Gojira's song i listened to, about two years ago in my college years but not really into it. Last year i finally dig into it.
"Stranded" is the second Gojira's song that i like because it is relatively easy to listen than the other song (such as Vacuity, Gift of Guilt, etc)
"The Heaviest Matter of the Universe" is definitely the best Gojira's song in my opinion. Heavy, heavy, heavy. Crazy Mario Duplantier at his peak.
This month i am really into "Backbone" and "Remembrance".
I started with "To Sirius" and back then i thought "Oh it's not the big deal", now i cannot avoid to think that is an amazing song. That album is my favourite now.

In a world where many people put Jimmy Sullivan (The Rev) and Joey Jordison on a pedestal for modern metal over all the other drummers,I think it’s safe to say he’s underrated. No offense to The Rev and Joey Jordison - they’re terrific drummers - but Mario is easily better than them. I understand why they’re put on a pedestal (popularity),but they’re not the best modern metal has to offer.

Perfect mix of melody and brutality. Doesn't hurt to have such precise instrumentation, especially Mario... drummers are super important in metal. As others have said, this mix is incredible. Gojira is in their prime and the best metal band out there imo.

After the start of L'enfant Joe has a problem with his in-ear
SamMoranGuitar I guess it's lucky that the main riff of L'enfant Sauvage is just chugging on the open low strings, so he Joe could have a free hand to try and fix the issue with his in-ears.

Came here because of Paris Olympic. I couldn’t be more happy I found this band. Incredible live performance! So damn clean! Props to the sound guy! That Backbone ending is brutal! Fxck! Haha
