I watched her nstory last night. it was so very encouraging and then wrenched my heart. i cried. The ignorance of man. God gave us dominion over animals but we are not to abuse them. We are their care takers.what an evil thing for people to do.keep them all in your prayers. Prayer changes things. Although it's difficult bless your enemies that they open their eyes. God bless little Fenya.i really thought she was going to make it. And Khanyisa ...no words can describe her.she is so full of life! I wish i will be able to visit her one day. Wouldn't that be so awesome? They are doing wonderful things over there.
Kanyisa lying down and not a single leg touches her. Large animals and very sensitive at the same time! And the explosion of sand on their bodies, is an amazing picture! 🐘💚
Elephants must have good senses who are around them and where exactly. Not only because they are so heavy, but because the babies frequently are under the bellies of moms, and if there's danger nearby, the babies are in the middle and under of lots of adults.
Khanyisa has blended into this herd so well. Like she was meant to be with them all along. It is such a beautiful and special bond. Makes my heart sing with joy. ❤🐘❤🐘❤🐘❤🐘❤🐘
They are all so gentle and caring of the calves. It's wonderful to watch them interact. She feels safe, you can just tell by her actions. This herd is magical.
so right, notice when Khanisha is lying down how careful they are not to step on her. Khanyisa shows no fear of being stepped on while huge beasts are all around her
Khanyisa lost her mother now the entire Herd is her mother, they all care and look after her, she is the baby of the Herd . So precious to see these videos. The love and kindness is so beatifull to see.
All these wonderful sounds...eles walking, trumeting, water sloshing, sand blowing, branches breaking. Some of the sounds of the African bush. It's a privilege to listen as well as watch. It's a gift for which I profoundly thank you. 💕🐘🐑🐶💕💕
The herd is so beautiful! The first thing I look for every morning on my newsfeed is a post (long or short) from HERD. I feel so privileged to witness their lives in this way! Kudos to the men, women, and Adine who make these ellies' special lives possible. It would be nice to learn more about the carers and their human families and to meet their families through family group photos.
Hello 👋 HERD! Thank you very much for this beautiful video! Kumbura never ceases to amaze me, she is great, always showing the great love she has for Khanyisa and when they come out of the lake she is happy, very happy behind her. I really liked the strong bond that Klaserie is forming with Khanyisa, what a beautiful video. God Bless 🙏 always HERD. I love them. ❤️🐘❤️🧑❤️🐑❤️🐕❤️
I remember a time when National Geographic magazine offered the only insight into scenes like this. These videos from HERD are award winning, for sure.
I had desperately longed for Fenya to join the Herd. Terrible loss for Adine, carers and everyone on RUclips who supports the Herd. Fenya will not be forgotton bless her 💐💐
Yes the amount of time that Adine and the care givers gave Fenya had to result in a deep bonding. It takes courage to do what these people do. Me, I am a coward.
Me too... ithought for sure s she would make it with the great care from the team. it was sad it was just too much for her to endure, the tragedies that man causes.. sometimes the mental won't heal. it was her time. She's in elephant heaven
IT'S a pleasure to watch theses caring LOVING ELEPHANTS LOOKING AFTER EACH OTHER .THEY BRING A JOY TO MY LIFE JUST WATCHING THEM .I DO ENVY YOU BEING ABLE TO BE WITH THEM EVERYDAY .GOD BLESS EVERYONE OF THEM BLESSING TO YOU ALL AND NOT FOR GETTING GUARDIAN ANGEL LAMMIE. GLORY TO OUR LORD . GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND THANKYOU
They are the most beautiful creatures can you see the looks wonderful you would never know what she had gone through by looking at her I'm one of her adopted mom's and I love them all thank you for taking care of them
Kumbura's eyes are so beautiful. It is amazing how noone steps on anyone's feet, especially the younger ones. I loved how Sebekwe just mowed himself into the middle of everyone, and Tokwe and Lundi showing up to join the group and check up on everyone. That Pisa and Timisa were side by side was neat. You look at these videos and you realize how closely the Herd reacts, responds and acts like any wild elephant herd. The only difference is you realize the Carers and Adine are also there.
Pure joy watching this lovely creatures care for one another - so happy and thankful that there are organizations like HERD that help elephants in their natural habitat!
Thanks for tips recognizing the different members of the herd. Lundi is easy as is Timisa and Kumbura and also Sebakwe but the other elephants are harder for me. They're all so kind with meisiekind providing caresses and dust baths too!
@@herdelephantorphanage Uitstekend! I would really appreciate more tips as it's become sort of a hobby following this herd. I do look them up on herd.org.za but I need a little help!
The trunks are the most amazing and versatile part of the elephants for they do so much with them. Scent the air, wash with water, mud or sand and the best part is how they caress each other and the workers. Thank you for these most enjoyable moments in their and your lives ❤
I just love watching this family. I even go back and re-watch ones I've already seen, which I never do. I'm always amazed how these incredible giants take such care to tip toe around the resting baby. Their interactions are just beautiful to watch💖
I just turn to mush watching these wonderful elephants having such obvious care and concern for each other.. How they manage not to step on Khanyisa while she is lying down amazes me. It is heartwarming to see these guys just being elephants, doing what elephants do, while healthy and happy... A credit to the HERD humans.. :)
They're all looking so fit and healthy, and I love how much they care for wee kanyisa, thank you so much Adine and all the dedicated carers .🏴🏴
It is good that the adults realize that children will go exploring and discovering, and may find trouble (like very young Khanyisa sure did), and so children must be followed. Also, the child having fun may encourage the adult to feel young again. This seems to be true of all animals (including humans). Babies are to be protected, but babies pay for the protection by inspiring fun times. 😊
Can’t say this enough. This is so amazing to watch how they react to things. So protective of her n she’s just in her own little world. So adorable. You guys do such a wonderful job. I respect each n every one o you. Just to watch how they react around her is so beautiful. People could learn so much from this. Some idiots say that they don’t have any feelings. But I would tell them to watch this.. I believe everything has feelings. Just some not like us. There so majestic n caring. Always have to check you guys out. Again for some reason I’ve not figured out. This just relaxes me. Thanks so much.
Such beautiful videography! I’m a half a world away in Vermont, but get transported each day to join the herd. Thank you, Adine, for making them so accessible! And I really miss Fenya...
Thank you for sharing their beautiful day with us. I love watching them and seeing their unique personalities and traits. Also thanks for the tips on identifying individuals, I usually rely on the names you put on the screen to tell them apart.
All the wonderful sounds as the herd enjoy their dust baths are amazing really feel we are there with them all 💖All sooo careful when Kanyisa lay down as to not step on her they really love n care for her very heartwarming. Thanks for this brilliant video have a great day 🐘💕🐘💕👼🥰
Amazing video. There’s so much to see there, this herd has an amazing family dynamic. Kumbura, Klaserie and Limpopo are learning to be mothers and they’re already doing so well with Khanyisa. Beautiful relationships, getting stronger day by day. 🐘💕🐘💕 Khanyisa was observing Sebakwe sanding himself and she was learning from the best. Lol. 😃

So much to see in this video. I particularly enjoyed how busy and intense the sanding session was and in the middle of the commotion Khanyisa lies down and the world goes on around her, minding her, while her little trunk is lazily sanding her top side. The helping trunk of Klaserie . Quiet confidant Sebakwe is really very impressive. I wonder how Adine and the carers could breathe in this sand cloud. Thank you HERD
I love learning new ways to identify each member of the herd. Thanks information box writer! Also, I just love watching they way their legs moves, especially little Khanyisa and her little chicken legs (compared to the others 😅)
Kumbura is so attentive to Khanyisa. So heartwarming to see. It's fascinating to watch the herd dynamics; the respect and love they show to each other. And sweet-faced Khanyisa with her pretty pink ears and tiny trunk.....she feels so safe and comfortable in the love they give her. Always makes me smile when they scratch one leg with the other foot :) Big majestic Sebakwe pushes his way through but was very careful to not push Khanyisa. This was beautiful to see. Thank you!
I could watch these elephants all day long! It's so amazing how graceful and self aware they are! They can be right next to a wiggling Khanyisa and never ever step on her in the slightest! I love how much they look out for little baby K and how much she loves EVERYONE! As males like Mambo come into sexual maturity, will they be driven away from the herd?
So lovely Adine Today Khanyisa is my foster elephant. I am very glad after so many times Khanyisa see on video with Lammie and Stavros and keepers and you Adine. I feel it is now family together. Thank so much for all the wonderful way you make the animals happy and healthy.

I've thought about it too. Kumbura may be a bit young to be an allomother, but maybe she is an allomother apprentice, babysitter definitely. It seems to me they have a ring for Khanyisa guard. In addition to Lundi and Bubi it includes Tokwe, Limpopo and Kumbura. And Klaserie seems to be a hang around too. So I'm sure they appreciate Kumbura's input, as it gives the other guardians time to do their own stuff. But who made Kumbura part of the ring? Maybe she just took the role, as she seems to be very close with both Timisa and Khanyisa. I wsn't yet around to see, if Kumbura had similar role when Timisa joined the herd. Would be interesting to know.

Sweet little muffin surrounded by love. Wonderful! 💜🐘💙🐘💜🐘💙🐘💜
When Khanyisa sneezed, I thought her ears were going to fly off. So cute.
Twice when Adine spoke to Kumbura and said her name, Kumbura replied with rumbles.
Thanks to all of you Carers, these elephants are so loved and they know it.
I love listening to elephants "talk". So many different sounds, grumbles, low deep sounds they make -- astounding!
Kanyisa lying down and not a single leg touches her. Large animals and very sensitive at the same time! And the explosion of sand on their bodies, is an amazing picture! 🐘💚

I know watching her so trusting lying there among the beautiful giants made me nervous but the Elly’s must have strong deep sensory perception.
I once saw a film of a baby Elephant being trampled by the running nerd. These guys are very careful!
How the entire herd love and care for their little Princess 💕.
I think Limpopo is the herd princess, but Khanyisa is the little cupcake.
