    CORRECTIONS:
    Saka's Real Stats All Comps: 26 Games, 9 Goals, 11 Assists (.85 goals/90)
    Mohammed Salah's Stats: 27 Games, 18 Goals, 9 Assists (1.19 Goals/90)
Tbf, I just screwed up a little bit with the stats. No good excuses, this is my first real analysis like this and there are bound to be some screw-ups.
But honestly, Salah is just in a league of his own. I wasn't excluding him because he isn't good enough, I was just including players who are talented wingers but are also recognized for their elite capacity to be a winger (which Raphinha isn't really).

You are doing a good job but just like you are vowing to get better and aspiring to excellence that we all know you'll reach if you keep up the good work you are doing, that is the same we want for Raphina. Progress and thriving towards excellence. That's what Barcelona used to be about. I praise you for your honesty and the fact that you acknowledge your shortcoming!! Kuddos to you !

  • @cameron.offline

He is predictable at times but if he has a bit of space, That diagonal pass/cross with his left foot is inevitable and always creates a chance from it. When we dominated Bayern last season (and still lost lol) he was our best attacking outlet and his work rate was crazy as always. He’s not amazingly world class, but he’s effective in creating chances in Xavi’s system and perhaps just needs a fresh combination up front i.e. Vitor Roque

    • @ezekielduran4386
      @ezekielduran4386 4 месяца назад +9

His work rate makes him world class to all managers and teammates. Players and managers love someone that doesn't give anything less than their most effort in every situation. That's world class and is always world class no matter what. If the player has above average skill in many other departments then you're talking about a world class player. Many managers have these types of reliable guys they need and trust. I think James Milner is a perfect example. He was at every stage of his career from Aston Villa onwards a world class player. Did you ever hear of him being world class? Probably not. But he did all the right things from a managerial perspective. He didn't commit many errors. He was effective and decisive, and confident. And he demanded much of his teammates. Think of him getting on Van Dijk last season. He knew the guy screwed up and he let him have it. That's a world class player

Raphinha is the RW version of the player Xavi wants on the LW. Puzzling that Xavi hasn't tried inverting his system so the RB flies forward and the left winger retains the width to at least try Raphinha more centrally. Especially with the absence of Gavi/Pedri.

Yamal with 16 years? I don't think it's fair to put all barça pressure in what is essentialy a child in development to be a great player. If raphinha is out, barça will bring someone who will have a adaptation period and can or cannot be the right man for the job.

All fair points in the video. I think ultimately Raphinha's problem is that he isn't the kind of winger Barcelona needs on the right. He doesn't hold width, he can't beat his man. What he does well is movement and final ball, whether that's a shot or a cross (though he's very very inconsistent with these as well, ranging from awful misses to amazing shots and crosses). He's essentially a wide forward, but there isn't enough support and complementary skills from either the fullback or left CAM for him.
That's why watching him lose the ball or do nothing all game is frustrating. It isn't necessarily his fault, but it still sucks to watch.

Unfortunately, something bad is happening to the team in terms of purchasing players in recent years. Most of them do not live up to expectations. Stars like Dembele, Coutinho, Griezmann and even Lewandowski who reached their prime fail to improve. I wonder what the reason for this is (probably the Barça media and the pressure they have as a result). Anyway, as someone who followed Leeds United, there is not much of Raphina who was there - something about him is insecure and hesitant and it also seems that he no longer enjoys football.

Raphinha is great, but he did not yet get the advertisement that Vini, Saka... And some other players do.
Let's not compare him to Neymar or any other player, Neymar is a sensational talent that we don't often see, while Raphinha is a player of his kind.
Imagine Raphinha playing alongside a RB with qualities of Dani Alves on his prime, or a Prime Jordi Alba player, imagine him playing with Prime Messi as a false 9. He doesn't get any of these yet he's atill a threat on the opponent, he's still scoring and still creating chances. I'm a Barça fan and sincerely I hate Raphinha, he's so frustrating to watch, he doesn't know the right decisions to take on the ball, so predictable, overhits crosses🤦, cant finish most times.

To put things into conext, the best wingers are currently Salah, Mbappe and Son. Vini has been struggling with injuries this season which explains his form. Saka has potential to be world class but he is not there yet and Arsenal fans overrate him to others into believing he is world. Great potential does not equal world class.

I agree...Xavi needs to stop letting others make decisions for him...if Laporta, Deco, Robert or whomever wants to bully him to play with Gus who don't perform then he needs to put his foot down. Compare Pep and Luis Enrique to other gaffers who were there after and their character and "balls" separated the cracks from the duds. I agree with you 100%
Also, Tigrihno's last name is pronounced something like "Roakie" just FYI. Maybe its because I watch most footie news in Spanish but it took me a minute to know you were referring to Roque and not to Hector Fort 😅 sorry

Raphinha is very underrated, I like him more than Dembele. I love how much passion he has , maybe he doesnt have that brazilian flair but I believe that having players that try their hardest every game is better than having a good player that plays for money or thinks he is too good to be trying. Barca is missing passion , with the injuries of ter stegen, gavi ,pedri its very hard to find the players who will give everything on the pitch, lewa doesnt move at all gundogan isnt the same. Frenkie is out best player but isnt as passionate and aggressive as I would like him but still we need someone to balance , Felix dives all the time and when he has space he doesnt try to make progress to the other half , Balde is a player I like, cancelo gets frustrated easily, and the center backs act like they havent played a whole season with each other

I've been sitting with 2 fantasy formations that contains Raphinha, Ferran and Vitor Roque
    In possession a 3241
    Vitor Roque
    Ferran Raphinha
    Cancelo Yamal
    FDJ Pedri
    Christensen Araujo Kounde
    Out of possession a 451
    Vitor Roque
    Ferran Pedri FDJ Yamal Raphinha
    Cancelo Christensen Araujo Kounde
Very pressing and very secure defensively.

Raphina is good in finding spaces to make runs and cause problems but still sometimes fails to convert those chances.
He's not good on one on one at all even with the keeper.
And he CAN'T play the one touch pass combination and create balls or find his man well enough.

I like the front three of ferran raphinha and roque i suggested this even before roque that we play raph and ferran together specially since gavi is injured and we can't afford to lay back knowing we have that one guy running the whole pitch on the 90th minute and meeting the ball with his head for the slight hope that it saves the team

Been saying it for a while now, United need results and need it now, and they need a complete new front 3, and those players need to be world class or nothing at all, they need at least 2 world class wingers, that have consistent performance and play 40+ games a season. Let me tell you the easier player to get is either raphinha or one of the many world class wingers that bayern has, they could easily score a deal for any of those for around 40-50M. With a loan move almost garantied to sucessed.

The funny thing is I don't watch much of la liga. Whenever he was with Leeds, he was easily their most dynamic player on the attacking front. He wasn't captivating to those who do underappreciate the most important actions necessary for team successes. One of the most impressive things I had seen in Haalands first year resulted in a goal where he personally had no touch on during a counter. But he had the willingness wherewithal and desire to make a forward run into the correct space to provide space for an in cutting winger to switch the field of play. Whoever it was (can't remember) played it to grealish who found a perfect low ball to the far post for such an easy goal in a tight game that led to more goals from demoralizing a stern defense. It was frustrating they were doing everything they could and early in the second half gave up that type of goal when they could have just taken the lead themselves. Haaland moving into space created the entire possibility of the play that followed and it was done to his weak side knowing full well he was a distraction only. Thats beautiful play.
Now here is my problem, you get frustrated because watching Raphina because you don't understand the game well enough. He was an awesome player to watch for the most intelligible of fans and I (as an american) was sad to see him leave leeds when they were adding more Americans to the squad and becoming a huge draw for an American audience. If you get frustrated then perhaps you should study the game a little more. That tifo quote was entirely correct. He was unpredictable, and what you said he wanted to do all the time wasn't something he did that much while at leeds. He'd drive and cross a lot more than cut to the inside.
    Otherwise great analysis

As a Leeds fan I agree. Although in a team like ours at the time it's easier for a player like himself to stand out, whereas at a top team the limits of him can probably be seen clearer. Despite that I would say in my lifetime watching Leeds he's probably one of, if not the best player I've been able to watch. So unpredictable and on his day can be unplayable and win games.

Raphinha isn’t a bad player by no stretch. BUT this is a prime example of getting stuck in the stats. This might be an effect from the type of play style barca implements but by no chance is he better know most of the players you mentioned. In a comparison of how much his dribbles, crosses, and shots are lead to goals are way less than those you mentioned. Watching the games are way different from the stats themselves. He’s predictable, inaccurate crossing, predominately one footed, and low temper has been one of many reasons barca are struggling to score. AND he plays way less than those compared to. Most of the contributions have been in irrelevant games.

Raphinha is definitely not a dribbler, he is more of a run-behind-the-defender type of player. He does have a confidence issue at the moment or all of them (strikers and wingers) are pissed off at Xavi cause the lack of goals while getting good looks is just Brutal... aside from the obvious.
