I've owned a RSL Speedwoofer 10S for over three years. Your review is accurate. Of note, it easily separates the bass guitar from the bass drum. Very musical. Plenty loud enough for home theater, too. The only "upgrade" I would consider is a second one. Unnecessary, at the moment. THE best value in subwoofers, period.
How big is your room? Deciding if I should get one or two, my basement living room is 20x20 with 8 foot ceiling, Not a dedicated home theater with no acoustic treatment and it's under the bedrooms so can't crank it up too high
I've had mine since late last year and I love it. I tried it in a number of locations with good results. I even set it right next to my listening chair and it sounds great. I agree with the review, for the price it's hard to beat. The fact that you like it gives me reassurance. Good video...keep them coming
My RSL 10 sits right next to my listening chair which is 6.5 feet from UB5s which are 2 feet away from the wall in my 11 x 14 room. The music is all full, front wall soundstage Friends who listen can't believe how the Elacs can produce so much great bass until I point to the black cube table next to the chair. RSL, great company, value, speaker. Thanks for review and praise.
I have one of these in my basement theater. It's absolutely perfect for movies/music. I'm about 50/50 for both. Easily one of the best purchases I have ever made regarding audio equipment. I'm thinking I may need to pick up another lol. This sub matches perfectly with my Dali Oberon 5 towers so it's a win/win for me! Highly recommended.
I have a pair of the RSL Outsider 2, and they are super impressive for the price. I can't think of an outdoor speaker I'd take over them at ~$200. Much better than I expected! I really need to check out their other offerings, I imagine they are fantastic at any price.
I've had the opposite experience with this sub. It's good for movies but I turn it off for 2 channel and my near field experience with this was 1 hour because I could not get it to play nice. The Amp was all or nothing. Mine is for sale and I plan on building a servo sub in the near future. I bought this after all the hype but I'm not a fan personally. The company was nice to work with. I blew the amplifier and they sent me a new one with no questions asked. I will disclose that I worked in an audio store so, I heard lots of subs and my speakers are full range, 91db efficient and very fast.
Your passion for the Speedwoofer 10s gets me excited. Great video. I have the same passion for my JL D110's. I'm just in love with them, even 2 years later. The Speedwoofer wins over any KEF and REL sub in my mind because they included variable phase control. After learning how to properly dial in phase and testing different crossover points and locations in the room. Phase does weird shit in a room and variable phase control is a must for absolute perfect integration and maximum performance. For us dedicated 2 channel listeners that don't have the ability to input the distance in the amp, a 0°-180° phase switch isn't going to cut it. REL & KEF should know this and for them not to include variable phase on a sub that costs more is just lunacy and laziness. Variable phase control should be an industry standard on subs but it's not. And that's a shame.
It is hard to get much below $399 even if you go the DIY route. I did a DIY 8" Dayton Reference build aiming to do a lot of what this sub is going for (speed, musicality etc) and it came out to around $300 with amp, sub, box. That is not considering my 6 or so hours labor, and that is not including price and labor putting a finish on the box!
That is why I told everyone DIY is not cheap unless you go for those clones for something valuable like Wilson Audio speaker. Those DIY companies are greedy.
I wouldn't include the finish in the price because you can give it a 1-2 thousand dollar finish or a 50-100 dollar finish. Obviously one is going to take up more time, detail, and knowledge.
@@lanx0003 You are right. The higher tier you go, the lower the relative cost of going DIY. But then again, DIY is not about saving money for most people. It's about the process :)
Would really like for you to do a direct comparison of the Mark 2 version of the Speedwoofer 10S against the REL T5-7-9X series of subwoofers including using the high level inputs on both. Thank you.
Alot of people dont realise that higher end ported designs make less distortion than sealed . As far as drivers are concerned the spider(s) on the back of the cone absorb the nuance by bieng so rigid . The rogers labs seems to be an element of a variation of the russel k red cabinets. Passive radiators typically have too much hangover . So basically a well designed and integrated ported design can outperform any other design at least at home. Sundown originally created the first sql driver and this is because of the progressive spider compliance arrangement. Digital designs makes the most advanced subs but are not availible for home subs.
Thanks for the informative review. I have a question , I have a chance to purchase 2 SVS pb1000 for $800 . Now in your opinion would it be a better choice buying the RSL 10” or purchase the SVS pair ?
I am biased as I have made this purchase. It's as good as you can get for any price within its performance boundaries. In addition, I bought a smaller SVS unit to drop in on the upper teens and lower twenties frequency range. In my small room (one open side), I get what I both wanted and could afford. What many think they need (110 DB in a cathedral at 10 Hz) is rarely present and extraordinarily expensive to reproduce.
@@JaredSchumaier SVS SB-12. It's close to the bottom of the line. 12-inch and a plate amp. Flat to about 20 and it goes deeper. Was on sale and about $500. This gives me the growl which the RSL didn't. It also takes pressure off the RSL to handle the nonsense down there. I have the infamous 'not ready for prime time' Yamaha A8-A (it's been updated to quash criticism) and it has two subs out and some bass management. Between the subs' amps and it, It works well. I'm completely into omni so your circumstances most likely are different but I'm done reaching for Nirvana. I wanted smooth, non-fatiguing, not suitable for reference level (still LOUD), and a well-dispersed field of sound but retaining some specificity.
I really don't think RSL Speedwoofer 10S can beat the old SVS PB-1000 I've had both, but the PB1000 is far stronger and with much more powerful bass. Now I have SVS PB2000 PRO which is a whole other story 😆😆
How does this work out for 2 channel stereo listening only? Would match up with KLH model 5’s and Cambridge Audio Evo 150. Just wanted to know what you think about these for purely music listening?
Thanks for this review man...😮💨... I was ablut to go with th Monolith 10"THX but...to much $ for what I need. This will do perfectly with the specs and price for my needs. THANK YOU 🙏🏽 for your time and help me to make a wise desition☝🏽😌.
I have both, the RSL is much larger so as you would expect it can play louder and extend lower. The 3000 Micro is going to give you much nicer aesthetics, a form factor no wife would complain about, and output that is very impressive for the size. Oddly the RSL plays quicker, it really is a ported sub that has the quickness of a sealed unit and earns it's name fair and square.
Hello sir. Great video. I just pre ordered 2 of the newly available RSL 10s MK II subs. I'm extremely excited to get the multi subwoofer benefits in my home theatre. These new models promise to sound even better then the previous 10s with this new XDR technology also with more power. 1020W peak!!! 400RMS. Movie mode claims it can dig now down to 18HZ with added LFE for movie mode. I have a basement home theatre room I just finished building. Standard build, will have acrostic treatment (curtains and wall panels.) Do you think I did good getting 2 of these babies?
@@demonreturns4336 Sir. Let me tell you...these babies are amazing. For the price, these 2 work together incredibly well. They are definitely worth every penny and then some. They literally vibrate the house. Movies are as deep as when I'm in a real theatre. Some movies really dig deep and powerful at moments. They do not disappoint ar all. Fantastic purchase. Happy home theater dude.
@@demonreturns4336 Absolutely friend. The fact they seem out so fast tells the whole story. People are hearing and liking. The 1st models I read were amazing, I'm so happy I landed the 2nd generation models. Great customer service btw as well.
Nice review, wonderful find. A bit late but does this blend in your opinion to the Triangle Br02 well? Or just get the Br03 or 07. Thinking the mid and highs of the Br02 so nice. Cheers and thanks for the review.
Will this work with a dj mixer? I’m looking for a sub and speakers to play music on in my 20ft x 10ft music room. Would be for dj practice, music production and small get together (less than 20 ppl)
Haven't you watch other reviews on this sub? That's what makes it soo good because it does sound great at low volume also... don't generalise, this sub does everything well.
I just picked up a SVS SB2000 for $500 that is arriving tomorrow and now I come across this video and feeling FOMO haha. Thoughts? I listen to both music and watch movies.
Are those R11 towers curved anywhere on the back or is that camera lens making it seem flared out wide at the back/bottom? .. ... What I am seeing as a tower look is actually REALLY nice.. Maybe I'll 3D model it out. =) Great review. Nice to get a variety of brands covered and real room perspective on performance. Great work.
Thujan, after watching this review twice, I went and ordered two speed woofers to stiffen up my Tektons in the bass region. RSL's website was helpful in explaining how to hook them up to my VanAlstine control amp since it has no outs other than speaker connections. They put all the money into the sound with this amp. Basically it's similar to how a REL subwoofer is connected using a second set of speaker wires to the sub and using the subs internal crossover setting. My question to you is do you recommend running filters to the mains to "take some of the load off them" as some people recommend or run the mains at all frequencies? Which is better for blending since the tektons on their own are no slouch in the bass and can handle lower frequencies without fear of damage like smaller monitors? Thank you
Hi, I saw that you own the KEF r400b. I own this to. Think it's a real winner, but I have no chance to compare it with other subs and there are not much reviews of it in the net. Have you compared the r400b with the new Kc62? I asked the KEF support regarding crossover settings with LS50WII and they suggested to use the KF92 setting, so I suspect it is close to the KF92 than to KC62.
Hey buddy amazing video as always. So I ordered the SMSL DA9 after watching your review on it. I was wondering what DAC would you recommend for it. My budget for it would be around $400 Thank you very much for any advice.
Really interesting review.. thanks for bringing it into the light. I'm only interested in these for 2 channel audio so the thought of buying two of these for both L & R channels at this price is really attractive. Which of the REL music subs (ie. T7, T9, etc.) does this compete directly with in your opinion?
The REL T series are musical subwoofers with better performance for music ( In terms of speed, integration with speakers, bass detail). In terms of extension and output these would comparable to the T7/T9 series. However the RSL Speedwoofers aren't that far behind, but you don't get that nice piano black finish.
good question bro.. By the way i got the rel T9i, but i dont have the RSL before. But would be getting the rsl for a test and compete it directly with the rel T9. The rel T9i do have that "texture" in the bass. and its really not a "one note bass" sub. BUT this rel t9 is not good for movie. It does not produce that suddenly tactile bass that hit you chest hard enough. Saying that, you can't volume up too much rel. This is a thing i dont like about rel. But its good for normal listening where you want to hear all the bass texture, the bass details. Its like , it build for the purpose of enhancing the sound or to fill up the gap of what the front speaker cannot do on the bass region. Its just that. It just that. I try to do EQ on it with rew, and no matter how i set it, the rel just not meant to give u that sudden explosion of bass that hit so hard on your chest that you will jump up. No, it does not do that. But i do believe the higher model of rel like the S series would give u that tactile bass cause it has higher wattage to give u that sudden pump. having a RMS 300w with 500w peak is very different from 300w with 1000w peak. The peak still play an important role for that sudden punch. Having say that, S series way too expensive. For this reason, i am looking for other sub that can give me both the texture and detail but at the same time that suddenly shocking slam bass to your face in a much affordable cost. RSL, HSU, PB1000 might be it. Yea i know it might lack abit of the bass details or texture...but honestly by how much? i dont think its a lot. i can always add two RSL with that price and its still lower than the rel t9i and i believe add 2 sub will give me back the texture and details.....In my opinion i think a great sub should be (1) give u the texture in bass (2) bass details and speed (3) and the sudden attack . so this is just my 2cen...
What sub would you get if your options were the following: SVS, REL, JL audio? Ported vs sealed for mix use for home theater + music (60% music, 40% movies with a budget of $2-3K).
Even though Rel subs are great for music, the 1205 is more for HT duties rather then 2-channel music. With 40% movies and 60% 2-channel, I have similar listening habits as yourself and I have a stereo pair of small 8-inch down firing Rel subwoofers positioned behind my stereos (as recommended!) and they sound absolutely great in my small 13 x 11.5 ft living room. I give them 8 out of 10 for my movie experience and 10/10 for 2-Channel music. (Click on the red dragon twice to listen to them in action)
3/27/24 WOW ! Nice review. Think I’m leaning towards trying this out against my SVS 3000 micro which is ok but I’m looking for something else , just can’t seem make a choice… until this video. Unfortunately they are out of stock right now. Can’t even preorder yet ( the MK II IM referring to . Philosophy better then this version reviewed here. We’ll see . I would like to find supper fast base and hers the key , that U can feel as well . Not-in the form of a long drowning drawn out note but instead fast and punchy. Started with a cheap 10 100w klipsch , way to drowny and over powering . Went to Rel T zero which was an improvement over the klipsch but I struggled to hear it , I know that is there designed in characteristic, but I wanna hear and feel my base. So I tried there T7 10 inch and just don’t like it’s speed and lack of punch or thump. So then I threw two Polk 8” subs into the ring of tryouts and thought there was somewhat improvement . Maybe cause of the duel subs . By the way two channel listener only . No TV or Theodore. Just music. Now I can’t wait to try the speed woofer MK II when it’s back in stock . Thanks for making this review. - SEAN from NJ
Okay so here's my question: You say it's fast because it's a 10" sub. But actually, wouldn't a 12" or 15" woofer in a Loudspeaker dedicated for stereo listening (for example the ones in (old) tannoys or the good ol' JBL's be way faster and punchier? Unless you listen to a lot of low frequency heavy music (I'm talking about sub 30Hz), there is, If you have appropriate speakers, not even a need for this sub, right? I'd be VERY curious, how it performs from 30-80hz or even up to 100hz in comparisson to speakers like the Tektons. (I do really miss a high pass filter for speakers and subs. would be so practical in apartmentbuildings) Oh and I wanted to add: The enclosure design used is a TQWT design. Usually it's used in speakers though. With this design it is indeed possible to build relatively small cabinets almost as slim as the totem tribe. These speakers usually only use small 6-8" woofer but due to the design it plays down to 30hz (with quite a punch too, compared to "normal" encloure designs).
I am scouring internet to check reviews of Buchardt A700. But none exists. Reviewer who has not checked KEF R11 may not have proper reference to compare the A700 with. Since there are zero R11 reviews, I guess you are the only eligible person to take on the A700. Hope Mads gifts you a pair.
a good subwoofer is equally superior for HT and music. there is no such thing as a "slow" or "quick" woofer. there are only thoughtfully designed enclosures and speakers that compliment the enclosure. please stop using the terminology "fast" vs "slow" when what you REALLY mean is that the driver and enclosure are well matched for each other.
- G R E A T // Informative video . The R S L ' s . . . Very - Very - Nice . No Joke . However . . . they do have a decent competitor . Cambridge Audio Minx X201 . -
Short answer: No. I've owned both the Speedwoofer and the HT1205. The HT1205 is much faster then the Speedwoofer and the HT1205 is better for music. The Speedwoofer is a great all around sub though. Does good with music. It's multi-purpose.
Several videos about the mkII are available now. 400w RMS, 1025w peak. Plays lower, louder, and faster than the version featured here. Definitely worth $450USD.
I would avoid B&W subwoofers. Amp failure is quite common (owned one before). The ASW608 was released in 2009 and the capacitors they use within the plateamp do not age well. If you have warranty and are able to strike up a deal then maybe.
It was released then, but they still make them. So you're getting new capacitors. And probably different ones then what they originally used, if indeed they did have issues with them. Nemo Propaganda absolutely loves his, and have it a great review. I was thinking of checking one out myself, but I need a little more power I feel. I like to rock out once in a while, and my tower speakers are 91db sensitivity. Also this is the first I've ever heard about them having problems with their subs, and I've read a heck of a lot of reviews on them from consumers who've bought them online. In fact I've probably read/seen every review there is on these, because I was thinking of getting a pair. And while I'm sure there was a review, or three that told of a failure. I don't remember seeing a pattern at all, and every product has some failures. That's how it goes unfortunately. That being said. If it worries you. A REL t/5 would be a great alternative. Either way. Good luck. ✌️
@@wezzman1 That is true, we pay a lot more for imported American electronics. A high end amp costs about $30,000 but importer puts it as £30,000. Why not find a local dealer and compare??
Thanks Jay. I just ordered the new RSL which now has 400 RMS and over 1000 peak. My question is did you actually try using the wireless feature and if so, was there any loss in quality or bugs that you noticed?
@@pampampo so far it's working well but I am still on a learning curve as far as base management because it's the first time I am using two subs and my entire system is also upgraded
I should be getting the emotiva airmotive t2 plus towers next week to go with C2+ center. I am using RSL c34E CEILING SPEAKERS. ONKYO RZ-50 WITH EMOTIVA XPA 3 CHANNEL EXT AMP
You're wrong, there's no difference between a home theater sub and a music sub, every sub's purpose is to create accurate, deep bass at high volumes. I should know, I own 14 of them Having said that, from what i've seen the RSL Speedwoofer does seem to be the best budget subwoofer around although I don't own one
Should check out rythmik L12. Doesn't get a lot of attention, internet direct sub that don't seem to send many out for reviews, but just recently have to a couple reviewers. 13" cube sealed dsp controlled. -3 dB reaches -17 I believe for $575. Comparable to svs 2000 for excellent price.
@@JPWinters thanks for pointing out I wasn't 100% accurate off the top of my head. Sure many audiophiles know who rythmik is, but these channels aren't only for seasoned audiophiles are they. 14x14x15.5. Still impressively small, I read it was dsp controlled otherwise very difficult to achieve such a low -3 in a sealed box.
Right now, they charge a flat fee of $50 for return shipping. No free return any more and, most seriously, out of stock seemingly for good. Well, no big deal look somewhere else then.
Well….I was excited until I looked at the cost for Canada. Approximately $100 for exchange rate. Approximately $100 shipping. And about $160 for taxes and customs. A real shame!
Music is much more difficult and complicated to do right by a sub. So, if it does music proper, it will do the movies too. It depends what you want too. If you want a sub that goes deep and do home theater good, you will go for HT sub. But if you want real quality sub that elevates soundtrack and atmosphere of the movie you will go for music sub, especially if you have only one system for all.
How would you compare these to the REL T/5i or the new T/5x for music. I was going to buy a pair of the RELs but these are very tempting at the price for a pair. I have what I would say was a med size room and was a little worried about the smaller RELs. Thanks
The REL T5(x/i) are better subwoofers when it comes down to speed and integration. However if you care more about extension and filling a medium size room you can't go wrong with the Speedwoofers (they are about 70% there in terms of speed). Otherwise you may have to up your budget to accomodate T7(x/i).
@@ThujanK That for the quick reply.Thujan. Yeah the T/7X is what I would like to get, but with covid everything's a bit tight at the moment. I really love the speed and system integration of the RELs, also the fast filters they have with the high level inputs. I may get the RSLs for now and move then to a second system down the road when I can get the T/7x or 9s. Have you ever head any of the Tekton subs, such as the 2-10s? Thanks again.
@@racesla I haven't heard any of the Tekton subwoofers yet. But we plan on reviewing a hometheatre setup from Tekton down the line. Thanks for watching!
Anybody have a sub-woofer that produces a low frequency quiet hum?. It is not the sub-woofer itself (I don't think). I can leave it plugged in and powered on and there will be NO HUM if I disconnect the inter-connect cables that are plugged from my sub to my AMP. Can the AMP itself cause a ground loop? I heard a "Isolation Transformer/Ground Loop Hum Eliminator" might help? Any suggestions? I like to listen to Jazz a lot and that music can be dynamic. Even though the hum is not very loud - During quiet passages in Jazz the noise can be very noticeable. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
My heart goes out to you I know what you're going through 🤯 Do you have your subwoofer plugged into a separate electricity wall socket compared to the rest of your setup?
@@Antibackgroundnoise Thanks TP - I actually fixed the problem. When I purchased my new sub-woofer and my new power AMP, I was told to go to the sub from my power AMP. And, the problem started about 1 month after. Someone suggested try going from my pre-amp. That did the trick. The sub sounds better than it ever did and it also behaves better. The knobs are much more sensitive and it Shuts off after no signal in about 10-12 minutes. Sometimes it never shut off when I went from the "loop back out" ports on my power AMP. No complaints at all now. If you know of anyone having a similar problem - suggest to them a different path to the sub. Thanks again for reaching out. It really was bothering me for about 1 week - 10 days.
Buying a sub from one of the fancy speaker company (like KEF) is a bad idea. Sub is either best bought from a direct to consumer, subwoofer specialty company or a DIY sub using a proven design and parts. You would end up paying lot less for a much better sub.
I don't get this it's 700$ buddy you live in Toronto Canada not in the USA, so if you have a scoop on something that us Canadians should know say it. I'm upset I can understand guys like the Audiophiliac, Zero fidelity catering to Americans because their Americans, on the other hand your Canadian . Good review meh depends where you live Next best thing.
Bet he gets more views in the US than Canada. It’s playing to the right market. Which is how you develop a successful channel and make money. I’m sure this channel isn’t just for the hell of it.
They have a lot of Canadian views let’s take darco from Germany huge channel he caters to the European market prices in Us and Euro also British audiophile prices are in Us and Pounds I never got a response from them so I guess you’re spot on.

@@lanx0003 You are right. The higher tier you go, the lower the relative cost of going DIY. But then again, DIY is not about saving money for most people. It's about the process :)

Thanks Tee-Jay!
Got one last year. Love it.
The compression guide is essentially a variation of a mass loaded transmission line. Which is a very good thing.
Haha I agree. Companies should buy competing products to see where they are : )
Thanks for watching to the end!😁
MK Sound MX12 or MX10 always overlooked!!!! Most musical sub hands down
Thanks for the informative review. I have a question , I have a chance to purchase 2 SVS pb1000 for $800 . Now in your opinion would it be a better choice buying the RSL 10” or purchase the SVS pair ?
Thanks for the video. How does it compare to the SVS SB-3000?
Their customer service is awesome too
Best T-shirt Ever! 😉✨
Thanks! 👌
SVS sb1000 is awesome with music in my small room, legit thump and plenty of adjustments to dial in to taste
Thanks for introducing this to me guys.... just wish it didn't hike the price. Bought it anyway lol
Great video!
aye!! a Thujan video!!!! Hiiiii.
Hey buddy. Amazing video as always. So I o
Which SVS did you pair with this one?
I’m getting port chuffing with my new RSL Speedwoofer at about 70% gain playing a 25-30hz sound test, is that normal?
How does this work out for 2 channel stereo listening only? Would match up with KLH model 5’s and Cambridge Audio Evo 150. Just wanted to know what you think about these for purely music listening?
What was the center channel and standing loudspeakers in the theater room?
The new rel ht 1003 mk2 plays + 10 db more then the old 1003 mk1 then. Any review of the new mk2 series then?.
Thanks for this review man...😮💨...
I was ablut to go with th Monolith 10"THX but...to much $ for what I need.
This will do perfectly with the specs and price for my needs.

Yep, and it's my next video review lol.
@@ThujanK can’t wait!
I wonder how the the RSL compares to the SVS 3000 Micro?
This would be a good match up
I have both, the RSL is much larger so as you would expect it can play louder and extend lower.
Why don’t you tell us….. 6 mo the later how have they been?
@@demonreturns4336 Sir. Let me tell you...these babies are amazing. For the price, these 2 work together incredibly well. They are definitely worth every penny and then some.
Nice review, btw that amount of power means it will sound less expressive or not that good if i use it at 10% or 20% volume?
At low Listening levels the bass is very clean. I wouldn't say it's less expressive.
Great review. Nice to get a variety of brands covered and real room perspective on performance. Great work.
Thanks for this!
Always been intrigued with this RSL sub. Do you have your own channel? Haven't seen any recent reviews by you.
how would this compare to a Rel S510 ?
Hey buddy amazing video as always. So I ordered the SMSL DA9 after watching your review on it. I was wondering what DAC would you recommend for it.
My budget for it would be around $400
Thank you very much for any advice.
Personally I would get the matching SMSL SU9 DAC for $460 it is an excellent performer. But for under 400$ I would recommend the Schiit audio Modius.
Geshelli j2 without question
@@ufarkingicehole Thank you. I ordered one. It’s on back order.
Can we talk about how Yamaha makes servo woofers for extremely cheap?
I was gonna get this sub as I’ve heard of the great reviews 3-4 years ago it ended up just getting an SVS PB2000
I’m in Amsterdam, any tips on finding these in EU?
What sub would you get if your options were the following: SVS, REL, JL audio? Ported vs sealed for mix use for home theater + music (60% music, 40% movies with a budget of $2-3K).
A PAIR of rel 1205's are on sale right now for around 1400 bucks, boom! Send me a check in the mail for the money you just saved under budget!🤣
Has anyone used the wireless option?
Any downsides?
(I do really miss a high pass filter for speakers and subs. would be so practical in apartmentbuildings)
Oh and I wanted to add: The enclosure design used is a TQWT design. Usually it's used in speakers though. With this design it is indeed possible to build relatively small cabinets almost as slim as the totem tribe. These speakers usually only use small 6-8" woofer but due to the design it plays down to 30hz (with quite a punch too, compared to "normal" encloure designs).
They do not pay shipping back. Check their website.
I am scouring internet to check reviews of Buchardt A700. But none exists. Reviewer who has not checked KEF R11 may not have proper reference to compare the A700 with. Since there are zero R11 reviews, I guess you are the only eligible person to take on the A700. Hope Mads gifts you a pair.
thanks for this review! Im waiting for my Double Impact SEs to arrive... do i still need subs?
Hear it without it and if you feel that you need more bass then get an in-home trial with the subwoofer.

a good subwoofer is equally superior for HT and music.
there is no such thing as a "slow" or "quick" woofer. there are only thoughtfully designed enclosures and speakers that compliment the enclosure. please stop using the terminology "fast" vs "slow" when what you REALLY mean is that the driver and enclosure are well matched for each other.

So Speedwoofer ir better for music only too than HT1003?
Short answer: No.
I've owned both the Speedwoofer and the HT1205. The HT1205 is much faster then the Speedwoofer and the HT1205 is better for music.
The Speedwoofer is a great all around sub though. Does good with music. It's multi-purpose.

Hey man! How do you feel about B&W ASW608 for music listening with no loud rocking-out?
Either way. Good luck. ✌️
@@amb3cog hey I know you 😁

💯% I'm currently debating between a BK and the speed woofer....the shipping cost from the US for the SW might be the determining factor.

Most audiophiles know who Rythmik is and the L12. It is not DSP controlled. It is not 13" cubed either.
@@JPWinters thanks for pointing out I wasn't 100% accurate off the top of my head. So … Better than 3000 micro?
Yes.
Excellent commercial.
2 MKiis on the way.

Do you have your subwoofer plugged into a separate electricity wall socket compared to the rest of your setup?
Buying a sub from one of the fancy speaker company (like KEF) is a bad idea. Sub is either best bought from a direct to consumer, subwoofer specialty company or a DIY sub using a proven design and parts. You would end up paying lot less for a much better sub.
