Immortals are just gods really, with their great range, 300 total health, good armor and really good damage, they shred through most of the competition without a problem. They kill pretty much any ground unit that goes against them, armored or unarmored. (Except things like Vanguards but that's not exactly a fair comparison.) @@TheMuffinman191 Immortals on equal supply only win iof there are a LOT of Immortals because most zerglings cannot attack. Wow! That last one tricked me! When I saw all the Void Rays die and were only BCs vs carriers, I didn't have hope for the carriers. But I'll be damn! They won!
Here’s an idea. You know the real scale mod, where the Sc2 units are given lore-accurate sizes and abilities? How about doing the same, but with those units.
Those tanks did an IMPRESSIVE job blowing up the baneling army. I think they lost half to two thirds of their forces before making contact. With a 4-1 resource advantage on top of surviving the attack. Mental note, dont attack 50 siege tanks in siege mode with banelings. :p
Especially if they are siege breakers (130 damage vs everything main attack, not just 100-ish vs armored, and if they have the armory upgrade +40 damage vs main target.. rip)
Every single ground matchup against sieged up tanks, the other one just gets sent straight to the void. Siege tanks are just monstrous and siege breakers even more so. They can do like 170 damage in WOL with upgrades and maelstrom rounds!
In these more recent battles the tanks always get to start in their ideal position, already in siege mode with enemy a-moving into range. Battle would have gone very differently if the banelings got their ideal starting position.
Might I suggest a triple match up? How about an old school terran vs protos match up of Marines, firebats, and medics vs Zealots, Dragoons, and High Templar like SC1. Alternatively, one of those vs Zergling, Hydra, Muta?
100 immortals are crazy setup, if they were 50 it would be honest against 50 Thors. The last battle is also crazy. New patch broke carriers targeting and battlecruisers should be at least 30 to oppose them. In a previous patch battlecruisers destroyed interceptors totally and won. In this patch battlecruisers doesn't destroy interceptors.
Tya made interceptors invincible until their host carrier died in these videos since way before the patch presumably since they didn't want fights that ended with interceptors dying and 2 minutes of defenseless carriers being beaten to death. It's crazy how it's now basically accurate to how the game actually works though since even though interceptors are technically still killable them being untargetable makes that difficult.
@@SaulGoodman3D2049 Yup, but I suppose that carriers are too strong now. SC1 cruisers have 25+6 damage to target and destroy heavy plating targets (formula is damage minus armor). Nowadays cruisers have 5+3 damage which is converted to 3 in case of carriers. So after the latest patch cruisers became weakest against carriers.
@@SaulGoodman3D2049 the interceptors are also invulnerable so they don't die to splash/aoe either. Also if interceptors were targetable, carriers would hard win some matchups, because they'd be busy trying to kill 40/40 interceptors while the carriers sit behind at full hp constantly pumping out new (it's how i deal with enemies usually, when playing as karax p2 in coop)
@@dimitarlinov2393 Unless you mean ladder interceptors getting a patch I wasn't aware of, I did mention that Tya video interceptors are invincible until their host carrier dies. Targetable interceptors would indeed make carriers basically unbeatable in some matchups, such as against tempests, but also make them vulnerable where they otherwise wouldn't. Such as against splash (mass liberator) or against significant enough DPS to outpace the interceptor build time (hydras, or BCs as OP pointed out, or large enough number of marines). Which is probably the main reason why Tya made units prioritize the host carriers over interceptors in these videos, to prevent carriers from basically dominating or getting stomped every single time.
Fight 1: considering they are charging at siege breaker (which one shot baneling), they are still pretty good. Only 3 tanks manage to survive, the MVP with 15 hp, so fight can go either way. 1st Immortal battle: with that wall, Thor should have an upper cannon. Result: wtf. 2nd Immortal battle: Immortal strong but 450 roaches + stalkers are too much. Result: wtf.
In don't know if their damage output is better or worse. However, originally they had hardened shield, which reduced all incoming non spell damage to like 10 or something. Needless to say, this was absurd versus thors and other immortals and even banelings. Versus Mariens and zealots and the like, it was useless. Now they have barrier. Barrier is an ability which grants them 100 shields and 100 HP for i think 3 seconds. It ks extremely powerful, however the short duration means if timed poorly, such as just after a seige tank shot, it is likely to absorb very little to no damage for the immortal.
20 out of 25 carriers got hit by EMP, carriers are just tanky enough against BCs that most of them were able to recharge shields, and the ghosts were long dead at that point.
