If the front bumper energy absorber got damaged, but not much (one of those rectangulars, which come out from the absorber to attach it to the reinforcement bar, came apart and lost), can that bumper be repaired or it is better to buy a new one. Is it essential for safety?

Harbor Freight sells a very inexpensive and very useful tool for those push pin fasteners.
If you are Replacing the bumper... adding the chrome center piece to the new one would also be helpful.. But otherwise very well explained....
