    i sold a perfectly working motherboard on eBay, it got sent back with a bent CPU socket pin which basically rendered it a paperweight, eBay forced me to refund him half the amount when he sent it back, i tried my best to win but they just favored the buyer, kind of ridiculous really if your not a big seller, i still reported the buyer though, it was my last time selling on eBay.

    Same situation happened to me..but I wasn't so lucky. The buyer returned a DVD/VCR unit that I had tested and worked. The buyer requested a return with the excuse that the DVD player would not read discs. The return was automatically approved. When the shipment was delivered it was badly packaged and damaged also missing some accessories. I called ebay told them the situation and they said that the tracking showed delivered and they were not liable for the badly shipped package so they had to rule in favor of the buyer and refunded the purchase price and return shipping with no questions asked. I have 100% feedback but If the seller protection is only going to protect top rated sellers that could be a green light for scammers all they have to do is look for sellers that do not have the top rated seal on their store to have the leverage. I stopped selling these DVD VCR units they bring good profits but way to many problems. Now I just focus on collectibles and toys something with some nastalgia and less returns.

    Had a buyer claim they never recieved item the other day. Tracking showed that they never collected it from sorting office and the buyer did say in message that he never went to sorting office to collect but still opened a case against me. Used Ebay live chat and case closed in my favor in less than 5 mins. Looks like Ebay are trying to look after there sellers.

    I just sold on eBay and the amount was over $1000. I was told by Mary in the department that holds funds and was told that even though the buyer has their item and left me wonderful feedback they are holding my money for 21 days. Just Incase the buyer would change their mind in that 21 days so I would have the funds for sure, to give back to them. That is a bunch of BS! Sounds to me like the sellers have 0 protection! As a buyer you can purchase even high dollar items then have buyers remorse keep them for 21 days and then say you want your money back and the seller would have to give it to you! What kind of BS policy is this????

    Can anybody advise please? I sold an item kn dbay and listed 'no return'. The buyer who committed to buy admitted that she 'accidentally' purchased the item and asked for a refund which I declined. The buyer has now escalated this to the resolution centre and put a hold on my payment through PayPal. The buyer claims the item is not as described when in fact this is untrue. The item does not fit! What are my rights does anyone know?

    • @celiuelong8904
      @celiuelong8904 3 года назад

      first thing first, the buyer claims that she '' accidentally" brought the item, she should've done three things, if her case was true, she would've tried to call you and inform you and eBay and their bank IMMEDIATELY about the accidentally purchase right after they brought it and realize they didn't want to buy it. Second, the right time and place, if the buyer waited for more than a day or two clearly it wasn't an accidentally purchased, when you buy something there's a transaction and that takes time called "pending" meaning the money in the bank hasn't gotten touch or moved anywhere until it says on the transaction the time and date, where it was brought, etc, that tells you that it is confirmed that the money has been touched and in this case was moving into the seller account. Thirdly the seller should not be effective in any way or form, even if it was returnable or not, in this matter it's necessarily not important, the buyer is not wanting to buy the item, and the seller is not selling the item, in this case, it is not their responsibility it is the buyer's job that was failed to stop the transaction, the buyer basely confirmed you and agree to give you the money and now wants it back. An example from my experience is that I wanted to buy something and there were two opinions I ACCIDENTALLY brought the item that I did not want. I check my account saying that my money was PENDING and telling me how much money I had. Once I was done looking account my account I called the people I brought from and my bank and told them that it was a mistake and both told me " it is okay we are going to cancel the transaction". problem-solve my money was in the bank and no one got hurt. I'm not a lawyer or an expert I'm an 18-year-old year and that is common knowledge.

    George, He's returned it because different countries have different DVD regions. UK is region 2 and USA is region 1. The discs will not read. So if you buy a DVD from America it will not play in a UK DVD player and vis-vera. So he's bought it, tried to copy the VHS to DVD or vis-versa and then reliasied he can't do it on your machine as it is region 2, so he's returned it. That's what I think anyway.

    Interesting... just want to point out that Doors are very common for getting stuck, did you try it with a disc? the gears are plastic and sometimes old greaase dries up and it needs molykote grease to make them move well again also as we know rubber belts are sometimes used and will not open the door as they are weak or perished, the tray weight/disc and going uphill can also affect the door opening. Another thing is when a DVD is written sometimes they disable the Open Door until a disc is finalised.
    So, great you had a reasonable response from protection and I learnt something today and great to see you in one peace as i not seen any content since the plane.

    Yep the buyer used it and transferred all of the vhs to dvd he needed then lied that it was broken to get his money back. For this reason I do not use GSP. Ebay will protect and favor the buyer regardless. Although you got your return postage back, you lost postage. Ebay buyer protection is 1000x better than seller protection will take his word over yours regardless had it escalated

    happens all the time with these type of items - people just buy it, transfer their dvd/vhs stuff and then lie it's not as received to try and scam a free return. then they just return their faulty unit, take parts out of the working ones and switch things around or send the original one backing working fine. had it happen so many times. ebay essentially let's them rent/hire these for free due to their awful returns system and the fact that buyers can abuse it without providing any evidence whatsoever.

To be a Top Seller you need to be high volume - it is not about how good you are as a seller but if you sell a lot. So Ebay is saying to people who sell 50 - 100 items a year you are screwed, eBay is making you a sitting duck for fraudsters. Ebay is disgusting. I am so angry that they saw the documentation of the damage and said that is too bad, the customer must get a refund. Horrible, greedy and amoral corporation.
