I’ve had my Pan Americana for a month now and totally agree with your thoughts on the Amarok!! I’ve had a Hilux and Wildtrak they were great but the new Amarok is buy far next level
Great video and great info. Never diven a VW, but I went and had a look at the next gen Amarok, and I'd have to agree with you 100%. Ended up picking up the Style V6 and absolutely love everything about it. It's an absolute weapon.
I bought the Style model 5 months ago in NZ. Style is not offered with the V6 here, but I'm pleased with performance and economy of the 2 litre. It's nice to drive, and tows my 3tonne caravan OK. Wish I could turn off the engine stop/start and auto lights permanently.
Great patisserie in Mittagong 😊 Really love the Amarok nice tidy unit. Ranger and the Raptor really shook up the industry. Definitely wouldn’t throw it out of my garage 😂😂😂😂
This ute is dope. Especially if your tall. Im 1.88 and have good confort compared to the new hilux and all other. Even has slighty more leg than ranger. Ranger leg room still good
We are big fans of VW, we have had the Touareg for years. When in Australia we loved the VW pick up truck (I think you call these Ut’s in Australia) that we saw there. Wish VW offered this vehicle in North America
Just subscribed to your channel looking forward to a review of a Pan Americana or Aventura. Shame about the driveway. 😂👍🤙😎Got the 2018 V6 Highline, never regretted it after being a lifelong Hilux driver from the LN166 on to the Hilux Vigo before I made the switch. Never regretted buying the Rok and am definitely looking to get a new Pan Americana when it arrives in Fiji either as a second car or selling my 2018 Rok. Anyways cheers from Fiji.
Nice review buddy. Disappointed I didn’t get to have a pie with you this time ☺️. Time to move your side fence 100mm 😋. This is certainly on my radar for my next vehicle…. But not the little engine 😎
I’d have one of those if it were available in the states. You know I’m a big fan of VW’s. Not that I don’t absolutely love my Gladiator. I just bought an F150 a few weeks ago for the bigger jobs and to save some miles on the Jeep. Great job Rob…you sold me on it.
calling it a ranger kiler when it was co developed by ford is a longshot. they ditched the vw v6 tdi for the powerstroke 3.2 so its more a ranger than a ranger killer
Fit and finish are identical, you are kidding yourself. They go down the same production line and are painted and assembled by the very same people. Apart from the obvious cosmetic styling differences there are some particular mechanical differences. In particular different suspension tuning. The Amarok has potentiometers both sides at the rear between the chassis and rear axle. For what purpose I wonder? Are they for automatic headlamp levelling? Thats the only thing I can think of. And why do VW not fit a spray-on or plastic load liner as standard?
@@ThrottleDownunder All our Rangers in the UK come from South Africa and so do our Amarok and they are identical to Thai ones apart from the detail standard equipment specified by local importers from either factory. For instance, surround cameras are standard in some countries but optional as part of packs in others. Some countries get electric trailer brake controllers as standard with tow packs while in other, not. I believe they all need a so-called J-brace modification to the tub mounting for rugged work or mounting hard tops. No doubt the front tub mounts will be modified in production in all factories before too long to eliminate this weakness.

They are a sweet ride mate. Shame about the drive way 🙄
I’m looking for a new car myself. Might test drive one mate. It’s either a Ute or a Patrol for me.
I was tossing up a wagon too, but the versatility for me i can see the benefits of another ute
Yuppies Truck…😉
Damn that driveway.
bloody driveway and house, need to knock down the house haha

Definitly worth considering mate for sure
Shame it is too wide for the driveway.
After owning a base model ute for the last 7 years, my next vehicle will have far more creature comforts.
Thats what I was like too Matty
Great video. id love one. how much?
They are different all over the county, best to check with your local dealers
2208 wide eh, looks like you’re gonna move house?! 😉🤙
Maybe to Central Coast?? lol

Thank you mate, thanks a couple of great trucks you got there
Do you feel nervous when you drive away from your camera? I hate doing it.
haha always I hate it, but gotta level up my shots so need to risk it for the biscuit
@@ThrottleDownunder I love those shots also. I need to do more.
Amarock is the best bakkie in the market

Why are the tire's so ordinary looking. Takes away hugely from its visual appeal.
I had an Amorak Style and now have a Wildtrack, Wildtrack all day long, Anorak cup holders crap, weird finishes inside, Wildtrack drive way better
Its a FORD
