Corporations just use you up, suck the marrow from your bones and grab the next chump. As consumers we need to get back to the small close knit communities co-opts. think about it, would you give your money to the man who says good morning as you both head off to work or to someone who will never shake your hand? Lots of suggestions which are common sense (for me, anyway).
    1. If someone contacts you with investment advice, first you ask how they got your information.
    2. A successful fund manager doesn't need to cold call random people.
    3. You can buy stocks easily yourself, all it takes is 2-3 days to have an account funded and ready, no need for suspicious middlemen.

As someone who was also scammed by a close friend and others (to the
tune of a much much much smaller amount of money than yours) I can
totally understand your feelings. And I must say, you are a kind of
inspiration to me, as you remained so calm and poised during all of
this. You were logical, and emotional, but NOT crazy and violent. I
never once heard you yell or get visibly upset. As I said, you remained
calm. I admire that quality very very much as I do not have it. I got
hugely upset at my situation, and I tried to chase after the money as
well, but even here in the USA, I was told that I would have to go to
the state of the residing offender (very far from my state by the way) in order to sue them to get my money back. It seems, that the law claims to be on our side, but quite often
instead, appears to be on the side of (or at least complacent towards)
the criminals. I too felt a deep loss and distrust in people. I have
never fully gotten over it, however, but my life too, has moved on. I try NOT to
think too deeply about it, because if I do, then I just end up getting
really upset and ultimately depressed about it... but if it makes you
feel somehow better, I just want you to know that watching your video
fully, I totally respected you, as you kept your cool and stayed
emotionally strong and calm. I guess, your video for me, taught me more
about how to handle life's evilness, more than anything else....
watching this video, you became a kind of role model for me. Thank you
for sharing this video and your story. I am deeply sorry for your loss
in finances and in faith towards humankind... but I totally understand. Please try
to remember that not all human are evil like that. (By the way, I
noticed in your emails from the criminals... that often they did not
capitalize the "I" or "kind regards". That to me says they were
uneducated English speakers to some degree, or not truly native

Speaking of HSBC in IRELAND: They have an office headquarters in Dublin ("corporate centre") and walking in, huge building, many floors -- nobody could help me at all. I needed to deposit money to my own account, could not do it from Ghana. Was unable being IN THE OFFICES. No banking hall. F--- you, was the message I got. Politely, of course. Unbelievable. I was not even an HSBC customer by intention or will. My bank account was sold by Oxford Branch of Midland Bank to HSBC -- without my prior knowledge let alone consent. HSBC was a nightmare from that point onward.

If they phone again I ask them their name and I say I will complain for their inaceptable attitude, and they dont bother you ever again. Keith, everything in life happens for a reason, it is very unfortunate you lost all that dough but this video proves a few things,
    1) You have incredible talent in film production and you a great presenter. For a one man band film crew, is so professionally in every way.
    2) You might have lost all that cash, but at least you have a great misses that supports you. You are a very lucky man to have that!
    3) Although you did not catch the guy, but some of the tactics and ways you conduct through your investigation show you are a very clever person.
    4) You have balls of steel. Most people put in your situation would not dare to go as far as you did.
    5) You have great ability controlling your emotion. When you were getting screw around but HSBC, most people will lose their cool. Although you are making a doco', it is hard for someone to hide their frustrations being in your situation even being in front of a camera.
Keith, don't take it too hard, scams like this can happen to the best of us. When someone falls, is not about how hard they hit the ground, is about how fast they can get back up and I reckon for your Keith, it takes no time! Good Luck mate!

The money he'd been scammed out of would surely return and he'd have some closure considering it nothing but an investment in the stage of preliminay research. I'm listening to this while working, and hell, I could enjoy it if the story was stretched into a 7-8 hour audiobook! Excellent video production. I hope youtube at least makes it worth your effort. The moral of this story is don't believe a salesmans or brokerage firms records and recommendations. Also don't put all your eggs in one basket. This advice is coming from someone who has actually gathered eggs. In the U.S. the securities and exchange commission is the first place to go. Still if they are sneaky enough they can still get by. That's how Bernie Madoff did it. He kept all the i's dotted and t's crossed until the scam broke down. It's like fractional reserve scamming almost like the bank system.

I see it's been a while since you made this video but I'm amazed by your doggedness to find justice. And your story, even so sad, had me chuckling throughout with its good, dry humour. It contains a lesson for anyone: never send your money to someone who cold calls you and whom you've never met in person at a company you[ve never heard of or don't research thoroughly to confirm its veracity ... there are so many scammers in the world and we really shouldn't send even a nickel to a total stranger. take care Keith!
