This channel exists to document unit counters within StarCraft 2. Tya's Unit Tournament features epic battles between units in StarCraft 2, using music from the game's soundtrack. Units are chosen from Protoss, Terran and Zerg forces, or a coop commander such as Raynor, Nova, Artanis, or Kerrigan. Units will independently use their abilities, in a basic way. All units use Legacy of the Void stats, the same units you'd see in SC2 esports controlled by the likes of Serral, Maru, and ByuN. The resource beneath vespene is the unit's cost in the mod I run on the SC2 arcade, Direct Strike. Enjoy!
I would love to see the addition of supply count to the stats of each side.
And total damage done by each side
I’ve been thinking this is a good idea, too!
There's no real way to add *total damage* I think
Pretty sure that's what the third stat is.

That's not it, no.
Even though I forgot again, I remember reading in the comments of one of these videos a while ago what the third number is supposed to be. I do know that it isn't supply.
That Baneling vs Immotal battle was the most EPIC battle I've seen on this channel!!!
'Aiur shall be reclaimed!'
'Aiur will be reclaimed!'
*Artanis facepalming at his executor's decision to throw 900 adepts at some spiky boys*
"This vessel was not designed for social interaction!"
...it's like the game knows me. :3
Man, the capital ships are so tiny compared to the Real Scale mods.
Immortals wiping the floor with their enemies will never get old!
Last fight really showing why you never build Tempest unless you actually know how to use revelation and kiting
But… they are so cool :o
That adept win was very cost effective
By the numbers, girls?
Well, she did say "at any cost"
The Firstborn DID indeed persevere
The Immortals after seeing all their friends die: THE BATTLE IS OURS!
Nice putting the BCs in front of the Vikings so their jump actually does something, I like when units use smart formations like that
Adepts shading backwards only to then walk slowly back to the lurkers and eat more dmg on the way just hurts.
Imagine Lurker started the fight burrowed.
@@Cyberium To be fair, if the adepts were smart they would shade on top of the lurkers from all sides instead of all coming in from the same angle and then the adepts would've absolutely destroyed the lurkers (well, destroyed in the sense of easily winning the fight, it probably still wouldn't have been cost efficient but it would've won with way fewer casualties anyway).
If the tempests didn't start focus firing near the end I feel like that one would have been different, definitely overkill there.
*Ghosts & Marines vs Zerglings*
"Let me place bet on Terrans..."
*Mutalisks appear last minute*
"CHANGE BET! CHANGE BET!"
“This vessel was not designed for social interaction!” Me neither, man. Me neither.
I would love to see Alarak’s ascendants! If people think his Vanguards are good, wait until they see these
The 50 lurkers vs 900 adepts is a great visualization of why it's a bad idea to go ground units vs lurkers. Well, non-disruptor ground units vs lurkers. You'd think protoss would stop trying that even at lower levels but nope.
I didn't expect the Golden Armada lose against those weak Terran battle ships.
Guess they learned their lesson about the wraith's low damage potential during brood war
Aiur will be reclaim at any cost
880 sounds about right
4/4, and I even guessed the adepts right! "around 20"
Surprised the vikings took as much of a beating as they did, but in the end, tempest dps is just too slow.
2/4 Banelings did so much damage, but not enough. Tempests were just not targeting that weak Viking at the end and it made a huge difference.
The Marines were at a disadvantage due to the DPS of the lings.
Marines had single target while the Lings were surrounding.
Archons spawn.
Me: OTHER TEAM WINS!
Never doubt the Immortals. It was close though. The rolling grapes of terror are still terrifying. Also, critical mass Battlecruisers usually tip the scales for air battles. They tank too much damage and have too much burst power with Yamato cannon. That being said, Vikings sure suck when you don't micro them. I'd say one of the weakest air units if you just a-move them. Lastly, I was quite surprised by the Ling Muta pinching out the win. I really thought the Marine Ghost would decimate that fight :O
In the case of tempest vs Vikings, tempests are just really shit when fighting non-massive units
Yeah vikings maybe suck when you don't micro, but tempest suck even more XD
I think a way to implement blinking that would raise less criticism could be to have the unit blink back if attacked by an enemy that has less range, and forward if targetting an enemy that has more range.
Do more co-op units with full upgrades. Swann's wraith with a macro for using its ability, more of Tychus squad, sovereign battlecruisers, Mirages, legionnaires or sentinels, vultures and science vessels.
4/4 thought the third battle was pretty close one and soo many adepts against soo little lurkers

4/0 - but not gonna lie - near the end I thought that Immortals will be owned :D
And it looks like in the last fight Tempest could win with better micro - Each tempest attacked different Viking.
And Lurkers still have moral victory IMO.
You need to let lurkers burrow before the fight like you do with siege tanks instead of making them waddle up to the enemy and get assblasted. Other than that I love these videos.
The adepts only won because they were too many
shouldn't the adepts shade forwards and surround the enemy?
I'm curious how the match would've gone if the banelings went in front of the ultralisks.
even better for the protoss, archons counter banelings and are mediocre at best against ultras.
Chadmortals shat all over those ultras
I guess Adepts could survive way more if they surround lurks from the very beginning on the safe distance
3/4. The second fight was a bit unfair, but I still believed in terrans
"How many Adepts can 50 Lurkers take out?"
Somewhere between 1 and 899, is my guess....
My tummy has the rumbly grumblies.
Has anyone researched how could it happed that out of 900 adepts one get 4 kills and same for single zergling against ghosts.
It’s not the first time i see here.
Especially looking at zergling case, to earn finishing blow zergling must be in first line. So how does it happen that one of them stays alive and earn 4 kills while others die left and right?
I had a guess may be it is something about attack order. All alive zerglings attack about same time, but if they kill surrounded target, kill all always goes to specific one.
4 out of 4 lets go🥳
No amount of Adepts can take out lurkers because Adepts don't have Detection.
2/4, little sad
My predictions:
- Lurkers (the aoe was my main justification)
- Mutaling (hey it's just like sc1 almost)
- Banelisks (was a hard call to bet against immortals but banelings tho)
- BC + Vikings (iirc the only times I've seen tempests they've disappointed)
Very interesting battles today! 3/4 Not enough lurkers
Maybe small battles with upgrade tweaks would be cool? Like one 3/3 marine vs three 0/0 zerglings etc
I wonder if the baneling fight would have ended different with them in front. Use them to melt a hole in the archons and make space for the ultralisks to mop up.
Feels like the result will be more or less the same, as Immortals melt Ultralisks. Might even be worse as the Banelings will take the first attacks and not the Ultras, so some may die before reaching optimal detonation placement.
Adepts would be so much better in these if they used their ability to go into the enemy instead of escaping, because if they used their ability to charge into the enemy they would get a lot more damage in, and if the enemy has enough DPS then using their ability to escape wont help very much.
what were those ghosts doing
3/4
Thought the ultras and banelings would win, but the immortals in the end held strong.
Please do 200 elite marines and 50 siege breakers vs 1000 zerglings
Focus firing. It seems to me that it helped the winners.
This just goes to show how dangerous lurkers can be without detection or if you use overwhelming numbers advantages
Imagine Lurkers started the fight burrowed.
Lurker itself it's a BUG, Unit with HP, Attack Speed and AOE damage effect with LONG RANGE
four out of four baybeeeeee
Each lurker had to take out at least 18 adepts to win
I wonder if it's possible to have 50 banshee fight 100 hydralisks(who are all coated in anti armor missle from a raven)
Wonder if that would make a difference to 50 banshee vs 100 normal hydras
How many Adepts can 50 Lurkers take out before Tya's computer catches fire?
Lurkers totally balanced.
Kinda want to see the asteric wraith
The absence of micro is almost painful in this one.
I was rooting for lurkers
Lurkers are just better Siege Tanks.
... Let the Zerg copium flow.
Only got the Archon Immortal right
1/4
Shows you how trash toss air is
50 lurkers cant take out 900 adepts but I'm sure both can take out my pc 🗿
3/4
Lurkers are crazy imbalanced
4/1
Airtoss is OP!!! Unless you have a much cheaper terran army then it's not.
No offense, but lings behind ultras was a bit strange choice of tactics. They could smash all archons and some part of immortals before ultras even take a fight.
first?
