I watched this video this morning while I was getting ready to go to church and something you said in it made me think :-) I don't know what your spiritual belief system is but I'm a christian and you said about how you love to find stuff that no one else wants ( junk in other words ) and work on them and to make them beautifull
And I thought ah! That's what JESUS did with me my life was in such a mess and he found me when no one else wanted me and has continued to
Work lovely and patiently to make me BEAUTIFULL ,well that's how I saw it this morning :-)

My mom does a lot of decoupage on cans, wooden jewelry boxes and I tried doing once but after gluing the napkins I started putting some glue over it (still glue wet) and it begun to tear apart and I said, " no way, this is not for me." I had really small shelves for my kitchen delivered yesterday and wanted them to be vintage or shabby chic style mixed with decoupage and after going through many videos I came across with yours and this is exactly what I want and the great idea of using the plastic instead of a paint brush like I used to is marvelous, fantastic! I loved this great idea. Thank you so much. Pleasant day.

+Lilian Marroquin I'm so happy to help Lillian. I used to hate to decoupage with napkins for just that reason, always tearing, bunching or wrinkling. I used only wrapping paper. There were so many beautiful napkins out there though, i was determined to find a way. :) Thank you!

The decoupage scissors can also be bought at a garden store (Home Depot, etc). Those are the the same scissors used to clip flowers or in between delicate stems😊

I'm so glad I found this video! I've have my mom's little old sewing table for several years. Recently, she told me that it had also belonged to my grandmother and HER mother! So now, I've simply GOT TO refinish it! It's no beauty, pretty beat up, not valuable (except to my heritage), has about 20 layers of paint...so, decoupage is the way to go.

the art that flows from your aging hands has left me in a state of Awe of how one can create such beauties with simple ideas...i look at the nature and think of the God and I look at your work and wonder if the God holds and guide your hands to create such masterpieces that reminds one of peace.

thank you! I am going to Good Will next week to look for a wooden sled. I decoupaged one years ago but I used copies of all of my favorite Christmas cards. I like it but I want to do something far more shabby this time! I have a Facebook page called Upcycle with Decoupage. If you are on Facebook you can post pictures of your work or just look at everyone else's work! There are so many ideas from others on my page,,.it's really inspiring.
      have fun!

      Hi Jennifer!
You are actually a big inspiration to me! You post such amazing work on my face book page I'm always hoping that people know it's your work and not mine. You do a lot with furniture and you have a real talent for design! I was excited to find the old table, I loved the curved legs and I didn't even want to change the handle (hardware) on the drawer. Thanks Jennifer! I love hearing from you!

Hi Patti. This table is absolutely sweet! And I have been decoupaging like crazy!! And I STILL have a lot of napkins from the dollar tree. (And luckily...so does the dollar tree. I figured they would be gone immediately so I bought a truckload. lol )
Anyhoo, I found night stands on half price day at a thrift store and bought them both for a whopping 5 bucks each. YAY They both have those easy slide drawers which make them extra nice. So I prepped them and painted them antique white and did a little decoupaging on them and found some glass knobs and I must say, they turned out really nice!! And I decorated with pink peony napkins so they are a lot like yours and I am so happy!! I am so glad I found your channel. I am HOOKED!!
Thanks again for inspiring me. (*~*)

Jill! Are you on Facebook? I would love to see what you made! If you go to Upcycle with Decoupage on Facebook you can post pictures of your work. They sound lovely and isn't decoupage the most addicting thing ever??? I woke up this morning and starting working on a few things and my husband had to laugh. "Hon, you didn't even have breakfast yet-slow down." So true, I wake up thinking of things to decoupage. Do you have a store called Tuesday Morning around you? I found one near my house, I didn't know it was here, and I couldn't believe the beautiful napkins they had. They were also about half the price, I also bought a truck load, they were too pretty! I hope you are on Facebook, I get inspired seeing work that others do and I would love to see yours!
      Thank you..
      Patti

patioelf Hi Patti, Yes I still have a fb page. I have some pics of the bottles I've done but not the nightstands, and unfortunately my camera...yes I have an 'old fashioned' camera..is broken so right now I can't take pics. But I have some pics of the bottles on my laptop I will post when I can. I will also be happy to see what else is posted there at Upcycle with Decoupage to see other people's work. And I've heard of Tuesday Morning but we don't have one in Portland, OR. But I always keep my eyes peeled for pretty napkins wherever I go! lol Thanks again. I will post those within the week. Not sure if I even remember how to do facebook! lol Talk to you later. And once again, thanks so much for the inspiration. I wake up and can't wait to get started, too! (*~*)

You so inspired me to try this because your is so beautiful. I tried this with napkins, it was so thin and fragile that when the decoupage glue was applied gently the napkin seemed to almost disintegrate. I ended up sanding the paper off. Thank you for this video.
