For as brash as Lord Shaxx is, there's no question that he's shown better judgement than both Lord Saladin and Zevala. It's not even that he isn't willing to use caution either. He warned the Vanguard about the mistake they were making by sending Guardians to fight Crota at the Mara Imbrium; which ultimately led to what is called "The Great Disaster." The man is a born leader, but isn't recognized enough to be considered one.

Zavala doesn't go against logic while shaxx goes with his instinct both are not wrong or right but they should try to find a way to work them together

It’d be cool to have a 6 man activity fighting alongside shaxx at twilight gap, like a reminiscence mission where there’s like a cutscene where shaxx starts talking about the battle and you spawn in with others and complete objectives to hold the wall

Lyonheart501st That would be a great PvE horde mode activity! Although, preferrably not on "raid level" - I don't like raiding, but I would like to play that.
Lyonheart501st Heh, thanks. I've actually seen a lot of suggestions along these lines, many of which put the access point for the event in the Infinite Forest. That could work, but it would - again - cut it off from people who don't have the Osiris DLC.
dats true, but im pretty sure people would buy the DLC to play that.... well... nobody really plays too much anymore :( it would have to be like a strike (3 players) because i dont think it should be solo-able
The whole "skill" argument is so stupid. Who the fuck cares if a game or class or whatever takes skill? It's a bloody video game and nobody who complains about "no skill" shit is a goddamn pro player themselves. Fun trumps skill.
Reaction: Shaxx: *laughter* Nice one guardian !! Saladin: *Stern stare* I hope you are better fighter then comedian !! Zaval: *throws dissapointed stare and walks off*
Really love your videos. I've seen a bunch, but decided to sign in today just to comment and subscribe. You're clearly an academic, who respects the source. There was lots of well presented references within this video in a really nice and clean style. And you don't make many assumptions. Even though the voice in the Sunbreaker quest is surely the one and only Shaxx, you still preserve a non-bias analysis. Also, it's under 10 minutes which I appreciate. And your attitude is quite humble. My Name is Byf by contrast... would have probably used double the amount of time, sourced less, complained about a non-existant "inaccuracy" in there somewhere, and generally just wasted time smelling his own farts. The arrogance.
I didn't play D1 or read any of that lore, but from the Sunbreaker's contract statement, it kind of sounds like Osiris made the contract with him when he was Vanguard Commander, and then when Zavala took over he forced them out of the city because he disagree, but you could be right too! Hopefully Bungie gives us more information.
I think its possible that the agreement between the city and the sunbreakers occurred before osiris left amd while he was still vanguard commander, i think that after he left zavala broke that agreement.
I noticed you said "as awkward as Saint 14's skull". You can find his tomb on one of the maps, maybe it has something to do with Saints death which is why they are at odds. Idk I love this theory though.
it feels like they are preparing some kind of "memory raids" or something. big events like Twilight Gap were all done with six guardians, just like a raid. imagine how cool it would be to have a "raid" activity where you play as these legendary characters from the past? you start it up and it pulls up a character select screen, each player picks a character, and you use their gear, voice, skills, etc. for the whole raid. strategy becomes more of which player is best with which character, rather than if everyone has the best PVE weapons. one player gets Shaxx, one gets Liu Feng, Ana Bray, Nkechi-32, Abdi, and Truce. this story seems pretty inspired by the battle of Thermopylae, where the 300 Spartans died protecting Greece, so imagine how awesome it would be to do it with six. just outlast the fallen forces long enough for Zavala and Saladin's counter attack to happen. obviously with some big bads showing up here and there to make things interesting, but mainly it stands apart as a challenge of an intense amount of enemies nearly constantly attacking. some moments when the Fallen retreat to re-strategize would make for the "bathroom break" moments you get in regular raids, but mainly keeping the focus on the brutal constant onslaught those six guardians faced. it would be epic.
I really hope that one day we get a story quest where we get to have Shaxx working with us like Cayde in "Last Call" but obviously without him dying at the end.
I would love a mission with Osiris again where we need to go back in time to help with the battle of twilight gap. Dark skies, stormy weather and an ocean of fallen
I know that Black Armory was released after this video, but another helpful little lore hint is confirming that Shaxx had a decision to make: Disobey his orders and counterattack, or retreat
Fun fact, lord Shaxx and Saladin were partners in doubles, and both of them seemed to have been competitive with each other on who’s fist of havoc is better! Lord Shaxx also loved partnering with Lady Efrideet, and he said that she loves throwing titans around and that some titans love to be thrown. I think that our guardian will be the one to break the awkwardness between Lord Shaxx and Saladin. The reference to Lord Shaxx and Saladin’s team is referenced randomly at the crimson doubles event, after winning.
Shaxx and Saladin hate each other obviously because Shaxx got a Gjallarhorn in his first raid

Lyonheart501st That would be a great PvE horde mode activity! Although, preferrably not on "raid level" - I don't like raiding, but I would like to play that.
I LIKE YOUR IDEA MORE!!!!
Lyonheart501st Heh, thanks. I've actually seen a lot of suggestions along these lines, many of which put the access point for the event in the Infinite Forest.
That could work, but it would - again - cut it off from people who don't have the Osiris DLC.
dats true, but im pretty sure people would buy the DLC to play that....
well... nobody really plays too much anymore :(
it would have to be like a strike (3 players) because i dont think it should be solo-able
Lyonheart501st You're probably right. In any case, it would be pretty cool ^^
Glad to see you are doing well and that you have returned
"No concept of fair play"
Then why is IB in D2 entirely skill-based now 🤔
If you consider team shots skill then yes
Parker Neilson Soon it's gonna be skill-based then...
Exactly, bro...Team shooters have no concept of fair play at all lol.
The whole "skill" argument is so stupid. Who the fuck cares if a game or class or whatever takes skill? It's a bloody video game and nobody who complains about "no skill" shit is a goddamn pro player themselves. Fun trumps skill.
Skilled based matching in Destiny after The Taken King? hyperLUL
Saladin, Shaxx, Zavala, Cayde and Ikora
Vs The Master Chief, Arbiter, Rookie, Noble 6, and Sgt. Johnson
I miss destiny 1 :’(
There are still lots of people playing it!
Then play it
Then play it
8:36 If Osiris got sunbreakers to help, it would make sense that a sunbreaker, specifically one not from the city, aka Liu Feng, was there.
Lord Saladin=Lord Salad
I'm sorry
Reaction:
Shaxx: *laughter* Nice one guardian !!
Saladin: *Stern stare* I hope you are better fighter then comedian !!
Zaval: *throws dissapointed stare and walks off*
Intro gave me chills lol
Imagine if the events of Twilight Gap was converted into a six man raid
Shaxx ultimately did the right thing. As a Titan. He stood. He fought. He won.
I really want the audio file that has Lord Shaxx talking about twilight gap from the beginning of the video.
I reckon it could be a mix of Shaxx disobeying the order to retreat but also him working with a Sunbreaker.
The artwork you use would make an amazing art book
Lord shax sounds awsome
I noticed you said "as awkward as Saint 14's skull". You can find his tomb on one of the maps, maybe it has something to do with Saints death which is why they are at odds. Idk I love this theory though.
I wonder if Saladin secretly likes Mara and uhh... Shaxx possibly........ *ahem*
I wonder if we'll ever experience the Twilight Gap personally cause it sounds like a mess from what I've heard about it.
Good to hear from you again my dude👍
You can here some of the sadness in his voice when he said they died repeatedly
nice too see your back bro !!
backround gameplay is great my dude, nice rockets btw
Someone gotta give Gammatrap a job. That boy got skills that pay them bills!
The mountaintop lore actually says what happened at twilight gap and how shaxx disobeyed orders
Been waiting for this video for so long man
it feels like they are preparing some kind of "memory raids" or something. big events like Twilight Gap were all done with six guardians, just like a raid.
imagine how cool it would be to have a "raid" activity where you play as these legendary characters from the past? you start it up and it pulls up a character select screen, each player picks a character, and you use their gear, voice, skills, etc. for the whole raid. strategy becomes more of which player is best with which character, rather than if everyone has the best PVE weapons. one player gets Shaxx, one gets Liu Feng, Ana Bray, Nkechi-32, Abdi, and Truce. this story seems pretty inspired by the battle of Thermopylae, where the 300 Spartans died protecting Greece, so imagine how awesome it would be to do it with six. just outlast the fallen forces long enough for Zavala and Saladin's counter attack to happen. obviously with some big bads showing up here and there to make things interesting, but mainly it stands apart as a challenge of an intense amount of enemies nearly constantly attacking. some moments when the Fallen retreat to re-strategize would make for the "bathroom break" moments you get in regular raids, but mainly keeping the focus on the brutal constant onslaught those six guardians faced. it would be epic.
I really hope that one day we get a story quest where we get to have Shaxx working with us like Cayde in "Last Call" but obviously without him dying at the end.
Great vid, love hearing about this stuff!
I would love a mission with Osiris again where we need to go back in time to help with the battle of twilight gap. Dark skies, stormy weather and an ocean of fallen
I know that Black Armory was released after this video, but another helpful little lore hint is confirming that Shaxx had a decision to make: Disobey his orders and counterattack, or retreat
im glad that they did some voice acting for the grimoir cards
I want to see the Shaxx, Saladin, Zavala dinner that that grimoire card mentions.
