It was pretty wild to see what damage was still so exposed 6ish months later. I can only imagine the loot scenario from when it happened… it’s like the Wild West out here!
We returned to our Drifter on a repositioning cruise boat last season. Seattle to Miami via many ports including Acapulco. The storm hit as we departed, we knew there would be no stop at that port. Never seen reporting of the distruction, thanks for sharing.
It was pretty shocking to see after so much time had gone by- doesn’t seem like the Navy here is doing much now that it’s all “settled”. Tourism is still alive and well… just not as much as it was. Very glad we stopped!
Many, many, many years ago, I went to a business conference in Acapulco when businesses were still going there for conferences (no longer). This was in the pre-drug cartel period. I was sorry to see all of the hurricane damage. Will it ever get cleaned up? On to the good news. While I was there, I caught a 110-pound sailfish. That was a big sailfish. So Kell, tell Chris to get his ass in gear and get the fishing lines out. By the way, you make a mean-looking burger, Chris. Do you deliver to North Carolina? See you next week.
No way!! Still no freakin’ fish for us!! Only the wooden kind… you’ll see what I mean Next week 😅 Sadly, I’m not sure it’ll ever be all cleaned up. But at least now the city is functional and tourism still seems to be alive and well 😊
Did you know that the flag ay 16 minutes in your video is a grave yard, There was a tunnel in the old days, after a nature ramp there are a lot of people killed in that thunnel. they never removed the bodies. But make a new road above the old tunnel. If you walk from the mast you find on the right my favorite bar. Bocana Beach... If you walk further like 10 minutes you hav on the left side Hotel Bali Hai. and if you walk further on the richt there is my houseon the right side ad the roundabout called Las Palmas accondominio's.
So sad to see those boats like that.
Happy to see Drifter is still up and afloat.

A new 10 year boat renovation project for you. Hurricane boats are a great way to get divorced. I will never understand how marriages survive boats.
“Hurricane boats are a great way to get divorced” 😬😂
