I just sent my Amazon pwk back. I couldn’t get the brass drain tube that sticks up in the bowl to not rub and hold my floats shut. Pump wouldn’t even prime. Seeing if it was a defect, next one comes in Saturday.
I think i found the part i need to make the cable angled for seat clearance. It's a 90 degree tube that is threaded on one side and a slip fit in the other. I left a comment on one of your other videos asking what that part is called. If you didnt kake these videos i would be extremely lost trying to find all these parts. Thank you!
I just read the rest of the comments and evidently I don't need the clocking top thing. I had no idea. I've been an hour or two trying to hunt this thing down. Brain damage I swear! Lol.
I personally stay away from the PWK on a GY6, a CVK jetted perfect will perform really well. I feel like the belt drive is the downfall, when you go wide open the CVT shifts slowly and you are giving too much fuel and the rpm isn’t catching up in time with the PWK. I love these carbs on Chinese dirt bikes though without the cvt, maybe I’m just setting mine up wrong I see tons of people run them on scooters
Ya I tuned my stock 24mm CVK and got 1mph increase and quicker 0-30 and 1/8th. I really like the CVK for reliability and ease of use. I wonder if a 26mm CVK would be just as good as the PWK up top with the better CVK feel down low.
@@GhettoWrenchwhat brand of cvk carb do you recommend for reliability? Mine last about a year with proper cleaning, I do buy the cheap ones on eBay though 🫠
Wuuuuttttttt!!!! Guess same for 150cc. Guess I’d still need the clocking flange and intake manifold. Like maybe the RW adjustable clock flange and throttle cable.
You don't need a clocking flange. Just that manifold. I bought that RW clocking flange for my 1st 28mm install and didn't need it. RW gave me a refund.
Nice. I actually found the carb but had $10 shipping. Yours on Amazon was 29$ so the $23 vs $29 isn’t too big deal considering it’s no wait with prime!
Hey man great video! I was curious what throttle cable you used for this. The ice bear has a different style going into the throttle than most cables I'm finding that has the pwk style carb on the other. I've had a hard time finding the right one. I hoped for one that had a curved end that went into the carb so I could avoid the adapter but I'd take one that works with it if I had to just as long as it fits into my throttle.
@tiredofinsanity this one worked good for my PWK www.ebay.com/itm/183903417628?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=uTUlYyRcQqC&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=7oPuCdAPRY6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Thank you! It seems like the threaded end on that wouldn't fit into the stock throttle as it is actually held on with a clip and no threads but I'm hoping it will still fit then. Appreciate ya man. Keep those videos coming!
@tiredofinsanity I can't remember, but the stock throttle may actually be threaded. I know I usually do not even replace the rubber insert and little holder tab. But can't remember if that is just the NCY throttles.
@GhettoWrench Thank you! I looked for a video with the stock bike but didn't find it. I'll go check again. I really appreciate all the things you do for people. I ordered the white maddog from the Cajun Maddog people. It's been 9 days and nothing has shipped yet. Did it take several weeks to get yours? Also curious, do you think these bikes can pull a small trailer, 400 - 500lbs rolling weight, no tongue weight.
@ZCRAIZED1 they have horrible communication. Both times mine just showed up. Thankfully I was home. One took 5 days and the other took 2 weeks. So who knows. I would think they could tow a trailer.
@@GhettoWrench He emailed back quickly but it just said: all my bikes are sitting and waiting for the shipping company to pick them up. That was it. Lol. Originally he said 12 days. It's 9 days after ordering and it hasn't left wherever it's coming from.
@ZCRAIZED1 yep. LOL. That's him. He is a communicator. It will just show up. He even said he would get me tracking info and he didn't then 2 days later it showed up.
@ghettowrench Is this the bike with the bbk? Just wondering if i should use a 28mm on a stock maddog, 150 of course. Probably not getting any major engine eork for a while other than CVT things and bolt on things.
This modification isn't for top speed, just proper throttle response and making sure I have the right carburetor for future engine modifications. Low and mid range are more important on this bike.
@ZCRAIZED1 no the red bike is still a 150. I have a video of a PWK 28mm on the black bike with stock 150 and stock cam. Worked great. 3mph increase I think.
With the pwk carbs I noticed that if you twist the throttle quick it sucks so much air in and stall for a second have you noticed that if so how do you fix that
That is your needle jet. It should rip. Try adjusting needle clip position up and down. Easy to chance so just move it and see if it gets better or worse
Have you had any issues with the idle screw coming loose on a ride? I took it out for a shakedown and the idle screw and spring ended up coming out. Luckily they were still on the top of the motor.
I did not think so until now. LoL. I idle my bikes real low for cool points.... anyway I keep having to turn the idle up cause it continuously starts dying on me. I could not figure out why, but makes sense if that thing is rattling out. I wonder if a heavier spring would fix it?
I always start all the way lean. I think it was a 100 main and 1 clip down from center on the needle and I always just leave the pilot jet in there it came with.
@gullahgeechee2699 I don't even remember. But I used one too rich and then ran the air mix screw in more. The "Florida" sea level thing is not that great as we very high humidity and Temps. Humidity kills 02 ratio faster than altitude. That is why people are surprised at how small of a jet I run when at sea level.
@@GhettoWrench my guess is that it just wasn’t tight. It literally just came in the mail. I could see the bowl leaking maybe. Does your friend’s carb leak?

Were both carbs made out of metal? I bought one that has a see through bowl before I read the reviews, someone’s leaked and caught on fire.
