- Tony Reyes has become a very special fishing trip to me!
This Mothership trip has so much to offer in a weeks time.
From the roadtrip down to San Felipe, to beautiful destinations and natural bays, to amazing food, EPIC fishing, and everything in between!
This episode, I show you what it is like for a little bit of the travel and boarding the mothership, along with the morning of the first day of fishing, and what the first morning was like!
Fishing was a little bit slow for cabrilla, but we made the best of it!
Catching cabrilla on jerkbaits, and fishing slowpitch jigs for triggerfish, goldspots, spotted bass, and even a handful of deep cabrilla as well.
Can't wait to share the rest of this adventure with you all!
Easily one of the coolest experiences of my entire life!
Hope you all enjoyed this video. Please like this video and subscribe to the channel if you have not already!

bro those moster trigger fish for ceviche super bomb
Such good ceviche fish! They’re so plentiful out there, if we wanted to keep any, we can catch them any time lol. No need to kill more than is necessary
All these Reyes trips are making me anxious to get out on the water. Definitely on the bucket list. Hope all is well Ray. Happy Father's Day to your Pops 💪🏻
Definitely need to add it to the bucket list! Such an amazing experience and very affordable!
Still something I hope to do in the future! Love to see it Ray!
Add it to the bucketlist and make it happen! Thanks Matthew!
👍
What reel did you use for the first few casts of the trip?
Hey Ray!
What's up man! Hope all is well!
Hey Ray totally unrelated question what line do you have on your Komodo 400?
I haven't fished my Komodo in years, but I'm pretty sure I have 50 lb Max cuatro on my 400 komodo.
Now that I am getting more into cabrilla fishing, I have been fishing the Lexas with 65# braid on my lighter rod and 80# on my heavier rod
@@Dirty.Hookers ok thanks Ray!
@@Dirty.Hookers also quick question do you run 50-100 yards of mono on your komodo
@@Dirty.Hookersalso quick question how much top shot do you run on the komodo
What rod is that you’re using?
Phenix Titan LongFall 7'10" MH, upgraded guides. The stock guides are too small for connection knots with heavy line being casted through it over and over
What rod do you have on that lexa?
it looks like a phenix titan longfall/stickbait, i wonder the same thing though. I didnt think you were supposed to cast with those rods
It is the Phenix Titan LongFall 7'10 MH.
Works incredible as a jerkbait/"CrankBait" rod, since cabrilla fishing is basically Crank bait fishing on steroids!
Definitely better to build one and put slightly bigger guides on it though. The stock guides do not do well with heavy line connection knots.
Yo Ray do you got any tips for someone who is just starting to work as a pinhead I just started and have been a few trips working
Work extra hard, prove yourself, and show the initiative that you want to be there!
Try to leave your fishing rods behind, highly advise not bringing a rod and not to fish if you are trying to prove that you want to work for them.
@@Dirty.Hookers thanks ray
Thanks Ray your right I should start leaving my rods at home because I always fish a lil bit too much
I did hear spotty meat was a bit soft.
Whole fried was pretty damn good!
So jerk baits are the hot bait and not so much stick baits?
Both work great actually. It is just nice that the HidroMinnows are built equiped with the proper hardware right out of the package
I’m definitely gonna go. Got all the gear for it!
You're smart to avoid fishing in SoCal and just going straight Baja Mexico.
SoCal fishing is trash 🤷♂️
Haha I do not avoid California fishing. I still fish SoCal from Santa Barbara to San Diego regularly! I Just happen to get a lot of content for multiple videos per day of fishing when I visit Baja twice a year.
