I beat the rank 10 offline on a lv 15 4 man team a bit ago. It took AGES, and I probably should have waited but spending time learning how to cheese and counter everything was so much fun I couldn't stop lmao. I swear the game just keeps getting better the deeper into the rabbit hole you go.

You can pretty easily farm cc in late game. You can do fights against the computer for 25cc a piece and you can skip fights once you start them. So it's pretty easy to get 500CC in like 10 minutes. So those stat potions aren't really an issue.
The more expensive items are a bit of a grind though.
A lot of those expensive items in the prize store are pretty bad regardless though, or are only usable for very specific combos that are only useful in the online arena. So you probably just shouldn't buy them unless you want to go hard on the online arena.
Those +2ap/pp items and those shields that give ap/pp are generally probably the best things to get. The weapons that gives 1ap are decent buys as well and are useful all the way to the late game.
Anything that gives ap/pp is basically good.
Ps.
Fevrite is used at the blacksmith -- which is a late-game thing -- that lets you upgrade most weapons to 25 attack. And yes, everything becomes 25. If you weapon had 24 attack before, if you upgrade it, it becomes 25. If your weapon had 10 attack before, it becomes 25. The magic weapons are obvious exceptions. They becomes 10atk 20 matk or something along those lines.
You can also upgrade most shields to some high defense and guard value. It's also all a set value.
So don't sell your weapons and shields with good abilities, just because they have low attack/defense stats. Especially the ones that gives AP/PP. You'll want to upgrade those.
Some other items from the start of the game also become good/useable again.

also if anyones curious the final colo reward onyx pendant is base ap +2 base pp +2 -15 all stats. the stuff you get for beating amalia is much better imo.

I don't know I just won my 10 matches and got ranked. You can reroll your fights and only do fights you can win

Freeze strat should work. You can use a griffin with a ranged row attack instead of the thief if your thief is to low probably
The devs blocked many pvp cheese strats by blocking op equipment and classes
Getting that character isn't the best reward you get for the offline battles. You also get the hero medallion, which gives +1ap, +1pp and + 20% physical attack(or was it 10%?). Regardless though, it's probably the best accessory in the game.
After that you get another ladder you can climb, with another reward. That reward kind of stinks though. It gives another accessory. This one gives +2ap and +2pp, but also gives a whopping -15 to all stats. Maybe there is some use for it, but I prefer not using it. -15 to all stats is a lot.

you can beat lv40 colo with a lv24 team lol. just cheese the giant girl with evades. after that you can use high initiative hilda with dragoon dive and someone with cat hat to insta kill most enemies. you'll have to adjust for the blind or buff removals but otherwise its super ez

I was wrong. I don't have PS+ and I was able to do online battles. I'm very shocked.
