If I'm guessing I'd use the same basic recipe, subbing more butter for the cheese and cream it with a half teaspoon of Better than Bullion or Chicken Base instead of the salt and sprinkle with onion powder. But I'd watch Duff's for sure...

Paprika. Oleoresin of paprika is part of the color & flavor, so you want some paprika in there, assuming you aren't allergic to nightshades.
I make cookies. I don't buy them out of the store anymore the store-bought ones taste good and they're quick but with me making my own cookies, I control the ingredients.

What type of flour is used? If it is an all purpose flour or a cake flour? Can you use a whole wheat flour instead? I have diabetes and would like to use a flour that doesn’t spike my glucose too high. Thank you.

It can be made with gluten free cup for cup or all purpose flour. Same measurements!

I have a wheat allergy, not gluten, but try to eat gluten-free. I see several batches of your Cheese Its in my future baking.
Could you put flour measurements in cups, as well as grams? Not all of us use a scale for measuring. I can convert, but really don’t want to have to. 😊Thanks.

I love cheez-its, but they have some really bad chemicals in them that we really shouldn't be eating nor feeding to those we love! So a big THANK YOU for this recipe, so that I don't have to:)
Love ya Duffmeister - but I gotta say....For only $10 worth of ingredients and 2 hours of your time plus the electric to cool, freeze and bake - you can make $0.35 worth of Cheez-its...or you can just go buy a box. Love the recipe and the idea, though! 😂

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Cheez-it has some Paprika in it. These seem simple enough to make though.

One great thing about cooking and baking, you can always make them to your taste. You want paprika, add some. Sweet or smoked. Wanna trade cheddar for Swiss or camenbert, do it. I'd start with an eighth of a teaspoon (0.6 g) in that size batch. Me being me I might blend garlic and onion powder and add 'em together but paprika also sounds awesome.
Sounds like we need a taste cook off, make two or three different batches and try them out on the family! Some good ideas here.
I am 62 disabled can not afford a stand mixer can i use a hand mixer and please think about the chicken in a bis they are the wifes fav bless you and your family

Cheez-it’s aren’t that salty because the salt is all in the crumbs that gather in the corner of the bag that you lick your finger and dip into to not miss out on the very last Cheez-it crumb. Not that I have ever done that. 😶
