I've been thinking of maybe deploying Raphinha and Dembele on the same side. I know it sounds odd, however it would sorta look like a 4222 with one playing secondary striker and the other with more freedom as the '"RCAM". Both like some time on the wing and some time in the middle of the pitch, and they could continuously exploit each other's space. For example the secondary striker drops deep to collect the ball while the other one runs into the space left behind, and there are many more options. As for the "LCAM", you would have to deploy someone like Pedri who really just play like a false winger/nr.10, with Balde keeping wide at the left side of the pitch. Also because of this, the RB would not have to make overlapping runs, and would be more of an inverted fullback, supporting the defense and the midfield.

Thank you. Thank you very much for saying what I've saying all the time.
I had thought that Raphinah was going to flourish at Barcelona because he did more with little at Leeds United, little did I know that Xavi was going to play the kind of nonsense that he's playing trying too hard instead of letting players win your games.
What I've learnt about Spain is that they seem to be stubborn about what they know and that's why they have won the world cup only once despite the talent they had, whereas Brazil have done so many times back to back, its because teams in Spain are stubborn about what they know except for Real Madrid.
Real Madrdi flourishes because it doesn't use Spanish players and stubborness but it uses global player mentality, thus they always willing to adjust the system to the weapons they have.
Barcelona on the other hand is just a pre-extension of Spanish player mentality and until they change that, players should reconsider joining them because they're going to be limited.
Football is much broader than a Busquets fan mentality.
Raphinah must leave that team and go play at a team that is not stubborn and that understands that you don't cage weapons into a sustem but you rather use your weapons to their strength in it.
You can't go to a war having 9 millimeters and R5 riffles and you say the system only has to use 9 millimeters or s riffle must operate like a 9 millimeter because it's what yiur system is about!!!
Raphinah, De Jong, Kounde, Araujo must leave that team if they continuebeing caged out of position. I'm a fan but they piss me off by playing players out of positions just so they can fit their Spanish players or worst of all fit these excellent talents in a non-workable system and then blame them for not delivering.
The only non Spanish player playing in his position is Lewandowski, and that's only because there's no Spanish striker.
It's disgusting to say the least and as much as I love Xavi as a greatest midfielder of all time, I'm disappointed in his tactics and stubbornness Im sorry.

in my opinion the best right back who is genius in front is now Joao Cancelo, and he would be perfect scenario as a world class right back for Barcelona, unfortunately he's out of Barca range while he have contract to 2027 and 1 billion release clause, in term of much cheaper options and more in Barca range would be eiter Pedro Porro or Diogo Dalot
but in my opionion, i would consider trying in play at least for test the 4231, and make 2 pivots from frenkie and pedri, while gavi would be driving there as the left midfielder which would gave also Balde more options in attack, and then at the right midfielder play Dembele with Raphinha actually as CAM, and play him with dembele to constant swap positions in match, drifting wide and cut inside for both of them, that would give more opportunities for Raphinha to play this passes and if there is need, he can drift wide to wing to make cross, while dembele is gonna make a cut inside to try something, that's scenario i would try with current players, because of course when we get proper CDM after Busi end his contract we need to play this new world class CDM with then Frenkie as 2 pivots, that make us a need to sacrifice one of 3 players which in this case are Gavi, Dembele and Raphinha, and from this 3 for me Raphinha as for now is first to drop, because you can't drop Gavi from first XI as it is for now

Gavi never played great next to De Jong, he shines next to Busquets cause Busquets is slow and Gavi is everywhere, bumping into players. When De Jong plays he is moving a lot and Gavi has to remain on a position and then you see he doesn't have inventivity, he doesn't control the game like Pedri, doesn't carry the ball or break the lines like De Jong - all that he does is running around and tackling opponents. Aggressivity doesn't mean skills, Xavi knows he is just average and that's exactly why he didn't played him against Bayern, cause the world would have seen the difference between Bayern's midfielders and Gavi - and we don't want to ruin a Golden Boy image, right?

    • @xXxMaTRiX96978xXx

@@shodaime93 so playing 3 natural forwards in 433 have more threat than playing THE SAME 3 forwards but in 4231? i dont understand your logic here
it's the same lineup but played differently, i was talking this about to use much more of Raphinha passing capability to move him into CAM, it's surely better to try him there rather than force him out of position to LW or do the same for dembele and move him to LW when on RW Raphinha cant do nothing for now
it's just changing play style from 433 with 3 forwards - Raphinha - Lewandowski - Dembele, with midfield - Pedri - Gavi - Frenkie, to other formation in 4231 and place them Lewandowski as Striker, Gavi at LM, Raphinha at CAM, Dembele RM and then 2 Pivots - Pedri and Frenkie
it's same goalscoring threat because you HAVE THE SAME PLAYERS IN LINEUP dude, it's just the system which changes to use much more of Raphinha strenghts
the other reason for trying double pivot system is because there's no one like Busi at pivot on the market, so in that case you need to choose, changing system to play 2 pivots and then use Frenkie as one of the 2, with the second one either new one bought on the market, or try Pedri there (kinda same as there is Parejo playing), or you need to buy different kind of a CDM which both Busi neither Frenkie are not, someone like Rodri or Tchouameni player style
and in term of our budget and before transfer window where we don't have any other CDM's in squad there is potential at least to try for pedri as kinda false pivot with frenkie, while Gavi would play false LM - and that would give much more space for Balde there

I'd agree, as a Leeds fan, I can tell you that Raphinha always looked at his best when Dallas or Ayling would run beyond him from RB, we also played Dallas in midfield during his first season who could do almost anything and was like Duracell bunny and was someone who just knew where he needed to be during build up to protect the defence or assist in attack, this all allowed Raphinha to do his most effective attacking play and cut in to link up with Bamford and Rodrigo or just do something all on his own, I think at Barcelona he doesn't really have the players to facilitate him doing this, getting a good right back who can run beyond him and link up with him and Gavi could be really effective. Maybe even Kounde could be trained to do that, we're seeing Ben White do that role more at Arsenal despite being seen as a more defensive player.

Coupled with a box-to-box double pivot of any of kessie, Frankie and Gavi, gives the team balance.
Balde can be employed in the back 3 with Kounde/Christensen and Araujo but with some freedom to move forward as Rudiger did at Chelsea.

      Raphinha as right interior (no.10)
Ansu/Memphis as inverted LW in left interior
We don't have suited LW in the touchlin
      The touchline is for LB

As an answer to your question, my plan on career mode (lolz) is to shift Vanderson into a RB and I think he is a good, young and reasonably priced option for us. Shame Dest didn't quite stick here and isn't impressing at Milan, either. Had high hopes for him.

I think the best option for Barca in January transfer window is to bring back dest from Milan if it's possible. Serginio's natural game is offensive and contemplating his technical ability i do believe he would complement raphinha pretty well in holding the line and allowing the Brazilian to tuck inside. Although dest is poor defensively, but so are bellerin and Roberto

Width yes is very important but you have structured with like Barca or Roaming width like Man City. Roaming is the best as the opposition doesn't know when the wingers are wide or when they are inside.
Also Man City has got 2 good backs who can bounce up and down which helps them and Barca does not.

He's a right Wing Back. Just think Cafu or Dani Alves, Maicon or the legendary Carlos Alberto. They have the legs to cover the wings entirely. The only thing is you'll need 3 center backs to deploy 2 wing backs in a 3-5-2 formation.

I never understood those kind of questions. Why would you ask about a player under contract with a different team, especially when Barcelona has a huge debt? Right now Dalot is playing really well under the new coach, he is at United, probably one of the few clubs at the same level with Barcelona - if the club wants to keep him why would he want to go to Barcelona? Right now you have Kessie and Ferran Torres, 2 transfers that are not used, are mainly on the bench plus Raphinha that is far away from the player he was at Leeds, Frenkie de Jong, a player that always performed well is benched so Xavi can use Gavi or old and slow Busquets.
Why would Dalot want to come to Barcelona from United? Sure, players from Sociedad or Leeds they are happy to come to Barcelona but not from big clubs, you don't see starters from Bayern, City etc to come to Barcelona, right?

I wonder why xavi hasn't tried the 3 time ucl winning diamond system which madrid still uses a and play good football.
We have an excellent squad to pull this off.
    Lewy ferran
    Raphinha
    Pedri Gavi
    FDJ
    Balde Christensen araujo kounde
    Mats.
Firstly, Raphinha is FAR better and most effective from centre also wen we struggle against teams who sit back (even madrid in last classico dropped to back 5 often) we need more creativity to support pedri and fdj from centre. raphinha could be more useful than dembele because of his defensive workrate and also his long range shooting and passing abilities. if our opponents are attacking more we can shift this formation into a 4-3-3 with raphinha or ferran on the wings. we can get more one two passing if we could keep our two of the most creative players in the centre just like how we used messi. Ferran's excellent movements could create so much space for Lewandowski and vice versa opponents will have trouble marking two lethal strikers while also leaving space for raphinha who can be dangerous from distance. we also have FDJ or pedri over lapping in the box to have an extra man on attack. i wonder why xavi hasn't looked into this system yet this is much simpler and also an effective system that works with our current squad which will help with both defence and offence. I believe xavi will use this system in europa league.

barca should use raphinha more often than dembele
He is a more creative player with better decisiom making in the final third.
and clearly he is an inverted winger who tends to create and combine with central player.

I mentioned previously using Raphinha as right attacking midfielder ( as Pep converted B. Silva into midfielder ). I believe Raphinha as attacking midfielder in place of Gavi only can do this change with a very courageous and thinking out of box coach like Pep or Arteta but not Xavi unfortunately. Barcelona or Xavi likes one of his backs to attack and the other to defend, it seems Balde is destined to attack ( his forte ) so the RB has to defend more or function as extra midfielder next to DMF ( FDJ) I like Juan Foyth ( Villarreal) or Emerson Royal (ex Barca now at Tottenham) I know people will call me crazy to suggest Royal but he is very good in defending.

But 343 will give you nightmares in counter attacks . But we have. World class defenders Kounde Araujo and Christensen. Or we can use him in 4213 where with demebele on left. But we should use a CAM in the 1 position in 4213 formation. If pedri plays in that position I think he can be link between raphinha and dembele.
