Unlike the X95, the Tavor 7 has an adjustable gas block. And it's in .308. And you can get a 20" barrel kit for it (or leave it with the 16"). And you can lock the charging handle back by tilting it up slightly to do a bullpup HK slap. What I'm trying to get at here is do a video on the Tavor 7.
IWI really needs to update the X95 with the benefits of the 7. One of the biggest being able to swap the left hand eject without needs additional parts. Only real downside to the 7 is that it’s unreliable with harder primers.
Do you have one?? I've got some questions if you do- having some serious trouble getting to zero with multiple optics on my 7. Always seeming to drift to the right, no matter what optic I throw on or how I adjust the mounting system.
@@WKidd1776 I haven't had that issue with mine, since multiple optics are doing it my only guess is there's something weird on going on with the rail on the gun itself. It is removable, so maybe the screws just aren't fully tightened or something? I'd get in touch with IWI and see if they can figure it out.
I think the thing that people often don't appreciate about the Tavor - it was designed by IWI for use by the IDF. Full stop. So the engineers designed the rifle with very specific use scenarios and didn't care that in all these other scenarios it wouldn't be as ideal. In the West we tend to build our weapons as versatile as possible, with the maximum ability to modify uses; but the Tavors are the opposite. It is intended to be used by frontline IDF troops, entirely manufactured in Israel (as a result of previous Western arms embargos). I love my X95 and use it for a ton of things, but if I am carrying for a situation it isn't ideal I switch back over to something else that is. The Tavor is a work truck - meant for the job site, so don't expect leather and a heated seat.
People in the service, if they run with the M4, they will never exchange it to this gun... The joke is that the mtavor did not have automatic fire. SOF which Mtar are in service, I think there is automatic fire there
arthur Koestler advances the thesis that Ashkenazi Jews are not descended from the historical Israelites of antiquity, but from Khazars, a Turkic people originating in and populating an empire north of and between the Black Sea and Caspian Sea.
After serving 18 years in the french army, using the Famas all this time, I'll say this: the same things that you say about bullpup system ,we are saying about the AR platform, we began using for a couple of years the HK416....learning all over again the manual of arms....front heavy, weird way to change the mag, the mag ejection button actuated by the kit etc etc....😁 so basically, it's just a question of habit ,training and adaptation to what you have to use as a given platform
I don't know why this video popped into my algorithm, but I'll leave a comment. I served 3 years with this rifle in a special ops unit (and still do in reserves) in the IDF and I've been trained by one of the first officers to receive this rifle and basically formed the fighting methodology with this rifle for the IDF. First of all, you're using it mostly right so that's good. But the major thing to understand with this rifle is that it was designed for the IDF infantry and how the ground forces operate in combat. There are several versions of the service Tavor( the x95 is the micro Tavor- the older brother is the Tavor), with a longer barrel for sharpshooters and grenade launchers. Yes, it is less accurate, but I've seen very long and great shots with this one. The IDF mostly fights in urban areas rather than open areas, so its more efficient to have a shorter rifle that is less accurate but is very reliable (and it is, it shoots even when its full of mud) that can "catch corners" easier and is very easy to use. And let's not forget, it's cheaper to make these than to buy M4s from the US.
One thing that is interesting, I'm guessing it's mostly because of politics but the tavor is going to not be used in the army anymore. (as in new soldiers won't be training on them. Obviously anyone who used one will still use it and even during reserves but the army is going to stop using it and move everyone to M4s)
@@juanramirez7108 I don’t imagine that most IDF soldiers issued that rifle get the Geissele trigger on their rifle designed for CQB. If that was the case then it would be the standard trigger sold with the rifle from the factory that way.

I understand that at 600yards the accuracy of the Tabor may be less than a modern AR15 but we have to accept the fact that it was made primarily as a CQB.
@@shroey20 that depends, if you have that kind of range that you can shoot 600 or even more all the time, you can do it with the right AR quite nicely.
The thing about 400 to 600 accuracy, is if you can do it from prone or standing. I can his at 450 yards with great accuracy even in windy conditions...but I need a stable platform and using a sandbag on my stock. A well balanced weapon I can make consistent hits with irons to 300 yards...so what weapon is really more accurate for combat situation?
I’ve got the X95 in 300BLK and love it. The 300BLK variant has a 2-position adjustable gas key but works fine with my deadair sandman s without adjustment. Be prepared to spend $1k to make it right. I’ve upgraded some factory parts with Manticore Arms parts. Upgraded the actual trigger with the Geissele Lightning Bow and that was a major improvement. Saving up for the Geissele trigger pack.
@Langley D, I bought the OSS suppressor (Hxwrx) for my 300 BLK variant and I also bought the Manticore gasket for the left side's ejector port and the Geissele trigger and FCG and WOW, best bull pup on earth with these mods, IMHO. You won't be disappointed with Geissele's FCG once you install it
Sure seems to be working pretty well. I’ve talked to Israelis who have been using it not just in the ongoing new war but the last couple years and they are all extremely impressed with the weapon and not just for CQB.
Would love to see an update on the MDR in this style, maybe the 308 this time around. I feel like putting all the common bullpups against each other with all of you competing would help out a lot of people on the fence about these.

former idf sniper here. regarding the sling ! i want you to try it. we place one side on the stock and the other above the mag trough the hole right below the picatinny rail. this causes the gun to fall smooth next to your leg instead of across your waist. since the tavor is shorter you can have it fully vertical without torching the ground. it makes more sense once you gear up it feels better not abstracting your mags and being on your side like a pistol
Love my x95, essentially a bullpup AK that takes stanag mags. Just started running a VG and it changed the whole feel, running the trusty aimpoint pro it's been absolutely bombproof for 3000 rounds.
The level of suppressed affection that exists between these guys warms my heart. I like the drills better than the intros. Please keep including them in the videos.

I never noticed too much wrecking of parts with a Sandman S but you are spot on with the MOA expectations. I'll add that parts are INCREDIBLY hard to come by, the 9mm kits are canceled, 300blk kits are hard to find and the trigger components from Geissele are expensive for what they are. Still miss mine and I'll probably buy another some day
Yes, I’m using a sandman k on the original Tavor and haven’t seen any issues. I know spare parts is an issue but I have other firearms if I really get screwed with a broken part, and spare parts to work on that other firearm.
@@timunderbakke8756 well that's because the sandman K has almost no suppression. You're running a glorified blast diverter. I too have one and I hate myself for buying one

i wish they'd bring back the 9mm kits. and im super lucky to have gotten mine in .300 blk, the things been tuned to high hell by its previous owner. its also more manticore arms than it is stock at this point
For short people like me (5'0"), bullpups are great. My arm from armpit to wrist is only 19 inches long. Shooting an AR-15 is difficult even with a front grip because my arms are extended to their maximum, and I can't quite keep her steady. I bought a Tavor SAR instead. With the weight to the back of the weapon at my shoulder and the shorter overall length, I can hold it more steady and fire more rapidly with greater accuracy. For all those gun guys married to short wpmen, a bullpup might be the way to turn her into a gun gal! Seriously, I am more inclined to ask for a range day since acquiring my Tavor.
From my own testing, removing that little barrel ring depends on how much stuff you have on the polymer handguard rails. If you keep it slick, it doesn't make any noticeable difference. But if you have chonky lights hanging off it or use a vertical grip, you absolutely should remove it. It doesn't "improve" accuracy so much as it preserves accuracy against other factors. Also highly recommend the ShootingSight high energy recoil spring to help mitigate the overgassing and resulting recoil, and it does not impair reliability unsuppressed. If you're willing to shell out hundreds of dollars to replace a perfectly serviceable trigger, consider dropping 30 bucks on a spring first.

An interesting review, from the point of view of a civilian purchaser. This rifle was designed for the military and even the IDF didn't outfit all its units with it, to this day. The M4 and variations play a huge role, the reserve soldiers are mostly equipped with M16s of various shapes and forms, the reality is more complicated.
Completely agree with mine. It feels so darn close to perfect. Adjustable gas block, a little lighter, free float barrel and something to protect the mag release a little would make this a contender when competing against even the best ARs.
I have an X95 .300 Blackout, and it does have an adjustable gas block for switching to suppressed & subsonic ammo. I agree w/ some of the other issues stated though, but Manticore Arms is a solid one stop shop for fairly inexpensive corrections. I put on the aluminum M-Lok guard, which runs right up to the muzzle device and free floats the barrel. I replaced the charging handle & rod with one that folds flat, and the safety switch and indicator w/ two full fledged ambi-safety switches that are low profile. Oh, and I replaced the port cover with one that's made of milled aluminum with a heavy duty gasket - no more Tavor face. Next steps are to replace the trigger group & bow w. the Geissele Super Sabra Trigger pack, and the Lightning Bow Trigger, as well as getting a Dead Air can for it. Bidenomic's has slowed down those last two acquisitions... oh - and the fact I accidentally dropped the rifle in a lake. tragic accident. made me cry.
@@soul8bounce NO Deen, that would be the conclusion of someone using a reductive argument would come to. It's already a great rifle, it just get's better with a little additional work. See - I'm not going to be crawling through sand and mud with it in a combat situation, so I can make different choices than the IDF, because I understand that you don't want a light trigger on a combat rifle lest it be accidentally discharged more easily, that the light weight polymer handguard is a better choice for most, and a charging handle that doesn't fold is more rugged and less prone to breakage. I'm sorry - but your take.. well it lacks intelligence. while were here, let's discuss AR platform modding... no one does that right? cause every AR works perfectly for every person and use case right out of the box? OH - and lets not forget the key point was - you can get an X95 thats made to be suppressed, his negatives were mostly built up around that, and it just came down to him having the wrong caliber. the .300 blackout version is the bees knees.
@@davidlane07 I believe that hes talking about internal damage because there is no adjustable gas block on the one he had, meaning he would still have to fire supersonic rounds, which combined with a suppressor would cause significant overpressure. an adjustable gas block would allow for the firing of subsonic ammunition, allowing you to tune how much gas is is being used to cycle the action.
@@davidlane07 When they say a rifle is "overgassed" when running a suppressor or that it will "wreck the rifle", what they mean is that when you fire the gun there is extra gas in the system which thus causes the bolt to slam back harder. This happens because the suppressor is trapping the gas and less gas is being expelled out of the front. The gas is instead running back through the gas system and/or the chamber and out of the back (called gas blowback). The 'slamming of the bolt back harder' increases wear and tear on the internals of the rifle. The silencer won't "destroy" the weapon per say... it'll just make it wear out faster. It also makes it dirty but that really doesn't hurt the weapon, as long as you clean and lube it after every use. A lot of people say you don't need to do that and that you only need to clean modern weapons every 1000 rounds. I say bullshit because the lube helps the internal metal on metal moving parts last longer.
Of all the firearms I have owned, selling the X95 and the SAR are two of my biggest regrets. Been looking at reacquiring an X95 ever since, but yet again, I am constantly financially defeated by rent. Very well done video, you've been a top-tier firearms channel here and continue to rise above. Excellent work, keep it up!
It's meant to be used in every invierment, includind sand reach ones. That's why it's so "gassy". Also, in israel we rarely use supressers, especialy in the military.
You can setup the Lightning Bow trigger to have zero take-up and make it a single stage trigger if you want. Due to the nature of being a bullpup you'll still get some very slight creep, but you'd never notice. It's definitely the best bang for your buck mod available for the X95.
I have both the Giessele lightning link and trigger pack, it is the best trigger I have in any of my bullpups and almost as good of a trigger as my Higher end AR rifles
My X95 is also Geissele'd out and it is so great it makes me wonder if it's reliable. Seems to be so far. It's in that "too good to be true but seems to be true" zone
I've been running an X95 since early 2017. I love it & it's my primary. It's actually not bad if you are going for speed because of the recoil impulse and rear weight. I haven't really thought about sealing the left port cover. I might look into that.
I ordered the Gear Head Works Fulcrum from Optics Planet last month, it was in stock when I clicked the button, of course goes to backorder once my order is submitted. It's supposed to be coming in February. I've read a few times that it works well.
@@clamum9648 I put one on my SAR21 and it does work very well. It also gave me an additional QD point for sling placement. I am getting 1.5 MOA with quality ammo. With the 77 grn. Sierra Matchking bullet hand loads, I am getting .75 MOA to 1.25 MOA with my rifle. It is a SAR21 with the 18" bbl. I installed the Geissele trigger, with the stock trigger linkage. It made a huge difference. This trigger has a nice, crisp break and it brought the trigger pull weight down from ~ 12 lbs. to 4 lbs. measured on a Lyman trigger pull gauge. I have made no other changes to this rifle. I've been told that the 18" barrels were designed to be more accurate, for use as a DMR by the IDF before they switched to the X95. @@roadapple66 Nice! Sounds good. I admittedly haven't shot mine in a while but I thought it was getting less than 2 MOA, at the worst. Never used the A1 (thank God - too young to have joined at that time). That was terrible and the A1's reputation is what has stuck with the L85 to the present day. A2 is/was much more reliable and has been used in armed conflicts and won plenty of engagements. It's a battle proven rifle. The issue is that from 2000 onwards, better rifles were available and could have been procured, which is why we could never understand why the L85 was held onto (bean counters digging their heels in i guess). Still, the British Army and Royal Marines have been fighting and winning battles with it and the deployments speak for themselves. The only other rifles I would trust are the X95/Tavor, C8 or an M4. I say that because these rifles are used in conflict and have seen a lot of active use over the last twenty years plus also. They are all battle proven. I can't say that for much else out there. SLR's (FAL's) and G3's would fall into the battle proven category also. Never used the A3 but I've seen a lot of the blokes compliment it some over the A2. I think the service life of the L85 ends in 2025 anyway and the A3 was just done to extend it up to that point until something new is procured.
I used the -A1 back in the day. It had stoppages quite often especially blank firing. The -A2 really did fix the reliability issues. I'd love it if flannel daddy got to do a review on any of the L85s.
Getting any version of the British L-85 is not going to happen. Due to Federal anti-gun legislation. The Federal Firearms Act of 1984 stopped the importation of most firearms. Unless there is a specific amount of US made parts. This is how various Kalashnikov rifles are imported into the US. So if someone in the UK can make a contract with one of the US manufacturers to finish the assembly for sale in the American market there can be a tremendous benefit. Importation of certain firearms is just prohibited by US Federal law. This is why Sig, H&K, Beretta and FN have factories in the US. A new rifle in the American market is the Croatian VHS bullpup rifle. HS Produkt of Croatia and Springfield Armory of the USA made contractual agreements. HS Produkt makes the VHS rifle with some modifications and Springfield Armory make certain parts to make the rifle legal. This is a tremendous opportunity for HS Produkt in that there were $1.7 million in sales to the USA in 2022 alone. The VHS rifle was renamed the Hellion for the American market. So whoever makes the L-85/SA-80, may just want to get themselves an opportunity like HS Produkt has done.
@@discipleaj Similarly to you I never had a chance to use the A1 but got my hands on an L22 (the carbine variant derived from the L86) that were all built to the A2 standard and it was fantastically reliable. Never had a significant problem with it although as I was RN I dealt with a lot less sand than our lads that used them in the Middle East.
I recently acquired a Tavor 7 and it addressed some of the criticism you have with the X95. It has an adjustable gas block, comes with an ambidextrous fire selector, and the bolt release is no longer on the bottom near the mag well, but rather there's a notch on the charging handle where you lock the bolt and allows you to even give it a classic MP5 slap. I haven't shot it enough to determine gas yet nor have I tried long range, though I do know the system was purposely designed for urban combat which is one of the reasons why the Israelis moved to the Tavor from the M4. I find disassembly to be rather simple as well.
@Ron Stall is there one really? I've actually never noticed haha. As I said, this was a very recent purchase by me. Edit: I took it out and what do you know, there is a bolt catch and release. I thought that's just where the trigger mechanism resided, I didn't realize you could lock the bolt like that. Learn something new everyday
It’s a compromised system but one important aspect for some of us is that it is compliant with mass laws while remaining short overall, using ar mags, having a pistol grip (gauntlet), and being as close to an sbr style weapon system as is possible within the draconian state laws. It’s definitely quirky in some ways but I’ve grown quite fond of it over the years, heavy but well balanced, it runs reliably and it is a unique conversation piece at the range. If it weren’t for laws, I’d trade it and a not inconsiderable amount of money for a gq paladin carbon in 8.6 in a heartbeat.
It seems like not everybody was in the best mood at the start, but it was awesome to see the mood immediately cheer up when you started shooting. Y'all have great chemistry 😁
Love my Tavor X95. Been waiting for (3) years and counting to buy any common spare parts. You break your firing pin, loss a spring, etc. . You have to buy a new Tavor fir spare parts.
@@projecttwentytwentyfiveisgreat Yeah I looked up parts late last year because I wanted that thing that helps with gas blowback when putting a can on a Tavor. Like every Tavor part was sold out, including that part. But it only took me about 5 minutes to find a site that had it in stock, which was Optics Planet, except after submitting the order, they said it was on backorder, and pushed back a couple times, with now early February being the date it's expected LOL. You have any idea what's up with the lack of parts? I did get some extra parts like a year ago or whenever, before the shortage hit. Figured it was a good idea to have some spares.
I've owned the Tavor SAR21 for almost 10 years. Never bit on the x95, but also own a Tavor 7 now. The gassing on SAR21 and x95 are extremely valid points. Luckily, I have an OSS can. The Tavor7 addresses many of the issues, but it's in 308. The 45 degree throw is ball busting nice on the Tavor7. That itself makes me reach for it half of the time for the range. The SAR21's charging handle is angled so I could not mount a Dbal D2 on it by itself. I ended up using a Unity Riser to clear my charging handle. I also took a dremel to my SAR21 to mimic the HK lock back on the Tavor7. It works. It freaking works. A much needed improvement in the old design. I'm sure the same could be done to the x95. It makes malfunction clearing so much easier. As much of a die hard fan I am of my bullpups, Daddy Garand hits all the points on the head. There is no free lunch and I'm surprised he did not complain about the overall weight of the gun vs AR15's. They fit in a lot of engineering upgrades into the Tavor7 but I hope they take it all and make the final, best bullpup on the market in 556. I was not a fan of the MDRX, honestly.
If you look at the old design sketches for the tavor prototype, they clearly had an HK-style lockback. I don't know why they dropped the feature for so long! I'm pretty sure that if I was willing to take a dremel to my X95's polymer body, it would work. (But I'm not)
@@jarvy251 the quality of life enhancement is...amazing. to each and their own with their rifle but I had a tavor7 sitting right next to it for reference.
Agreed on all points. I too, have had a Tavor SAR for 10 years and it was the first rifle I truly loved. The X95 never really seemed to catch me the way the SAR did. But the Tavor 7 - oh yes... that thing is incredible. It fixes basically everything he mentions as a problem with the X95 and has an even better trigger - to the point where Geissele hasn't bothered to make a trigger pack for the 7. Heavy, sure, but you only really notice that when you sling it. When you are shooting the weight is mostly in the back so you don't notice. (My AK feels more heavy and awkward than the 7 does despite being a lot lighter.) As much as I love the SAR, if I could get the features of the 7 in 556 I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I have been using an older IWI Tavor SAR for nearly 10 years. Lot's of abuse. Not the best, but after you get used to it, it's pretty good. Love it for getting in & out of vehicles. AR-15 is better for distance. I have a few videos on my channel with it. Never found the need to move to the X95. I use mine supressed, but cut the barrel & pinned/welded the muzzle device. Still legal length barrel & OAL, but it reduced the gas in the system enough so it isn't crazy. Still slightly over gassed, but not as bad as everyone knows.
I have a Tavor, not the X95 but the original version. I like it quite a bit, especially with the geissele trigger pack. My main complaint I would say it’s a bit of a heavy rifle compared to an AR, although it’s well balanced. Big height over bore too. Shoots well and is really smooth overall tho. Very reliable thru thousands of rounds. Suppressors are forbidden fruit in my free country tho so can’t speak from that perspective.
I have the same setup as you, but I’m sorry you can’t own suppressors. I’ve always said they are good for the environment, less flame, protect local wild life’s hearing and reduce particulates of lead in the air. Trudeau should legalize them
I'm Marine Corps retired, I've shot the Tavor X95, It's a superb battle rifle, that said, I'll never get used to Bullpup designs, swapping out mags is just awkward, when you've gotten used to the M4, or the M14

This is by far the best cinematography of any GunTuber channel. Better than 1911 Syndicate, T-Rex Arms, and the other "pretty good" camera-work channels.
I called IWI US support - While the gas escaping bothers some people (there is a video on this on IWI's RUclips Channel) running the X95 suppressed should not cause any accelerated wear on the weapon. If the gas bothers you when running suppressed or not, the video I mentioned has nice hack to address. Also, they do have GREAT support so if you ever do run in to an issue, just call them!
Bought an 18” X95, and fired it for the first time yesterday. Was surprised how well it shot. It is odd to handle compared to a typical rifle design. I do think it will replace my AR as my go-to rifle. All I’m going to change is the muzzle device, trigger pack and add some tape to the grip.

I feel like you’re critiquing one of my kids. My favorite kid. The X95 has its pros and cons just like any other platform. I knew going in that gas might be an issue which is why I have OSS cans that I can run on multiple platforms, not just the X95. The Flow 556k can was made for it! Great combo. Also drop a few bucks on the Manticore Arms ejection port seal and the gas problem becomes nonexistent. I also added the Manticore Optimus handguard which somehow improved the accuracy. I think because it adds more rigidity to the overall frame and essentially free floats the barrel. After thousands of rounds, I’ve never had a failure of any kind. If the SHTF, this would probably be the first rifle I’d grab. But that’s just me.
Same. Adjusted trigger bow w/ super sabra pack, manticore butt pad and Optimus forend, oss can, and IR designator, plus both iron sights still flip up due to my thought-out rail usage. It's my go-to truck / shtf / night fighter rifle.

Here in Canada, we don’t have access to the AR15 platform. However, we have clone firearms of the AR180 and we have the Tavor. For us, those are better options when no AR is available to the market.
I have to agree with your analysis on running these suppressed. I have 2 and have ran one suppressed and the other unsuppressed. The wear on the suppressed rifle was so significantly worse that I will no longer run these suppressed. Other than that I love the rifle and would recommend it.
That seems to be a complaint I hear with alot of soldiers over in Ukraine running suppressors. Cleaning and wear is becoming a significant problem for alot of guns, apparently even alot of the AK's are having issues because so many people are going over with their personal rig and suppressor but not cleaning it enough. LindyBeige has a fantastic interview with a British soldier who served in Ukraine up until recently and he talks about the issues involved with suppressors quite well.
What suppressor? I’ve only got one, and been running it with a sandman k. I haven’t personally noticed an issue. What/where should I be looking for issues?

Literally I’ve been obsessively researching and looking into buying one of these and debating exactly what I want to get and now this comes out. What timing. I should add that if you care about it the Tavor 7 in 308 has an adjustable gas system. I might go that route as I already have “enough” 5.56 rifles and don’t have any semi auto 308’s. Not sure yet
Great video and been waiting for the X95 from you. Living in the Burbs' this is my "GTH" rifle. For up close and personal to 300M the X95 is all I need. When installing my Geissele trigger pack and trigger bow I sealed the gas escape routs inside with Black high heat gasket sealer before I put it together. I had the barrel cut to 14.5 inches and pin and welded with a OSS Muzzle Break and added a OSS Free Flow can. Baffled cans are not recommended and there are other choices. Since, I never noticed any gas and this is the softest sweetest shooter. 2.25 MOA is the norm. For my Tavor it is more than adequate for defending anything around my domain. In my neighborhood the longest shot is well within 300M. Keep reaching out to IWI as I would like to see the T7 here as well as the new Carmel.
Dear Mr Garand Thumb, I am really enjoying the 3 people test hosts, gives better perspective on how the gun would perform on what seems to be a first time user.
Excellent review. My major complaint about the X95 and the SAR before it was the amount of gas you get hit with during shooting sessions. Gotta be honest. As a Jew, it makes me a little uncomfortable to have so much gas blown back into my face 😬🤫. But seriously, there has to be a way that they can mitigate the blowback AND offer an adjustable system. They put an adjustable system on the Tavor 7.
Garand Thumb: “We don’t care about the politics, we’re here to review the X95”. The comment section: We don’t care about your video, we’re here to argue about politics”.
No doubt someone caught this too but 2moa at 100yds would still be 2moa at 200yds. The minute of angle doesn’t change but the actual group size might. So 2in at 100yds would equate to 4in at 200yds but the MOA would remain the same.
I had to replace my AR with one of these when they banned AR's in Canada a few years ago, and I really wasn't pleased with it at first. Once I practiced the manual of arms and got some good range time in, I've really come around. It's extremely pleasant and controllable to shoot, the handling is excellent. Since I can't run a suppressor in Canada the over gassing just gives me those sexy black streaks. My only complaints are with the mediocre accuracy after coming from a very accurate AR-15, and while it's easy to field strip...it's not easy to clean in the field. It's the only firearm I own where I need various special brushes to get in and clean the carbon fouling in the action properly.
What are you gonna do now that they banned Tavors too, buttercup? Communism sucks, especially AFTER you give up your guns. Might want to read some history books.
@Captain Flappinjacks I want to ignore you but I guess I really can't help myself. First, it's not banned yet and the proposed bill to do so is meeting enough resistance politically that it's unlikely to pass in its current form. If they DO ban it, there's nothing to stop me from burying it in the backyard. As for your meaningless rhetoric, you wouldn't recognize communism if it was in the middle of confiscating your 6 brain cells for the State. I do happen to have left leaning political sensibilities, but that doesn't mean I think the state and criminals should have a monopoly of the use of force. Not every firearm owner is a conservative and alienating your allies rarely benefits your cause. Maybe YOU should read a history book. I have one for every period starting with the Neolithic, I'm happy to loan you one.
@@jiggiwatt Well, you just admitted it yourself--you are a leftist. We are NOT allies. You having guns does NOTHING to protect my freedom when YOU are a communist. "Political sensibilities"... there is nothing sensible about leftism. IF you had read any REAL history books, rather than the propaganda you've probably been drip-fed your whole life in Canuckistan, you would know that communists and socialists are the greatest mass murderers in all of human history. Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Pol Pot, Castro, the list goes on and on. So as a leftist and communist sympathizer, you believe in the abolition of private property, the centralization of banks, the elimination of religion, replacing God with the State, the destruction of family as the basic unit of society, reeducation and forced labor camps, and genocide. That is sick; we are NOT allies. We are enemies. Conservatives believe in individual liberty and responsibility, and freely being able to worship God. We believe in law and order, and good morals. We believe in protecting unborn babies. We believe that govt should be formed as a REPUBLIC, not a DEMOCRACY, because democracies always devolve into dictatorships. But hey, you like leftism so much--DO NOT COMPLAIN WHEN YOU ARE DISARMED. Because that IS what you want. Communists do not allow their slaves to have guns, NOR ideas, as Stalin said. Good luck burying your rifle--not gonna do you any good if it's in the ground, which is where your own govt will put you soon after anyway, sadly. Yes, communist governments always kill the liberals first, as Yuri Bezmenov said. Now in spite of the fact that your comments were clearly meant to piss me off, I tell you that I actually take no pleasure in saying these things, and am sorry that your country has fallen to communism. But unfortunately, if you are a person who rejects God, believes in killing babies, LGBT "rights" etc., then your country will suffer that fate. Only if you turn and convert back to God can you expect any hope.
I have a tavor. It's genuinely awesome albeit a little tough to deep clean. If you get one and don't want to pay for a Geissele trigger pack, at least pick up the lightning trigger bow. It's a third of the price and makes the trigger so much better even though it's still heavy.
@@Logan_urbex you seen the cost on the geissele parts for the tavor? Far more expensive than AR's. I still like mine and took it on a night hunt last night.
@@Logan_urbex yeah, they’re one of the most expensive triggers u can buy from Geissele, if not the most expensive. 450 bucks, plus shipping and tax (so really more like 500 bucks), is a lot for a trigger.

Now that you have posted this comment, ad nauseam, many times over in each video, can we get back to discussing the damned rifles?
Love the channel. I'm stuck up here in Chinada and I picked up an x95 for a semi auto because it is non restricted and I can take it anywhere too train with where as anything remotely AR was limited to gun ranges and mandatory registration and now they are outright banned. this country sucks balls
Not banned yet. It is a bill that is still in progress and keeps getting delayed. I highly doubt it will pass because there is already very strong resistance even from local police stations.
As a former IDF paratrooper, I was always happy that I had an M4 and not a Tavor. The Tavor is a cool gun, but always felt impractical to me for anything aside from CC urban combat settings. The M4 felt much lighter as the weight is better distributed down the frame, and was also more comfortable to me personally as I’m tall and lanky. Regardless, this is a great review, thanks for sharing it!
After spending the past several years with my X95, I do like it, especially after adding the Geissele trigger pack and lightning bow trigger. I've used it in a variety of settings, including multi gun competitions in very hot and sandy environments and it's had very few malfunctions. Although I think it's a decent rifle, I don't think the cost justifies choosing it over other options. If I'd known then what I do now, I wouldn't have bought it.
I agree with your conclusion. I have over $2300 invested in my x95 to make its barrel almost free floating and super operating Geissele trigger pack with the lightning bow trigger, plus Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24. But that pencil barrel in my case 18.5 inches just flexes too much resulting in no better than 2 MOA with good ammo. The cost involved does not cover its accuracy. I am a gun collector so I will keep my x95 and hope that IWI will come up with a medium-profile barrel for it soon to improve the accuracy!
Same. I put the lightening bow and trigger pack in. Manticore Arms ejection port cover and charging handle. My only gripe now is that supposedly I'm ruining it by using a can on it. Something compact like a bullpup was meant for confined spaces where you would want a can. Oh well. Guess I'll see if she dies on me
I wanted it because it was different. As a first gun. I would always suggest a quality direct gas AR. Get to know it inside and out and train with it. Then venture into other rifles
I think an updated version with an adjustable gas system on this would be a game changer. Being able to run this thing suppressed long term would be very useful for certain agencies and branches. Having a fairly compact cq package like this that is able to be suppressed would be very diverse in the field. The safety is kind of a stupid decision on the style, but as long as it functions correctly and reliable, that’s a small gripe. Overall, I think it’s a pretty cool looking weapon. Out of my price range currently though so I’ll stick to my ar15/10 builds for the time. Maybe one day though.
I prefer the Tavor21 (you guys call them the SAR21 in the US). The podium bipod is great. It's not compatible with the X95. I also prefer the mag release on the Tavor21 to the AR15 style mag release on the X95. If your mag release rod gets mucked up, it will be a pain during mag releases. The charging handle rod on mine snapped in 2 after about 500 rounds. Replaced it with the much better quality Manticore Arms charging handle and rod.
I'd love to see something about the CZ Bren 2. How it stacks up against the older 805 and especially against a Scar, which people like to compare these guns to
I have an X95 and it's my favorite rifle I've ever shot. I have an AR-15 as well but I would choose the Tavor any day in a combat situation. Also, I have the 300 BLK model and it has an adjustable gas system.
I love my Tavor but I do not disagree with this review. I would not recommend it as a first rifle, it takes practice to get comfortable with it, and I do not run it suppressed. Thank you for sharing your review!
As a fan of compact things, who has never fired a rifle in my life, i think Bullpups are the best! i mean it just makes soo much sense to me, to have a full barrell in a compact system! instead of all that "wasted space" in the buttstock🤷♂
2 MOA at a hundred is also 2 MOA at a thousand yards. The real question about accuracy is this: Would an AR of equal length be as accurate as a bullpup?
Length doesn't really matter for accuracy, it gives you more velocity. The X95 is going to shoot flatter and give you better terminal effects at range than an AR of equal length. An equally PRICED AR will be more accurate, certainly. It's a balance of pros and cons.
Treat the trigger like it's a pistol trigger and it'll make sense. Don't forget everything about this weapon is for battle CQB. The trigger also has dual springs, in case something happens to one it's still usable
The changed the handguard on mine there is some nice options, and I personally run the thin butt plate, making my 18" x95 same length as my ar15 10.5". They sell some stuff to mitigate the gassyness to your face and seal everything up better.
I was in the IDF and had M4A1 and M16 tbh never heard too many complaints or problems from fellow friends about the Tavor, but never been too interested. I do know that the idf cares a lot about malfunctioning bc our training had a lot of scenarios and what to do with them.
Sold my x95 for a Tavor 7. Would be really interested to get thoughts on it. It solves a lot of the complaints you have with the x95, while introducing some new compromises, mainly a lower twist barrel. I personally love it, but I'm a bullpup fan because my potential use cases are closer in. Well inside the precision capabilities of the platform, and I have a medical condition with my shoulders making extended use of longer guns difficult to impossible. So I'm all about braced pistols, sbrs, bullpups, you name it. Short guns are my thing. Short of hunting, the use case for most civilians will be close quarters, since the legality of engaging someone who isn't a clear direct threat to you is variable by state, and even if you happened to see or hear someone attacking someone at range, most people wouldn't be comfortable taking a shot at extended range with bystanders. So short guns, even with their sacrifice in precision, are the most practical guns in my opinion.
You could have keep hunting in that mix. Unless your out west or hunting power lines, a lot of your shots are 100 yards and in. I personally hunt with my suppressed 10.5 inch 300 blk in the same configuration it stays in for home defense red dot and all. Put 3 deer the freezer last year 4 this year.
@@bluegrass4840 That’s fair. I don’t really hunt myself, so I have an amorphous idea of super precise shooting at ranges where I can see the target, but never pick out impacts even with shoot n sees! My vision sucks lol!
I'm hoping that IWI swaps the handguard and the grip on the Tavor 7. They still use the ones from the original TAR-21 design and I'm not a fan of those.
I used both the m4 and tavor during service.papa garand is on the money i wouldn't recommend it as your first rifle as it's specialized for the IDFS specific needs. The m4 is a better all-purpose rifle, no doubt, but the x95 runing blackout suppressed, of course, is a whole different beast.
Love my X95, even more than my AR. But just be sure to change out the trigger group! I used a TAV-D. Great trigger. This weapon is perfect for shorter shooters and moving in tight spaces.
@GovernmentOverreach very very very weird accuracy issues.... It never once jammed but yeah, it seemed after 3 mags I could not hit where I wanted on slow single shots. Again, it never jammed. I tried multiple optics and then I said fuck it and used the flip up irons on the gun and had the same issues. I took it apart and then put it back together using factory torque specs for the screws and what not AND HAD THE SAME ISSUES): I sold it because there was nothing wrong with it there is just an odd accuracy flaw in the design. It wasn't the height over bore or anything but it would just randomly sling rounds like 6in plus in any direction at 100 yards. Really high price tag to not have at least semi decent and consistent accuracy haha.
Big thanks from someone who served in the IDF, (I trained with and used a short M16 and M4- couldn’t imagine using this weapon) Lots of love from Jerusalem to all the civilian Kanye fanboys leaving lame comments. You should all be healthy.
I recently brought home my T7FD16. I really like it. I call her Sandy
@@Dylan-nv9sc The X95 in 300 BLK has an adjustable gas block. I'm sort of finding out now the 5.56 doesn't.

Thanks sincerely for posting that info, and much respect to you and for your service to Israel. :)

The production is getting so fucking good Mr. Thumb. Been here a long time and it’s amazing to see how for the content has come.

I'm still thinking about that dope wild west intro.

The M4 and variations play a huge role, the reserve soldiers are mostly equipped with M16s of various shapes and forms, the reality is more complicated.

When he says the gun will be wrecked if I run a silencer does that mean the silencer will destroy the weapon or just make it too dirty?

You can setup the Lightning Bow trigger to have zero take-up and make it a single stage trigger if you want. Due to the nature of being a bullpup you'll still get some very slight creep, but you'd never notice. It's definitely the best bang for your buck mod available for the X95.

I don't know how true that is but I know that I am getting good accuracy with my rifle.
Such a shame the L85 kept its bad reputation from the A1. I loved using the A2, apparently the A3 is even better but I was never issued one
Almost sounds like a famas at that point.
I love my Tavor 7, and yes it is well suited to urban combat.
@Ron Stall he didn’t say the mag release was on the bottom?
Yeah, I would like if iwi updated the X95 with the Tavor 7’s changes with the gas system and charging handle.
@Ron Stall
is there one really?

(My AK feels more heavy and awkward than the 7 does despite being a lot lighter.)

Also drop a few bucks on the Manticore Arms ejection port seal and the gas problem becomes nonexistent. I also added the Manticore Optimus handguard which somehow improved the accuracy. I think because it adds more rigidity to the overall frame and essentially free floats the barrel.

Cleaning the action is one of my biggest complaints too. I keep that special brush in the rifle's case along with the take down tool
What are you gonna do now that they banned Tavors too, buttercup? Communism sucks, especially AFTER you give up your guns. Might want to read some history books.
I found my accuracy was much better on average using 77gr ammo over the 55gr that I usually take to the range. The Tavor seems to like it heavy.
They’re not banned yet. Bill c21 hasn’t passed. Buy one regardless of what you think is coming. Better to have one than to not.
Not banned yet. It is a bill that is still in progress and keeps getting delayed. I highly doubt it will pass because there is already very strong resistance even from local police stations.
Don't comply.
Wtf is Chinada?
As a former IDF paratrooper, I was always happy that I had an M4 and not a Tavor. The Tavor is a cool gun, but always felt impractical to me for anything aside from CC urban combat settings. The M4 felt much lighter as the weight is better distributed down the frame, and was also more comfortable to me personally as I’m tall and lanky. Regardless, this is a great review, thanks for sharing it!

Fantastic
After spending the past several years with my X95, I do like it, especially after adding the Geissele trigger pack and lightning bow trigger. I've used it in a variety of settings, including multi gun competitions in very hot and sandy environments and it's had very few malfunctions.
Although I think it's a decent rifle, I don't think the cost justifies choosing it over other options. If I'd known then what I do now, I wouldn't have bought it.
Same conclusion here. Nice but not that nice.
Tavor 7 has adjustable gas system. Anyone looking for a compact .308 suppressor ready platform should consider it. You will not be disappointed.
I own a X95 and I absolutely love it.
That rifle is banned in 109 different countries.
I do "not-see" the connection... ;)

I agree

This epidsode is one of my favorites!!! Definitely getting a Tavor now.
"Go forth my gentile."
That depends. Do you mean the same barrel length or overall length? Is the AR in question good quality, or is it a cheap shit stick?
Glad to see you doing a review on this as it’s one of like 3.8 cool guns that won’t get you beheaded in Canada, yet. (C21 would change that)
Treat the trigger like it's a pistol trigger and it'll make sense. Don't forget everything about this weapon is for battle CQB. The trigger also has dual springs, in case something happens to one it's still usable
you and your team are a bunch of wholesome bastards and i love it. Keep being awesome guys.
Where in the idf

@@RustieFawn what do you mean?
This intro is something, it etched in the mind. Great Work!
With everything going on in Mexico right now, I’d like to see a review of the government’s FX-05 Xiuhcoatl, or “Fire Serpent,” rifle.
Thank you for the great review! Really dig the style of this weapon…As with most things in life this firearm has it’s quirks..
Happy Sunday, fellow Gentiles.

I follow garand thumb to expand my vocabulary 😅 the gun reviews and quirky intros are just an added bonus
Love my X95, even more than my AR. But just be sure to change out the trigger group! I used a TAV-D. Great trigger. This weapon is perfect for shorter shooters and moving in tight spaces.
But not extremely accurate. My AR is far more accurate then my Tavor at even 300 yards. The Tavor was designed by IWI as a close Quarters weapon.
"shorter shooters"
So that's why the 👃 chose it.
@@mickeymickey9914 I mean, most of the world is shorter than Americans on average so sure? Not really getting the point you’re trying to make
I had a lot of issues with mine): got it to leave the ARs. Led me right back to ARs haha. Awesome video, as always ❤️
