This was so 1996 , the grungey styles, the baggy pants, the apathy 👌

High school in the 90s - no smartphones, tablets, freedom and a cool atmosphere. Ps. The girl at 3:00 is beautiful. I wish I had met her. I wonder how she fared in life. 😍😊

I was in high school at this time. I would get up before dawn to ride across smelly cattle pastures as the sun was just coming up. And I was greatly looking forward to the release of the Nintendo 64 at this time. The hype around that thing was incredible. We were so excited.

I was only in the 3rd Grade in ‘96 but man the 90s and early 2000s were incredible.
Ocarina of Time and DBZ (via Toonami) changed my life and I’m still riding that wave; never gonna stop playing rpgs and watching anime.

West Chester East seem definitely like a cool/friendly high school to go to. In retrospective I went grew up in the Philly burbs as well but it was a little closer to the city and while there were good times the high schools around me seemed rougher in the 90s. Just to confirm this I was watching Raab's Bathroom Break Podcast when Deron Miller was on talking about comparing West Chester East to his previous high school in Marlton NJ and he said it was night and day difference. He said he was getting bullied even by girls and the first year moving to West Chester he said it was a 180. New slate....everyone was friendly right away, girls liked him.

LOL not a single student ID had to be worn and you guys were allowed to wear what you wanted. Gangs were and are still a problem where I used to live. We were not allowed to wear anything except Black and White "Uniforms". White shirt, black pants. Coloring our hair was considered a distraction but I did bleach blonde and got away with that. Geez the uniform thing really SUCKED! And then when things seemed like they couldn't get any worse...Columbine happened. I was still in my Freshman year! After that it was metal detectors, random searches, security and many teachers on edge, and even two cops placed in our school. The craziest thing hands down at that time was how I was treated by my fellow classmates. I used to be fucked with on a normal basis. After Columbine nobody screwed with me anymore. They were afraid, and who could blame them? It was a messed up time to be a high schooler. Sorry to be so grim but it was what it was. Of course plenty of good times to be had in that environment. I met some good friends, and teachers.

I graduated before Columbine. Definitely different times. In fact there is a video in my '90s Home Movies' playlist where it is the year after we graduated, and we just walk in our school to visit and eat lunch with the vids who were juniors when we were seniors. The only thing the teachers did was ask how college was going. different times indeed.

      School shootings always existed unfortunately!
The Columbine shooting wasn’t the first one.
That school shooting was / is one of the most infamous ones because it appeared on Live TV and because of the high number (at the time) of dead victims…
One year prior in Arkansas - march '98, two students (13 and 11 years old) in an elementary school shot and killed 4 students and 1 teacher!
The 90s as a whole was an interesting decade.
There’s always good and bad in each decade.

Columbine was my senior year and nothing changed after that for my school. Life went on. We had always had an armed officer on campus for security and youth intervention. Only 2 fights in the 4 years I was there. Same time but completely different experiences.

Back when social media and smartphones weren't a thing! which damn this honestly shows how happen these people are in high school.
And even act very happy towards other people but since in our modern days and phones and social media that became a thing for our world
People now are so rude nowadays and act very angry now and even modern high school students are so rude and toxic too! since I know in fact.
I have dealt with many rude high school students that got rude at me and even I gotten in fights with some of them and there was times I was being called the f slur
By toxic high school classmates aka the word that is meant for gay males but I always will know the f slur will get throw around as an insult by many people that ain't gay.
And I know I still gotten call that by three high school students and I even never like the times I have been yell at by classmates over my laugh and even gotten threats
From a classmate and even a teacher over my laugh that the toxic moment I have in high school landed me in tears since I just couldn't handle the unfair yelling.
Over my laugh that I think people like that should know people have different laughs and it doesn't give them the rights to be so rude at that person over them having a
Different laugh than you! like damn I wish I was in high school in the 90s since high in the 90s look's so much cool and better than high school now.

Dude... things were not perfect back then. There was plenty of toxicity at times. You're able to romanticize it because you're not actually their experiencing it. There was plenty of good and bad. People were always jerks.

@@megamanmegamanmegamanmegam8725 It greatly depends on which school you're going to. If you had attended Hammocks Middle in the 90s like I did, you wouldn't want to glamorize it. But the schools I went to after that were a lot better. Different area. Different culture.

High school was a difficult time for me I was a foot shorter than the girls 40 lbs overweight with crooked yellow teeth and a bad case of gas the ugliest girl in school would not give me the time of day so predictably I played with myself a lot and over time went blind
