- Professional cliff divers plunge from platforms as high as nine stories tall, all while being judged for their artistry as they twist and flip at 65 miles per hour. They compete on a six-country tour as part of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series. Correspondent Seth Doane watches a competition in the Italian coastal town of Polignano a Mare, and speaks with athletes Molly Carlson, Aidan Heslop and Ellie Smart about what it takes to compete in this jaw-dropping sport.

I’ve been following Molly Carlson’s journey for months, we’re all very proud
Unlocked human potential. The key to a World worth living in
MOLLY AND ELLIE ARE GREAT DIVERS!
Diving is one of the most graceful, artistic, and physical sports there are, I am envious.
I've been watching Ms. Carlson's RUclips channel for quite some time. It's so impressive what she's able to do in the face of such harrowing danger.
Awesome. Like that they feature someone in second place . It’s not about always coming in first . Plus I’m always about people sharing and normalizing their stories having come from a fam where everything was so hush hush all the time which makes everyone cray cray
I admire the grace of cliff divers.
This seems sensational. She is usually a professional, but when it comes to cliff diving, it is definitely dangerous. Swimmers and divers must stay safe.
I absolutely love Molly, Aiden and all her BRAVEGANG!! 💓🙏🏻
Yikes, bungee-jumping is one thing, but that's Rodney Dangerfield/Back To School level risky (I don't think I'd do it unless I were fleeing the IRS).
The Triple Lindy 🤣
I've jumped off 30 ft platforms as a kid and that's high enough for me. I mean, that hurts even when you hit the water correctly.
I remember the divers in Acapulco ❤
Me, too!
Wow!
When i was in middle school (11 or 12) my church youth group did a mission week in the southern part of Missouri and we got to use a pool at the university there. We were jumping off a platform dive and i was dared to dive off it. Stupid me, wanting to be apart of the group, did that and had a headache for days. I think if i had been less lucky i might have broken my neck
GO MOLLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are only two type of cliff divers. Grand champion and stuff on a rock.
I have seen this young lady (she has a show on you tube)..
jump of things that look like something Base Jumpers use with Parachutes would jump off of..
I like flying airplanes and I am not afraid of heights....
But....
this scares me everytime I see her jump...
More power to her..
GO FOR IT!!
but not for me....
😮
DAMN!
I used to easily jump feet-first (no flips or dives) 40 feet into a quarry in Vermont when I was younger. I tried 50 feet in Massachusetts twice, but twisted myself one time and it hurt for a week. No more, thanks. Quarry jumping is a rite of passage for younger people (mostly guys) in places like New England and southern Indiana.
The word quarry gives me shivers.
Those Women divers I've got to say have "Bigga Balls" ❤️🙏💃💃💃
✨
Uh nope, ain't gonna catch me doing that, no thanks!
I had to stop watching. I am so afraid of heights and just looking down from that platform ...
No thank you. I will be working in the Culinary Field.
They make competition out of everything
First of all, why is the uploader region blocking this video from Canada, the very same country that gave us the INCREDIBLE Molly Carlson!?! Apparently cbs has yet to learn about VPNs. Tisk tisk. Molly you are amazing and we are so proud!!!
Crazy. Insane. Dumb.
Why don't women dive at the same height as men?
FANTASTIC QUESTION. THE LEFT WON'T TELL YOU, THO. :(
Is the real “why” just adrenaline addiction? Sounds like they’re trying to hit a college essay character limit describing those other reasons. “Totally empowering and forces me to think outside the box while jumping from atop a box into the unknown of the water which is really just a large box of water like Boxed water which helps my anxiety and the environment.” Also why do the men jump 30ft higher?? Would’ve liked to hear more from the men about their reasons. What an insane sport.
Because their physiques can withstand the impact better.
And also... they were asked a question about a feeling, and they attempted to describe it. Saying, "Because I like it," is a lame answer. Would you NOT feel empowered accomplishing something dangerous and difficult that you had worked extremely hard for? 😂
A broken neck and a lifetime in a wheelchair really don't appeal to me.
They'll get mnd in later life
You mean "mad"?
@@jeshkam No. MND. Motor neurone disease
@@hmq9052 Oh, silly me. Thanks. Also, you're right.
So which height do trans dudes dive from?!.. 🤔 😂
20 meters 🙄🙄🙄

PROFESSIONAL CLIFF DIVING UNBELIEVABLE😱😱😱
