I watched this video this morning while I was getting ready to go to church and something you said in it made me think :-) I don't know what your spiritual belief system is but I'm a christian and you said about how you love to find stuff that no one else wants ( junk in other words ) and work on them and to make them beautifull And I thought ah! That's what JESUS did with me my life was in such a mess and he found me when no one else wanted me and has continued to Work lovely and patiently to make me BEAUTIFULL ,well that's how I saw it this morning :-)
My mom does a lot of decoupage on cans, wooden jewelry boxes and I tried doing once but after gluing the napkins I started putting some glue over it (still glue wet) and it begun to tear apart and I said, " no way, this is not for me." I had really small shelves for my kitchen delivered yesterday and wanted them to be vintage or shabby chic style mixed with decoupage and after going through many videos I came across with yours and this is exactly what I want and the great idea of using the plastic instead of a paint brush like I used to is marvelous, fantastic! I loved this great idea. Thank you so much. Pleasant day.
+Lilian Marroquin I'm so happy to help Lillian. I used to hate to decoupage with napkins for just that reason, always tearing, bunching or wrinkling. I used only wrapping paper. There were so many beautiful napkins out there though, i was determined to find a way. :) Thank you! Patti
The decoupage scissors can also be bought at a garden store (Home Depot, etc). Those are the the same scissors used to clip flowers or in between delicate stems😊
I'm so glad I found this video! I've have my mom's little old sewing table for several years. Recently, she told me that it had also belonged to my grandmother and HER mother! So now, I've simply GOT TO refinish it! It's no beauty, pretty beat up, not valuable (except to my heritage), has about 20 layers of paint...so, decoupage is the way to go.
Loved it! So great to see someone take an old piece of furniture & make it look better than it ever did!! You made ie look easy to great step by step video
the art that flows from your aging hands has left me in a state of Awe of how one can create such beauties with simple ideas...i look at the nature and think of the God and I look at your work and wonder if the God holds and guide your hands to create such masterpieces that reminds one of peace.
I was just about to decopatch a big wooden coffee table and solid hand made pine TV cabinet . Too good to get rid of. This has helped greatly i can start with dark grey chalk pain save me sanding. Thank you for your lovely videos. X
I have a friend who is now 81 years old. She would love the flowers. I did enjoy the technique and will use it for projects perhaps with sea shell napkins.
awww, thank you! I have a Facebook page called upcycle with decoupage, if you want you can always post pictures of your work on there. It's open to everyone and a lot of people who watch my video's, put pictures on there. Have fun! Patti
Thank you Janet! I love hearing this type of feedback too. I also watch youtube video's and even after watching some of my oldest video's I hear myself saying, "We don't need to watch you paint-what's next?" LOL. I hope you give this a try, it's a very satisfying project. Patti
I absolutely love this!! I'm a complete newbie, I've never done anything like this. I have a nest of tables and a sideboard I want to upcycle. Now I have a week off work I can get on it! 😊
+Gemma Elliott Thank you! I'm so excited for you! I love decoupaging furniture, if I had room I would have it all over the place...Let me know how it turns out, you'll have so much fun! Patti
Love, love, love your tutorials! For future ones, could you maybe not speed them up so fast? Nobody has requested that yet, but I am because I actually get a little "sea sick" trying to get a better idea of what you're doing. Besides, it's enjoyable to watch artists create. :) Thank you, again.
Your idea is so awesome and has saved me lots of money buying decals and many hours trying to learn how to paint shabby chic roses for my projects. Thank you so much. Deborah
+Deborah Weidman Thank you Deborah, that's one of the reasons I love decoupage, I was having trouble trying to learn how to paint those roses by hand. :) Patti
Oh my goodness I think I found what I can do with the side tables I bought! I wasn’t sure what I was going to do, but I think this is it! They are in my bedroom and since I am single I can do whatever I want to in my room and it is going to look like a garden LOL pink everywhere! I cannot wait to do this! lindalou totz Hi Lindalou and welcome! Thank you so much for your compliments! I have a page on Facebook called Upcycle with Decoupage if you would like to post pictures of your tables, I would love to see them. I get inspiration from you too! Patti
You sure can use regular scissors. The smaller scissors just make it a lot easier to get into small spots. You just have to be a bit more careful with the large scissors. They are called decoupage scissors in the craft store. 🌞
Hi Hargwayne, thank you! In the beginning of the video when I show the Liquitex Matt Varnish, that's what I used as the top coat. :) Thanks for stopping by! Patti

I'm new to decoupage and find your videos some of this most helpful I've watched. They of loads of info without a load of waffle. Most are more waffle than info lol 😜 xxx
BEAUTIFUL just BEAUTIFUL😁😁 I watch other people try to do furniture, but they use UGLY prints/fabrics etc. YOU chose well, and the finished product looks amazing. Now I'm inspired.
Really enjoyed your project here in England, can't wait to get down to the charity shop and look for something to decoupage, so beware you ladies and don't stand still for to long or it maybe you . thanks for sharing with me.Dee.X
+Delia Kendall LOL! You are so much like me, and I'm always being accused of decoupaging anything that sits still for too long-even, accidentally of course, my pets. (they like to take naps near me while I work) I have a Facebook page called Upcycle with Decoupage if you would like to share pix of your work, I would love to see it. Have fun and thank you so much! Hi Sue, thank you! I am going to Good Will next week to look for a wooden sled. I decoupaged one years ago but I used copies of all of my favorite Christmas cards. I like it but I want to do something far more shabby this time! I have a Facebook page called Upcycle with Decoupage. I always love Friday mornings ,Waking up ready to see this weeks project,This is absolutely beautiful Patti and i love the napkins you used on this table .This is a wonderful addition for your home Hugs your friend Jennifer xx
Hi Jennifer! You are actually a big inspiration to me! You post such amazing work on my face book page I'm always hoping that people know it's your work and not mine. You do a lot with furniture and you have a real talent for design! I was excited to find the old table, I loved the curved legs and I didn't even want to change the handle (hardware) on the drawer. Thanks Jennifer! I love hearing from you! Patti
Thank you for your very kind words,You learned me everything i know about decoupaging so maybe we bounce off each other ,and im so glad i found you and that we are friends and an inspiration to each other xx
Hi Patti. This table is absolutely sweet! And I have been decoupaging like crazy!! And I STILL have a lot of napkins from the dollar tree. (And luckily...so does the dollar tree. I figured they would be gone immediately so I bought a truckload. lol ) Anyhoo, I found night stands on half price day at a thrift store and bought them both for a whopping 5 bucks each. YAY They both have those easy slide drawers which make them extra nice. So I prepped them and painted them antique white and did a little decoupaging on them and found some glass knobs and I must say, they turned out really nice!! And I decorated with pink peony napkins so they are a lot like yours and I am so happy!! I am so glad I found your channel. I am HOOKED!! Thanks again for inspiring me. (*~*)
Jill! Are you on Facebook? I would love to see what you made! If you go to Upcycle with Decoupage on Facebook you can post pictures of your work. They sound lovely and isn't decoupage the most addicting thing ever??? I woke up this morning and starting working on a few things and my husband had to laugh. "Hon, you didn't even have breakfast yet-slow down." So true, I wake up thinking of things to decoupage. Do you have a store called Tuesday Morning around you? I found one near my house, I didn't know it was here, and I couldn't believe the beautiful napkins they had. They were also about half the price, I also bought a truck load, they were too pretty! I hope you are on Facebook, I get inspired seeing work that others do and I would love to see yours! Thank you.. Patti
patioelf Hi Patti, Yes I still have a fb page. I have some pics of the bottles I've done but not the nightstands, and unfortunately my camera...yes I have an 'old fashioned' camera..is broken so right now I can't take pics. But I have some pics of the bottles on my laptop I will post when I can. I will also be happy to see what else is posted there at Upcycle with Decoupage to see other people's work. And I've heard of Tuesday Morning but we don't have one in Portland, OR. But I always keep my eyes peeled for pretty napkins wherever I go! lol Thanks again. I will post those within the week. Not sure if I even remember how to do facebook! lol Talk to you later. And once again, thanks so much for the inspiration. I wake up and can't wait to get started, too! (*~*)
I love this project and thanks so much for helping us! I've never used chalk paint yet, but I have an ugly set of black chest of drawers I'd love to paint, so when better weather comes in, I'll be trying this. Your work is amazing and I watch all your videos and have learned so much xx
+Suzanne Leonard aww, thank you so much Suzanne. I am excited for you. When you see what chalk paint can do and decoupage, you'll want to redo so many things in your home! Patti
Thrifty Chic Home I'm happy you found my video (and channel! ) since we use napkins here all the time. I hope you give it a try, it's really satisfying to save an unwanted piece of furniture. :) Patti
I wish I would find such a lovely table to turn it into a beauty... This turned out so adorable :))) Thanks a lot for all your great tips. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2023
+Yasmin Rahman Hello Yasmin and thank you...have fun doing this. It's a very rewarding project and I'm sure your daughter will love it. (and your sewing room) Patti
Thank you Cheryl, I do try to keep the instructions concise and I want to make sure the music is pleasing. :) This is good feedback for me so thank you again! Patti
i accociate those prints with my chilhood. the sweet careless memories.their floor length curtains. summer evenings i would hide myself for hours in the heat through the window. gotta make this soon :)
Thank you Frances. By the way, every year, I put the Charlie Brown CD in my boom box outside as I put as many tiny white lights as I can around our property. :) I wish I was allowed to use it my videos... :) Patti
You so inspired me to try this because your is so beautiful. I tried this with napkins, it was so thin and fragile that when the decoupage glue was applied gently the napkin seemed to almost disintegrate. I ended up sanding the paper off. Thank you for this video.
This is gorgeous. I want to do a table and this was a good demo. Glad I found ur channel. Good demo & instructions on decoupage. Thank you for sharing.
Very nice I have an old table now I will transform that table into something beautiful. Thanks because I was going to place it in the garbage. Blessings
OMG!! this is right up my alley!! I have a dresser that I've been holding and got it second hand and was wondering how to beautify it. Thanks for the great idea. Maybe when I'm done I'll send you a picture and I hope you like it!! The one in the picture is my husband!!
+KevAndCheryl Acton I would love to see the picture Cheryl. I'm on Facebook / Upcycle with Decoupage and you can certainly post pictures there! I do that same thing all the time with pieces, they sit in the garage for ages, until I finally know what I want to do! Patti
Thank you, it will take a while for me to do it but I will. In the mean time I used napkins with music partiture and I covered a jar for a musician friend of mine. My first one but she loved it!!!
aww, that's sweet! I know how it is too, I have several projects that I want to do but there's only so much time to do all of these projects! :) I'll be here when you have finished it-I'd still love to see it. :) Patti

+Lilian Marroquin I'm so happy to help Lillian. I used to hate to decoupage with napkins for just that reason, always tearing, bunching or wrinkling. I used only wrapping paper. There were so many beautiful napkins out there though, i was determined to find a way. :) Thank you!

The decoupage scissors can also be bought at a garden store (Home Depot, etc). Those are the the same scissors used to clip flowers or in between delicate stems😊

the art that flows from your aging hands has left me in a state of Awe of how one can create such beauties with simple ideas...i look at the nature and think of the God and I look at your work and wonder if the God holds and guide your hands to create such masterpieces that reminds one of peace.
How very patronising to suggest that her hands are ageing. If you'd left that word out, it would have been a lovely compliment.
I think it's a beautiful compliment.

(and welcome from across the Pond!)
Patti

Hi Sue,
thank you! I am going to Good Will next week to look for a wooden sled. I decoupaged one years ago but I used copies of all of my favorite Christmas cards. I like it but I want to do something far more shabby this time! I have a Facebook page called Upcycle with Decoupage. If you are on Facebook you can post pictures of your work or just look at everyone else's work! There are so many ideas from others on my page,,.it's really inspiring.
have fun!
Patti
My pleasure Jennifer! I'm so happy we met! (on line anyway-LOL)
Patti
Amazing! I love this!
Hi Patti. This table is absolutely sweet! And I have been decoupaging like crazy!! And I STILL have a lot of napkins from the dollar tree. (And luckily...so does the dollar tree. I figured they would be gone immediately so I bought a truckload. lol )
Anyhoo, I found night stands on half price day at a thrift store and bought them both for a whopping 5 bucks each.
Patti

That music reminds me of the music on Charlie Brown cartoons. That table is gorgeous! I love roses!
Thank you Frances. By the way, every year, I put the Charlie Brown CD in my boom box outside as I put as many tiny white lights as I can around our property. :) I wish I was allowed to use it my videos... :)
Patti
I’m new to this craft and I absolutely love your work
Beautiful transformation. U r a a very clear instructor 🎯
You so inspired me to try this because your is so beautiful. I tried this with napkins, it was so thin and fragile that when the decoupage glue was applied gently the napkin seemed to almost disintegrate. I ended up sanding the paper off. Thank you for this video.
Hi Nancy, Have a look at this video and see if it helps you... ruclips.net/video/S3iTvtsLt4I/видео.html

OMG!! this is right up my alley!!
