  • What an absolute grind this day was!
    This was our last day of the week on Cedars Island, and we decided it had to be a big fish or bust day!
    We looked at spot, after spot, after spot, casting our lives away with every lure we had in our box!
    After about 7+ hours of searching between 4 anglers, unfortunately we could not find any cooperative game fish.
    Decided to give our last hour a shot drifting for halibut, and that is where all of our luck FINALLY happened!
    We were lucky enough to stick a massive 35 lb White Sea bass, and continued to land 3 more halibut along with it, all in the last 45 minutes of our entire trip!
    This was only 1 of 8 videos in my 2023 Cedros Island series.
    Make sure to check out the rest of the series, if you have not already!
    Thank you all for watching, I hope you enjoyed this video!

    Nice one Ray! Hey it's all about the grind. Fishing was slow for game fish but it was still a blast grinding it out. Can't wait to get back out there!

      That was the first time I never saw a yellow hit the deck on a full day, but that’s fishing!
      If you don’t keep grinding, you may never get that 1 shot. Luckily we all worked together and gave it hell, and got rewarded in the end there!

    Whatup Ray! You’re always killing it bro!🤙🏼
    You use the jigs a bunch have you considered the quick clips? Change them jigs out quick without re-tie

    • @seansimmons7683
      @seansimmons7683 5 месяцев назад +2

      I use quick clips quite often

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  5 месяцев назад +1

      I've tried it a few times, and they do work well for easy switching and more action for the right jig.
      However, I like to feel the line on my thumb and know what the lure is doing, and I don't think I can feel that as much without straight tied to the ring.
      Perfect example in this video, is 3:40. I can feel the disturbance of water behind my jig because there is a fish on it, so I do a quick fast crank and trigger the reaction for the fish to commit.

    ray what is your setups and since phenix sold out are you still sponsored by them?

    • @Dirty.Hookers
      @Dirty.Hookers  5 месяцев назад +1

      I was using a Phenix Axis 909HJ paired with a Trinidad 20a, and a Phenix Axis 1009HJ paired with a Saltiga 35 SD for surface irons.
      And a Phenix Megalodon 607 for my bait said up because I left a yoyo/heavy bait rod behind on this trip.
      As far as I’ve been told, nothing has changed prostaff wise.

      Usually the 2 Tady surface irons I fish in Cedros are Tady 45 and Tady stamen 112.
      this day, I believe I fished mostly the Steel Baits OG surface iron Murder Weapons Viper, and Tady 45
