This channel exists to document unit counters within StarCraft 2. Tya's Unit Tournament features epic battles between units in StarCraft 2, using music from the game's soundtrack. Units are chosen from Protoss, Terran and Zerg forces, or a coop commander such as Raynor, Nova, Artanis, or Kerrigan. Units will independently use their abilities, in a basic way. All units use Legacy of the Void stats, the same units you'd see in SC2 esports controlled by the likes of Serral, Maru, and ByuN. The resource beneath vespene is the unit's cost in the mod I run on the SC2 arcade, Direct Strike. Enjoy!

Soooooo... StetStats time.
All of Stetmann's Mecha Zerg have a special energy bar called 'Egonergy'. Egonergy doesn't regenerate by itself but fuels the units' special abilities.
Mecha Zerglings and Mecha Banelings have an energy shield that reduces incoming damage to a maximum of ten from every enemy attack. Additionally, Mecha Zerglings can consume their Egonergy to double their attack speed, while Mecha Banelings deal 1 additional point of damage to their targets for every point of Egonergy remaining when they detonate.
Mecha Ravagers are actually not independant units, instead they are spawned by Mecha Infestors and cost Egonergy. Their Corrosive Bile has a shorter cooldown than the regular Ravagers and they also attack more quickly and are smaller, giving them more damage density.
Mecha Ultralisks have a charge ability that knocks back and stuns enemy mechanical units for 2 seconds. Additionally, they have an ability that drains nearby mechanical units of life to restore their own hp, even targeting your own units and your ally's units.
Finally, Mecha Battlecarrierlords are a mix of Battlecruisers, Carriers, and Brood Lords. They have the basic attacks and appearance of Brood Lords, launching Mecha Broodlings to attack enemies, but also consume Egonergy to build and launch Mecha Locusceptors, mini flyers that swarm and attack ground units like Interceptors. Finally, they can use Stetmato Cannon, an ability that deals 300 damage to a single target at the cost of 100 Egonergy.
The reason these units seem kinda weak here is that they normally also are supported by Stetmann's Stettlite buffs, buffs that grant Hp regen, Egonergy regen, or a speed boost, and they are also usually accompanied by Gary, Stetmann's super powerful hero unit.
See I wasnt thinking they were weak, I was looking at the cost of each and seeing the mecha army was generally cheaper and yet still trading on a near equal standing with the other units. The egonergy is the only thing that might keep them from winning a war of attrition.
@@chrishubbard64 yeah probably. The Zerglings ran out of Egonergy vs the Immortals, so their attack speed buff was no longer active.
It seemed like their HP regen buff was on by default. Lings were healing up very quickly as the immortals hit them. Wondering if it was manually changed during the battle?
Another interesting point about the Mecha swarm here is once they run out of Egonergy they become 25% weaker than their original counterparts
Actually idk about this mod but in coop Mecha zerglings don't consume egonergy for the attack speed buff
They just get straight up double damage per attack instead

Are those P0 Mecha Swarm or P3 Mecha Swarm (temporary Best Oil boost whenever they kill)? It was hard to tell.

@@hungcuong606 Oil is not dropped in P3, they are gained automatically. Also, P3 units cost 40% more minerals than P0, and you can't have P3 Mecha Ravagers due to lack of Infestor.

Mecha Battlecarrier Lord v.s. Hydra was a shocker, I thought they should be able to handle Hydras with three types of attacks at once (No Yamato at the start is odd also).
Mecha-Bane v.s. Stalker was a pleasant surprise though.

I don't care that the stalkers lost that first fight but those blinks were so pretty to look at haha, jump and blink such a funny interaction
I guess Stetmann's unit aren't that good without Gary and the stetelites to support them.
they're still very cost efficient in this video if you compare the mineral/gas prices to the results. I look forward to seeing Gary's rampages in future videos
They had the effects of the healing aura active if you watch the health bars
@@ham_the_spam4423 Basically every co-op unit is cost efficient compared to normal units. The co-op units are very strong.

Hmmm, Stet's units are still good, but there's a very noticeable difference when they aren't supported by stetellites or Gary.

3/5 Lings do solid damage to immortals but there weren’t quite enough. Also bet on the mecha brood lords, but just barely out-DPS’d by hydras.
They didn't have adrenal. Regular lings with 3/3 adrenal would've done fine.
Lings don't do well against armored units. Very low base damage.

I prestiged Stetmann 3 times and it's a pain to said that his Ultra and MBL are kinda suck considering it' time and cost vs other commander (Kerrigan/Dehaka).

The mecha zerg are from coop
Egon Stetmann is a co-op commander who, in co-op lore, is the creator of the Mecha Swarm. After the events of the WoL campaign, Stetmann was abandoned on Bel'Shir where exposure to terrazine had made him slightly unhinged. After having his terrazine mining operation saved (co-op mission Mist Opportunities), Stetmann built up the Mecha Swarm to protect their home. Heading the Mecha Swarm is Gary, Stetmann's prized harvesting bot.
The Mecha Swarm largely builds on the knowledge of zerg biology and protoss technology held by Stetmann to produce a fighting force capable of taking the fight to Amon. Technologies such as stetellites resemble protoss power fields, and many of the activated abilities of the Mecha Swarm are influenced by abilities of terran or protoss units.

Mecha Zerglings are sometimes better without Adrenal, since their energy is better spent on the hardened shell.
Mecha Zerglings might attack fast, but they do terrible damage per hit compared to the Raptors and Swarmlings due to their lack of armor-shred.
Adrenaline glands also drain egonergy, so they have way less dps overtime.

And zerglings need attack speed upgrade (also need egonergy regeneration)
4/5. Didn't expect mecha zerglings to be so bad
they took like 10 hits before dying compared to the 2 or 3 hits I expected, the Immortals won through having a much higher budget
They have a hardened shield effect, where they at most take 10 hp at 10 egoenergy cost, so they lost 10 hp instead of 23 per hit, and while the raptorlings and swarmlings might have done a bit better, because of armor shred, these are still pretty strong.
They would have won if they didn’t have the adrenal upgrade i think. The adrenal drains energy for each attack and opened up a lot of them to the immortal damage.
@@TheMuffinman191 it’s hard to tell how it would turn out, tbh, because the adrenal upgrade also significantly boosts their DPS.
@@xuanqinglong Fair, though i think the lings surviving in larger numbers might be more beneficial for dps. 2 lings without is better than 1 with adrenal.

Stetlings are and always will be pretty much useless. They're way too costly for their lack of upgrades (especially no armor shred), their DPS amp also eats their defensive benefit, and they still die to AOE like any other ling. Kerrigan's deluxe raptorlings or Mengsk's budget ladder lings are the better option. If you need a tarpit you're looking for Karax.
Zagara's cracklings are pretty great too, especially when she uses her mass frenzy.

The Mecha Mooch Module upgrade for the Mecha Ultralisk allows Mecha Ultralisks to steal 25HP from a nearby mechanical unit (friendly or enemy), for a small egonergy cost. So Mecha Ultralisks can zap their enemies to heal or they can zap each other (and in this case, burn their energy for nothing).

@@dimitarlinov2393 50% of his game plan are his satellites. No ability energy or health regeneration without them makes those units very unimpressive.

Mecha Zerg are annoying to fight against because I still haven't memorized what each of them can do.
Managed to predict everything except the Thors vs Mecha Ultralisk. Poor positioning sadly led to a loss for the latter.
Zerglings - hardened shield effect that costs 10 egoenergy per hit to reduce damage taken to 10. Also has higher attack speed at an energy cost per.
Banelings - uses egoenergy as a hp bar before health, jumps, when it detonates, uses the remaining egoenergy as bonus damage.
Hydra - has a 2nd anti-air weapon that fires effectively goliath missiles, can be made stronger at an energy cost per attack.
Lurker - huge aoe damage over time on a target, also can move to a point dealing damage on the way to things it passes through.
Infestor - can summon a bunch of roaches + mini ravagers, also can target a unit, restoring hp and egoenergy over time - restores more than the cost, so 2 can infinitely give each other energy and then spawn more stuff.
Corruptor - can launch multiple anti-light missiles in aoe, kinda like the old battlecruiser ability. Also can do damage over time on a ground target.
Battle Carrierlord - as the name suggests, it is a mix of the 3 capital units - shoots mecha broolings, can fire a yamato, and has special interceptors that sadly only attack ground.
Ultralisk - takes reduced damage, can lifedrain from nearby mech units, including other mecha ultras, effectively healing from draining each other.

That's an actual unit available to Stetman, in Co-Op mode. It has characteristics of all the capital ships, hence the ridiculous name!

Mecha zerglings should do 5 damage to a immortals shield per hit. That's obviously not the case in the video. From 0:40 the second southernmost immortal loses its barrier. At 0:44 its shields is depleted. It should have been hit for 20 times in between that. It was hit for more than 40 times instead.
Battlecarrier lords for some reason didn't use the yamato thingy from start. Would've easily won that with maybe 3~5 alive if they did.
This is like one of those staged MMA fights with pre planned turnarounds. Not as fun as it could be. It's been a while but every other video has some of these bullshit, I think I'm done with these VS videos.
stetmann seems fun to play but he's just so annoying 😬
