Mercedes 300-24, w124, owners' experiences

Hello there!
Join me on a ride with the owner (eeuuuhhh... one of the owners...) of this Mercedes 300-24 from 1991 in Amsterdam. It's a video of the cars and minds format, in which I chat with an owner about his car and things that come up.
The w124... One of the best cars in the world? One of the best second-hand cars in the world? Can you think of another car that is 31 years old, which you can buy under €5.000,- and is still that solid?
In this episode I first go into some of the main objectives of Mercedes-Benz with the w124. Then I talk with Baha about his choice for this car and why he has to sell it with pain in his heart. And of course we'll examine the in- and exterior of the car also before I get behind the wheel.

This is the most beautiful car for the year 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300-24v It was my dream to have one and it’s still very very beautiful

I'm a new owner of a 300SL-24 after daily driving a 300E I wish I has the M104 as it is so much sportier! W124 is a great car, so is the W201 but the R129 is a money pit.

Borniet is een paars-achtig mineraal, vandaar de naam van deze lak. Zeer mooi. De 300E-24V is eigenlijk een M103 met een aangepaste kop, voor de rest gebruikt hij dezelfde KE-jetronic. Typisch aan de 24-kleppers uit die tijd is dat het koppel vooral in het hogere toerenbereik vrijkomt, waar het grootste verschil met de gewone 300E merkbaar is. Onderin is hij best wat tam. Noemenswaardig is ook dat hij standaard op Superplus 98 rijdt, wat het ook niet goedkoop maakt. Het reële verbuik ligt rond de 11L/100KM. 15:30 Bij het openen van de deuren wordt door een flitsend lampje gesuggereerd, de gordels vast te maken, het lampje is waarschijnlijk kapot. :) Het roostertje bij het dak is voor de automatische airco, het zuigt lucht naar een sensor om de omgevingstemperatuur aan de aircoregeling door te geven. Ik hoop dat deze naar een liefhebber mag gaan.

Kwestie van lampje vervangen. 17:55 dat is om de volume te bepalen, naar onderen is muziek naar de achterspeakers naar boven uiteraard naar de voorste.

Does that 124 ride and drive better than e class you riding in now??

Hi Benjamin, the 124 is more relaxed. The e-class is has a firmer suspension, is more dynamic and excels on the 'Autobahn'.
