some of the closest fights i've ever seen on the channel, the roach vs baneling, adept vs viking, marauder vs archon and zealot vs ultralisk could easily go the other way if it was run again
That's why I like vanguards so much. They are proper anti ground short-medium range artillery. Almost a like a protoss version of their MLRS Although slow rate of fire, but made up with ridiculously high power per shot that scales extremely well with upgrades.
I loved using Vanguards in my Brutal playthrough of LotV. Paired with havocs they have a juicy 8 range which is perfect for them to sit behind your lines and just shell the enemy. It made Brutal substantially easier, including for some of the defense missions. Those Ultra/Zergling spams eat photon cannons like tissue paper. A handful of Vanguards with Havoc range boosts absolutely murders them before they have the time to do any damage.
@@Saph638 I do energizers with them on certain missions, that attack speed is nice. The Havocs are mainly so they can sit behind even photon cannons and just bombard down whole waves from safety, so they are more defensive. Energizers I use on stages where I have to constantly be on the attack.
i got 3/7 right, thought the archons would've won, thought the zealots would've won, thought the infested terran would've won, and thought the banelings would've won pretty much all but the first fight were pretty close X D if the zealots targeted the weaker ultralisk they would've won. i love coming home after work and watching these it brings massive joy :) thank you for making these
6/7 I literally guessed most of them Judging by how many ultralisks there are, Vanguards will win Zealots are tanky but I chose ultralisks because ultralisks lost last round I chose mauraders and I didn't even know who was going to win Thors. Vikings are good against ground but I didn't think adepts were that tanky, still won tho "Battlecruisers... Oh wait those aren't marines... Still won tho" Baneli- aw man banes lost
Ultras have a huge advantage vs zealots. Very high armor vs a unit that swings twice per attack cycle (so takes double impact from armor.) Plus the zealots are small and clump, and ultras cleave.
You know what's funny about the second fight? In the expanded universe stuff, a rookie Zealot, Khastiana, managed to 1v1 an Ultralisk without backup; and in the novel, Queen of Blades, four Zealots end up butchering an Ultralisk without too much difficulty. In a lore fight, those Zealots 100% got this. Zerg in the lore are numberless, but Protoss in the lore are utter monsters in a fight.
Given how huge ultras are in the trailers (look how huge they are in Heart of the Swarm), they'd honestly have a lot of trouble handling infantry if they can't just run over them. Ultras would be going after tanks, thors, and various mechanized siege units... a bit like the Tyranid carnifex they're obviously inspired by. It's not too hard to see a zealot pulling a Shadow of the Colossus and climbing all over the ultralisk and finding a way to shove their blades into a vulnerable location, particularly since we know that the protoss were the result of the xel'naga achieving physical perfection in a client race, and the zealot armor enhances their strength and speed even further.
@@dc8836 that's basically how it goes. Zealots are absolutely insane physically, and their leaping power is just something else. They can easily use an Ultralisk's leg as a foothold to leap onto its back, and then they just stab the head, because psi-blades do not give a shit about armour in-lore.
En una novela explican que el poder de los zerg son sus números y cuando eran una novedad era difícil eliminarlos. Después si no tienen un estratega o que dicho estratega sea como sagara. Con alto poder de fuego pueden des destrozados
Some fights were so close that repeating them will probably net different results next time. Even slight position differences would change the outcome. In these cases, guessing is meaningless.
with how close the Viking vs adept fight was, the adepts definitely would have won if they didn't have a couple of them bug out their pathing at the start and just run around not attacking
This isn't like the lurkers derping around not burrowing when there are enemies in range, the vikings had 2 more range than they did on the ground, which meant the adepts in the back couldn't reach them until the units in front of them died.
Holy moly these are some incredibly balanced fights! Especially Viking vs Adept. If it weren't for the 3 Adepts tap dancing in the back row and not firing, the match would have gone the other way. Same with Roach vs Baneling and Marauder vs Archon: sooo close. This is the best video yet....and my FIRST 100%!! Woot :D
5/7 Not surprised by that one. Vanguards are nutty. Lmao this feels like your way of showing us that Ultras are still stronk as hell despite losing to the Vanguards. Oh dayum, CLOSE, but I thought Archons would take it. Oh yeah, Thors got this in the bag. That's quite the numbers advantage, but the ghost DPS will drop quickly. Holy shit, ALSO close, down to the wire, but I figured the Vikings faster fire rate and heavier armor would win out. I just thought it'd be by a wider margin. Yeah, BC's. IT's have great anti-air, but that's just not enough of them. ...... Was this intended to end as a draw? This feels like you meant for it to end as a draw, and I voted as such.
5/7 The ultras were slightly too much and so were the BC's, in hindsight on the BC ones I should've looked at the numbers more carefully, thought there were 30 rines.
4/7, not a very good score compared to the comments. Thors usually don’t win fights against land, but they somehow did so this time. I thought 500 Ultralisks was a lot, but I guess vanguards have too much firepower. Banelings only lost probably because of space in the end. If the excess banelings had split off to blow up on the other roaches earlier, they would’ve drawed.
5/7 some of these were super close. too many vanguards for ultras to get a surround, pretty easy guess on that one. i thought the ultras were gonna shred the zealots a little better than they did, but they still ended up winning. guessed archons for the third one, and they lost by one attack. super close. the thors took more losses than i thought they would, but still came out on top so pog. took the right road again with the vikings, but it came down to the wire as well. was pretty confident with the bcs, but i knew they would take a lot of damage from the infested terrans. never bet against baneli- oh.
i don't like Vanguards much since they lack quite a lot of stability for a crusade-like army that i am used to. But in Co-op, i get to coordinate my macros with Alarak players. And oh boy they are so destructive. Immortal shield + spread-out Vanguards and Wrathwalkers, Aiur Zealots at the flanks with Alarak and his Destroyers leading the charge. My laptop always gets a heat stroke
5/7, my best so far, though that was mostly guessing and some were insanely close. I didn't think bcs would kill terrans so quickly, and that last baneling couldn't secure a tie :(
Zerg players after seeing the first round: Ultras suck man! Blizzard please! Zerg players after seeing the second round: Man Ultras are so strong sometimes!

Always drives me nuts in these videos that the AI can do perfectly timed stalker blinks, but can't get a proper surround.

That marauder who made a triple archon kill was hired in hammer securities

Crazy how Vanguard's does their job so efficiently
500 Ultralisks are terrifying.
What's more terrifying is how fast they all got mulched! Those vanguards treated them like god damn lings!

Wow I got most of these right but that Archon VS Marauder one was tough, just 1 more shot would have made the difference 😮
I never heard the Vanguard Saying that before at the end.. that was awesome 🛸
After a week or so of mostly stomps, these were all nail-biters!
Wow 7/7
But calm down vanguards you're in danger of looking OP

Only one I didn't get was ultra vs zealot.
Meanwhile campaign Vanguards would’ve hit twice as hard.
is there a version of the infested marine that shoots air with its gauss rifle instead of with rockets? if so, when was the rocket version introduced?
Some point in LOTV. The rockets have been nerfed a few times, they used to do ridiculous damage
@@Drizzle52693 thank you for the knowledge
Infested terrans have actually been removed from PVP, Infestors now have a new version of the defiler’s shroud.
Probably a Mini Rocket Launcher attached to the Gauss Rifle
1. Vanguards 5. UT 3. Mars 4. Thors 5. Viks 6. BC 7. Roaches
