Wow, that's really cool. These remind me of Butterfinger 1.0. They modified the recipe a few years ago, and the "new" Butterfingers are not as good. Just from the sound of crunch, it sounds like what I remember. Whenever your favorite candy brand gets sold to another company, you know they are going to f it up.
Butterfingers, one of my all-time favorites! Actually, even more than that, I love the 'old-style Grandma' candies that are similar to Butterfinger but they look like little beige, striped, pillow-like candies with a very thin outside and pb crunch inside. These are my oldest son's favorite candy bars but he watches his wt, & health overall, so he won't ever buy them. HOWEVER, if I were to make them as a treat, I don't think he'd deny himself @ least 1. I bake & cook & I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing this recipe!!! I'd never would've thought of recreating a candy bar! ❤

Hey if you have left over candy corn, melt a cup of candy corn with a cup of peanut butter & mix together. Flatten & lay it out on a sheet pan in the fridge to cool. Melt your chocolate & pour it over or dunk it, then back to fridge to cool. Tastes just like butterfingers.

I remember that candy you mentioned that looked like little pillows with a thin, crunchy candy coating. Our school sold them to raise funds. They were called Golden Crumbles. Amazon sells them as Golden Crunchies. They taste just like the ones I remember as a kid.😃

Dark chocolate KitKat are the best! They're the perfect balance of chocolate and sweet. I find the regular KitKat too sweet. I love to freeze Butterfingers because that helps prevent the peanut buttery goodness from sticking in my teeth.

I made this 15-20 years ago with a recipe from Bon Appetit magazine! It was really good and I had fun making it however, once was enough. Might ty Duff recipe though as it seems a little simpler.
