Cape cod brand,my local brand,has little to no potato flavor..they steered me away from "kettle" style chips for years..when I tried Lay's Kettle, especially Salt and Vinegar ,I realized I was in error... generally not wild about the other Lay's chips ,the kettle style they make have become my favorite.. Kettle Brand are way too greasy for my taste,and they are always broken in the bag, unlike the Lay's

Perhaps for casual munching, but when you are at a pub watching the football with an energy drink or beers, they are pretty average. Fortunately they aren’t as big here in Australia and for good reason too. Give me Kettle or any of the slow cooked chips any day of the week.

But I do remember that the chips that I purchased in the store were not memorable. They were crunchy, salty, but did not have all the complex of the flavors that I like in a potato chip. They were not potatoey. In the factory I was given a bag, a plain paper bag, full of those chips just off the conveyor belt. They were absolute heaven. Everything you look at for in a potato chip. What I have discovered is that a lot of products you buy that are processed our wonderful, only if you get it the day that they were made at the factory. By the time you get it and it’s available to you, the product has changed. I found this to be true with shortbread cookies, cupcakes, muffins, and a variety of different snack foods. The problem is preserving all the flavors and keeping it from going stale.
Sun Chips are not gross. I love them in small doses. I like Mashed videos better than those from others like Babbletop because Mashed focuses on the product(s) with promotional materials, etc instead of random clips that have nothing to do with the subject.

Utz potato chips are pretty good, but their masterpiece is the big pretzels. You could get them at Sam’s in a gigantic tub. They were very salty and very dark, but not burned.

Clancy’s Chips are awesome and worth a trip to Aldi’s on it’s own. They are delicious and remind me of how chips tasted when I was a kid...a little bit more salt. Herr’s has the very best cheese doodles on the market. They are, by far, the cheesiest.

I grew up in western Canada eating Old Dutch chips. They are pretty much my go to for a plain ripple chip but for flavours I like Miss Vicky’s, Kettle Chips and Ruffles. Yum!

Surprise Pringles ranked so high. I have a sad look when I get Pringles, because I wish it was something else. They have this slight play dough flavor and they never have any seasoning on them.
When I was a young kid Lays chips were good and suddenly they changed and for about 5 yrs they were all basically burned. That's when my Mom discovered Charles Chips in the round metal can. Then places quit selling them and about the same time Lays got their act back together. I recently noticed Cracker Barrel sells them in their shop area, but the price was stupid high.

Kettle brand is a much thicker and therefore crunchier--not crispy--chip. ATK did a test and it's a love it or hate it chip.

Herr’s has the very best cheese doodles on the market. They are, by far, the cheesiest.
Clearly better than Lays, Wise, Utz, Herrs, and a third to a quarter the price. I avoid going to Aldi's because I can't resist them.
Are Pringles really chips??? I love them, but they are made from a mash that is is formed into a chip shape...chips should be a slice of potato and not constructed chips from mush...

I live in Michigan and we have a brand called Uncle Ray's. Their roasted garlic is my favorite.
Try the kettle brand from Meijer there great also all there chips are great

I grew up in western Canada eating Old Dutch chips. They are pretty much my go to for a plain ripple chip but for flavours I like Miss Vicky’s, Kettle Chips and Ruffles. Yum!

I remember Bell Brand potato chips. They came at first in a box. There was also Lara Scudders Potato Chips.

Surprise Pringles ranked so high. I have a sad look when I get Pringles, because I wish it was something else. They have this slight play dough flavor and they never have any seasoning on them.

When I was a young kid Lays chips were good and suddenly they changed and for about 5 yrs they were all basically burned. That's when my Mom discovered Charles Chips in the round metal can. Then places quit selling them and about the same time Lays got their act back together. I recently noticed Cracker Barrel sells them in their shop area, but the price was stupid high.
Years ago, in Michigan, we bought Charles Pretzels in the metal can. Best pretzel I ever had.
Agreed that Charles is great and that the price makes them unbuyable.
