    I have the ENGL Fireball 25 and I just love it. Every time I see/listen to a comparison with the 100, I find the 25 a little more refined. There's definitively more gain in the 100. A lot of ppl found that even with the gain on minimum, it was just too much, so you ended up with less usable gain. So, the 25 was made with a more usable gain. I honestly prefer it that way, as I usually boost my amps with an overdrive. Of course the 100 has a bigger lower end, but again, I find the 25 has a more usable and controlled lower end. As for presence, I find that I don't need to dial in a lot, so I guess that's in-line with your findings too. I just love this little beast! 😍

    Got them both. The 100 has way more low end and punchier power section. Might be the heaviest engl ever. For recording and low volume 1 watt setting- the 25 is amazing. Voicing wise they are very close, 25 being raspier. The noise gate on both is phenomenal as well.

    It almost sounds like a comparison between an amp and a digitally modeled/captured version of the same amp. The 25 sounds great on its own, close to the 100. But the 25 seems static/compressed when compared to the 100 which has more dimension/movement to both the low and high and is less compressed.

    I'm finding that the lunch box amps, and even the micro amps are just as good as their bigger brothers. Also, a lot more affordable than the bigger amps. I don't play out in bands much these days, but for a home studio, they suit my needs just great. Yes, I'm aware of plug ins being available as well.

    I feel like most of these lower watt amps sound great, but the 100w just gives a "wider" sound. Almost sounds like a fairly aggressive high and low pass filter was applied to the 25w

Anyways... great review both amps rip dude great playing and quick turn around time for requested videos!

    Hey Kyle, I have an idea for a video. I’m curious how let’s say the Fireball 100 compares to the Engl in the helix through a Seymour Duncan powerstage into the same cab. Just curious how close it could really get and your thoughts since I can’t really spend 2000 on an amp at the moment lol but I have an awesome cab, cheap power amp and a Helix.

    I actually preffered the 100 wihout the TS9 overdrive, it became a bit thin and nasal. The 25 was better with the TS9, getting that mid-boost it needs.

  • @Leychen
    @Leychen 9 месяцев назад

    I bought the Fireball 25 and it's amazing, i usually prefer it over my old Invader 100 because usually the "bigger low end" of the 100w is too much anyways. The Fireball 25 does a much more controlled sound straight out of the box, also the gain knobs allow nice "edge of breakup" and crunch sounds, which is often hard to pull off with older Engls. I can play punchy metal riffs or even get close to classic vintage sounds with that thing if i want to, volume and clean headroom of these 25w is easily enough to keep up with a drummer.

  • @andrewbecker3700
    @andrewbecker3700 11 месяцев назад +1

    Would seem to me the 25 is the better choice for most people. If your playing out in a medium to large room, the 100 needs to be cranked way higher to get the same saturation and presence. This makes the lower wattage head much easier to dial in for most rooms. How many people can really use the 100 watt head practically? You just don't need all that power very often.

  • @R3vi3w3ed
    @R3vi3w3ed 11 месяцев назад +1

    Little more compression happening on the 25 but the tone is all there I suppose pushing the 100 volume would sound identical. That being said the 25 sounds better with everything at noon.

    One my headphones, I can hear the difference between the amps but its super subtle. I wonder what the difference would be on my monitors. I feel like the 25 would be a priceless tool for recording. I mean sure the 100 watt may be "better" but for tracking i don't need more low end or more saturation. Honestly I feel like that 25 would be easier to record just based on this video. I'm trying to imagine the tones you created being double tracked and spread. Yeah I gotta get one of those lil fellas in my collection!
